I like your description. The number on the scale is like a weather vane. I am going to remember that it just seems more gentle and kind.

Tawney.... you have been really consistent for several months! I think you are going to be just fine with your decision to wait.... I hope that the anxiety of "what's it really doing" doesn't take away from the positive parts on your Journey.

Personally, the only times I haven't weighed is when I'm travelling---but that's my mini version of OCD--LOL. The good news is that I've been watching the changes long enough that I'm not terribly bothered by what number comes up. It's like a weather vane: do I need to go this way today (more control) or that way( keep it up!) and I only track my weekly average. And speaking of which:

1 Feb: 139.5
10 Feb: 140.6
16 Feb: 137.7 so a win!
This is my last reading and post until March, as we are off traveling again. I would start the next month's thread, but seems a bit early yet.... I'll be back online in early March. Take Care all....One Decision At a Time!!

Good Morning everyone,
I have kept away from the scale all month. I plan to weigh on February 28th. I am really hoping for a loss but am also nervous about it. 12 days to go. This has not been easy and I know it is the longest I have not weighed myself in many many moons and many many years.
I want to get away from the scale having the power to dictate my thoughts about myself and my actions with food.

Patti: That's why the scale isn't a completely accurate was of seeing weight loss. So much affects if.

Changing goal from 6 to my usual 4. I would feel better meeting 4 than not meeting 6!

Good start Char!

Just returned from a few days out in the forests and snows near Mt Rainier. Even with the mostly foggy- misty-rainy weather, we still enjoyed some short times of sunshine with snowy landscapes and one evening of crystal clear "reach out and touch" stargazing. We accomplished about 15 miles of mixed snowshoeing, hiking and walking and I'm very pleased that it didn't "wipe me out"--LOL! Now back to reality... ahem....

Not surprising my first weigh in back here is up a bit:
1 Feb: 139.5
10 Feb: 140.6
emoticon EDIT: and today, 11 Feb: 139.1 so some progress!

Its a point in time though, not my usual weekly average, so I believe it will drop some this week. Obviously--- I *need* to work on that!!

If I keep this up I will only lose 2 lbs this month instead the 6 I need to, but a least the scale is going in the right direction!

Char...Good goal for you then!! I think the reason some of us like this 2-5lbs goal is that some of the other boards seem to have more pressure with meeting higher goals. Its especially difficult when you get close enough to 'see' that goal weight just ahead...because those last 5-15lbs are so s-l-o-w! Personally...I'm happy to see anyone go for their own goal!!

I am trying something different this month. I have put the scale away and do not plan to weigh again until February 28. I want to lose the obsession with weighing. I hope this works.
