Downer: didn't make my goal, and actually gained a bit.
Upper: my overall weight loss this past six months was enough to drop the dose of my Blood Pressure Meds. Now THAT is a *WIN* in my book!! And... I promised my Doctor that I am still aiming for the 130 goal he gave me. So on to October with renewed effort!
May you all find an "upper" in your day! emoticon

Sorry I haven't been here, but I was one of the unfortunate ones that was in Hurricane Irma's path. I live in a mobile in S Ft Myers. I booked a flight out on Sunday, then as time progressed it turns out that is the day the Hurricane is suppose to hit. A friend drove dwn from N of Tampa to get me (200 miles)on Wednesday b4 hurricane to get ahead of evacuation. Gas was already getting difficult to find. We took everything important, including a freezer full of food and my pet bird Oliver the umbrella cockatoo.

This is the first year in 17 yrs I have not had insurance on my place. I was stressed the whole thing would be blown away. I prayed a lot. The power wasn't restored until last Friday and I returned home on Monday. There were huge trees down very close by. I lost a small tree at the corner of my home. Ironically, I was wondering how much of a task it would take to dig it up a few weeks ago. My neighbor in back lost his carport. I am very blessed. My home was spared.
My friend did not have internet. We went to the Library after the Hurricane but it was closed, then the Wifi was down. When the restaurants started to open up, they had what were called Hurricane Menu's, basically meaning nothing healthy.

I will be forever grateful to my friend for rescuing me. We did have a good time together. We got to chat a lot. We spent time in her pool. We went to a few thrift stores and out to eat. It kind of turned into a mini vacation for me, which I enjoyed very much, especially the last few days when I found my home was still intact. I didn't lose any food other than what we ate. A lot of healthy dishes I made and put in freezer.
Now its back to business. I have been planting grow boxes the last couple days. Things are getting back to normal.

My week's average was up...but the last three readings were below it. I still have time to get to my goal....to will take dedication and planning on my part.

Welcome along Ames!! As you can tell from the thread this is a fairly "loose-knit" and positive group. None of the "OMG you didn't check in!!" rules I've read on some of the BLC's. Some of us have been sharing this path for awhile now, and we've seen the Ups and Downs this Journey takes: Times to Celebrate...and Times to humbly accept that this is in no way a linear, downhill path. LOL

It looks like you are off to a very good start for the month---and inspiring the rest of us!! Way To Go!!

My mid-week is looking OK...up just a bit...but I'm working on this. Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday...and starting to look forward to the weekend. My prayers and thoughts for so many families that are affected by the hurricanes, flooding and fires going on now. The most hopeful phrase my Grandmother taught me is:
"The Bible never says "And it came to stay...."
It always says: "And it came to pass..."
May this be so for all of us....

A bit late checking in...as we were gone to Mt Rainier this weekend. We enjoyed one day of volunteer replanting work with friends...and then some great hiking two other days. Its a wonderful place to humbly discover how out of shape one really is--Something about hiking six miles with a 1800' altitude gain--all above 5400'--gives one a reality check. (Especially with groups of mountaineers sauntering on by on their way to the 9500' snow fields where they will summit the 14,485' mountain from the following day!) We were rewarded sufficiently with sweeping views, huckleberries, and good friendship!!

I did get in class on Saturday and 20,000 steps shopping with hubby, always a fun time having to go everywhere to find the right one.... But lots of steps. Sunday was a rest day with too much junk food, it happens it's a holiday. Monday was training for worlds and class which I did so calories burned, I also walked a lot. Yesterday was rest day with cardio, I didn't have training and needed to check in first. Today was more training for worlds lots of deadlifts and bridge presses with cardio, it felt good, I have two classes tonight so Hope to get some of that in, depends on how I feel. I don't push it too much these days to get in recovery. I have more training the next couple of days as I'll be back to training 4-5 days a week till worlds to get as strong as possible. Looking forward to the weekend and getting some things done around the house again. Very productive weekend last weekend so that's always good. I need to go on a sugar fast and get that back out of my system. I can tell when I have been eating sugar. Eating clean getting lean and mean. Always a work in progress. Have a great Wednesday.

HI everyone...
We didn't have much chance for exercise this weekend---all hiking plans were scrapped due to *heavy* (!) forest fire smoke.... I did enjoy some great workouts in the local pool since they had some of the hand "float" resistance barbells---and I can feel it in my shoulders and arms tonight.

There was a bit too much evening snacking though, so I have a few pounds for the scale to suffer under.... LOL I expect that will drop over the next few days!

I'm in, I had a lot of sugar this holiday weekend and need to have this come to a stop now moving forward to worlds. I know it's the thing that causes so much gain and has no health benefits. I know once I clean up my diet I can get back to my routine and feel better. Been sleeping better the arm is feeling much better so that helps. The hours are getting shorter so I need to make more time for walks with the dogs when I can. Had a very busy weekend as well and did get a lot of task completed that we needed to get done. That's always nice, I feel like I haven't been home long enough and had the opportunity to get it accomplished. Now to move into fall and get back to my goal weight, have a great Tuesday.
