Bummer.... first month in a long while I've backtracked. Ah well...NOT giving up... just reorienting, and moving forward.

I shudder to think what my poor scale would be enduring if I wasn't paying any attention to this Journey--LOL I'd be a 5'2" BLIMP by now, and to the point of needing emergency medical intervention...or getting paid the big $$$ to star on "My 600 Lb Life"! NO WAY!!

Wishing each of you a great Easter Weekend....whether that means some serious religious reflection and sharing with others of your Faith, coloring Easter Eggs, or finding those one's you've lost several times! I still haven't figured out how or why there is an Easter Bunny who brings colored eggs...but I sure like those Chocolate Bunnies!! LOL

WOOHOO!! for Char emoticon

I've been away this past 10 days.... off to visit family, friends and then camping with different friends. NONE of whom eat the way I need to be doing it. Sigh. I certainly don't eat foods the same as they do, but when what you prefer isn't available, it does make it difficult. I will say that I don't regain the 3-5 pounds I used to when visiting...only 1-3...so at least my compromises are working to an extent. Now giving myself 3 days to "get back with it"...and enjoying the opportunity.

Can't believe March is almost over.... I'll get set up for April soon.
Enjoy this week, and coming weekend if you have special plans!

and just to PROVE my last post, my scale went up 1.5lbs this morning--LOL!! Good thing I don't believe it will stay there.

Hope you all enjoyed at least one nice Irish song this weekend; if you had some beer, may it not stay on 'yer hips; and remember that the salty corned beef will only have an effect for 2-3 days!!

Rule #1: weight loss is never linear! (Except maybe for Char...she's managing to upset The Rules--LOL!!)

My midweek was pretty steady.... just up a bit for my week, so I am pleased. Still 2.5 lbs below where I was a year ago!

Thanks, Patti! I think it is because I have change how I eat completely. I'm not even counting calories. I now eat primarily whole foods plant based (very little animal products, lots of fruits and veggies, some whole grains, some legumes, and nuts and seeds) and I limit sugar intake.

Welcome along in our *Challenge*... although its really your own personal Journey! Since you are new to Spark...please don't hesitate to ask any questions around this website: either here, or in the various message threads. The site is almost overwhelming in its scope!! The parts that have become essential to me are the Nutrition Tracker, and the Message Boards. I also love many of the articles...with the exception of anything that says (sponsored) in the subtitle. Advertising hidden as "news" always irritates me....

In any case.... best wishes on your Journey towards better health!!

As for me... I'm finally starting to see some more consistent 'spring' numbers. I always go up some in the winter and on vacations.... The good news was that this winter that high was lower than the previous winter. Last summer I made it down to the very top of my maintenance range. Hoping for getting firmly there this summer...and *staying* there. Those last 5 to 10 pounds is definitely a personal challenge, so I feel good about any progress.

Hi everyone! I am brand new to Sparkpeople so I'm still trying to get the hang of it but I saw this challenge and thought it's be a great one to join. I always enjoy the motivation! I am setting a goal of losing 5 lbs by the end of this month.

A small bit of a WooHoo for me. I *usually* gain some water weight while traveling, and then catch up after 2-3 days at home... nothing new here. My first day at home 2 March was 140.1 (up from pre-vacation of 137.7) so about normal for me. Today though: 135.3 Oh My-- I like this-- and I'm going to try to hold on to it.... Have a good week!
