On the Hail Mary beads, you pray" Jesus have mercy on me. Jesus heal me. Jesus save me. Jesus free me. You end it with the Hail Holy Queen. You can also pray if for others and put their names in the place of "me". Anyway just thought I would share this. It is a way to help the word become more a part of our lives and not just on Sunday. I think this may help me in terms of really paying attention and getting more out of the Liturgy. Hopefully, it will also help others who struggle as I do.

Gathering faithfully Together encourages us to prepare for the Sunday gospel by taking time during the week to read and pray about the Sunday scripture readings. A simple process for doing thi... Mon, 2 Sep 2013 21:39:25 EST Morning Glory personal retreat I was wondering if anyone here has participated in or knows of this retreat. One of my coworkers is in the middle of it and I was reading a bit of her book.
Apparently it is a 6 week retreat where everyday you read about a page about a saint or their writings (Mother Theresa, St Maximilan Kobe are 2 examples) and once a week there is a discussion of the weeks reading at the church then at the end of the 6 weeks there is a ceremony and you consecrate yourself to our lady.
It s... Mon, 26 Aug 2013 19:00:36 EST Last Days of Summer Challenge Okay. I never got my act in gear to make up a summer challenge, and here we are, coming to the end of August soon.

This is therefore, a LAST DAYS OF SUMMER CHALLENGE.

298 462 461 464 218 67 259

It is also a PICK-YOUR-OWN-CHALLENGE challenge.

Meaning, what is the ONE thing you need to work on the most right now? Is it exercising? Eating within calorie range? Gett... Wed, 21 Aug 2013 23:56:49 EST Yoga question Being raised a Protestant, I was taught yoga was wrong and I've never really questioned that. My Dr. suggested yoga as a form of exercise to help me control Sarcoid, but I feel funny about it. Can you tell me the church's stand on this is? Thanks! Sun, 11 Aug 2013 16:59:16 EST The God of Glory What natural events reveal God’s power and glory most dramatically for you? In what setting do you most clearly sense the presence of God—in a majestic cathedral, out in the wilderness, listening to children play? How do you respond to God when you feel his nearness?

I feel God's power revealed most in the really big storms that happen--tornadoes, hurricanes, etc, because they are the most powerful and scary natural events that I can think of. I feel that I am in God's presence no... Hi, everybody!

I originally posted this in the SparkPeople Cafe (not much of a response), and I realize this has very little to do with why we're all here, but I've always been amazed at the wealth of information Spark members are willing to share on anything and everything, so I've decided to ask my question here (with some background):

I am a Canadian who appreciates all the amazing opportunities for shopping on-line (I've been doing it for years now with no problems)... Mon, 29 Jul 2013 18:03:22 EST Do you have the faith of Abraham? Abraham was so quick to respond to God's request to sacrifice his own son (Gen 22:1-14), there wasn't even a second thought/hesitation (at least not the way the bible story is read). Unfortunately, I fear that I WOULD hesitate in answering that call and that I am not as trustful of God as I should be. Does anyone else struggle with that story? Sun, 28 Jul 2013 11:54:22 EST What is hardest for you to "give" in worship? I know what is hard for me to "give " in worship is my attention. My mind wanders too much if I am truly alert or I end up falling asleep if I am not alert enough. I hate it because I know I am missing out on a wonderful experience that I will never get back. When I am actually alert AND paying attention, I get so much out of mass and I am not sure how to maintain that. Sundays seem to be the big problem. I haven't had that be an issue at daily mass (as long as I have had 2 cups of black coff... Sun, 14 Jul 2013 06:44:02 EST
