Made it! It was a struggle this month as I had a bad, bad head and chest cold. But I forced myself to keep exercising on most days. That's why I like this challenge: it spurs me to push myself a bit to achieve my goal.

My bad head cold turned into a bad chest cold and my lungs have been full of junk -- lots of problems with coughing. So I took a couple of days off from exercise, but managed to do some today, taking some little breaks when I started coughing from the heavy breathing.

I do not have any set workout plans - just mostly walk - and do a few of the videos here on SparkPeople. And in the summer, love playing in the dirt. Don't have a lot of space, but do love that we live just above the river here in Pendleton.

Just looking for a new challenge and found this one - looks like one for me.
I start the challenges given, but seem to fall off about half way thru. The variety of activities just does not seem to motivate me. However, am thinking this one just might - but will need someone challenging me occasionally. Thanks, barb

180 min /rest of June - # of minutes today / # of minutes remaining.

I post 10 min/day for 6 days a week. Gonna start small - with numbers I can do.
How long does it take to create a habit??

6/12 180 - 10 today - 170 remaining.
6/13 180 - 15 today - 155 remaining. Watered flowers.
6/14 180 - 10 today - 145 remaining. Walking.
6/15 180 - none today - stuck indoors with an upset stomach.
6/16 180 - 15 today - 130 remaining. Gardening - planted a couple more flowers and weeded some.
6/17 180 - 30 today - 100 remaining. Cleaning - big time.
................- 20 80 remaining. Planted a dianthus and watered yard by hand.
6/18 180 - none today - did some baking and knitting - and a long nap!
6/19 180 - none today
6/20 180 - 20 today - 60 remaining. Planted some allysum and hand watered.
6/21 180 - None today - boy, do i ever need to get on the "bandwagon"!!

My work has been crazy busy for the past couple of months ... but today, I finished the last big project on my plate. Work should return to a normal pace starting tomorrow.

To celebrate ... I stepped it up a bit today while exercising. Did a good 40 minutes and tried my best the whole way through the DVD.

I've got short legs as well--- seems to be a theme here! LOL I have always walked fast though: in 4th grade, my best friend (who lived between my house and school) influenced me to "walk fast". perpetually late in the mornings when we walked to school together,....and about 8" taller than myself! I LOVE walking...and hiking... and to this day, walk fast most of the time!

I sure understand what you mean about walking slow because you have short legs. I'm the same. In fact, I don't like to walk with my husband because he has very long legs and walks too fast for me.
It's better if I walk alone and can go at my own pace.

May was a bit crazy for me, too ... but it wasn't family issues. It was work stuff. But things are starting to calm down and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping that after I finish 2 major projects this week, things will finally be back to normal and I can have a sane summer. I am a little behind schedule in my exercise minutes this month and need to get back on track.

I hope things are OK with your family now.

Hi again everyone! Last month my Life was turned upside down---went on Grandma Duty for three weeks to help out my son's family... then traveling a bit. Computer time was essentially non-existant. Fortunately, I was able to keep up with exercise: pushing a stroller with two little girls most days, or stationary bike riding at the YMCA....

This month we are *pushing* to prepare for a week long bike ride: so my goal is 2+ hours a day. Crazy, but do-able. Then mid-month, we drive back east....

I walked outside today for 25 minutes -- and tried to walk a little faster than usual. Normally, I am very slow as I have short legs and a very short stride. So one of my goals for this summer is to try to speed it up a bit.

My start this month was not so great. I tried a new DVD routine that is simply too hard for me at this time. I could do the first 15 minutes, but then the moves were types that I couldn't do. After trying for a bit, I decided to call it quits and just count the first 15 minutes that I actually did.

In this challenge, we simply track our fitness minutes. Set your own goal as to how many minutes you wish to exercise in June (2017) and keep us posted as to how you are doing. The following format is recommended - but not required. Whatever works for you is fine here.

I'm going to set my official goal at a modest 600 minutes -- which is my usual goal. That's equal to 30 minutes per session, 5 days per week for 4 weeks.
