I'm in Branson now and having a good time. Saw Moses show at the Sight & Sound Theater and it was fun. Beautiful costumes, special effects, and animals. Will view the eclipse today with our special glasses. I thought I was getting more steps in than my Fitbit says. I think the heat makes me feel like I'm being more active than I really am.

You're going to the beach very soon and I hope you have a fun time. I find it hard to walk on the sand. It really works those calf muscles. It's raining off an on so I'm about to do a Leslie Sansone video. I watched that movie you mentioned--The Last Word and liked it. Shirley MacLaine is one of my favorite actresses.

I know what you mean about the teachers looking like kids. I have 3 grandkids and my oldest just turned 11 and is going in middle school. When i was in middle school (or we called it jr high....back in my day we also did not go there till 7th grade but here they do 6th) the teachers seemed much older. Lol

It has been hot and humid here so I am only exercising and walking inside. Praying that it will be nice when I go to the beach next week. Either way I love the beach so I will enjoy it.

Don't do much cleaning.......it nevers seems to go away.

Oh I watched a good movie with Shirley Maclaine The Last Word it's at redbox.

I'm really sore and stiff today so I'm just going to walk--and do a lot of housework. Ugh. Our days are slightly cooler, low 80's. That's nice but sure wish the humidity wasn't so high.
The kids are starting school soon. I went with my late sister's youngest granddaughter to her school open house. She lives with her father and he had to work. it was interesting. The teachers all looked like kids to me!
Got to get busy. Have a good day and keep walking.

Yes Nancy we CAN and WILL do this!!!
My ex daughter in law can be the most difficult person I know, but I do it for the kids. My step son was married to her and they had 1 daughter (the light of my life) she is now remarried and has 2 more and since I am the only Maw Maw I have claimed them too!!

I am NEVER going to be skinny and don't want to be. My goal is to reach 180 (I am 215ish right now) But I feel pretty good just want to really be in ONEderland. LOL

I'm still walking and doing my Silver Sneakers. I've been also doing a video on You Tube for beginner yoga---extremely beginner. It's for people who are not very limber and that's me!
That's nice that you can get along with an ex-in-law. I've managed to stay friendly with an ex-mother-law. Her son and I divorced 25 years ago and he passed away 4 years ago. My daughter and I are meeting her in Branson in 2 weeks. We've rented a condo for the week. The 3 of us have taken several vacations together. She's in her 80's and refuses to sit home. I think we both are determined to get along because my daughter loves us both.
I also love the beach and the seafood and the atmosphere. And I too just wade in a little ways. Hope you have a great time.
I've had a terrible time losing weight even though I'm pretty good at keeping active. If I lost 30 pounds I would be at a healthy weight (not skinny, but healthy). My goal right now is to lose 20 in 6 mos. before my next dr visit. We can do this!

I hear you about walking indoors only!!! This heat is nothing to play with. The last few days I have been doing it alone as my ex daughter in law's husband is on vacation this week so she is spending time with him and the kids. We normally do not get along very well but since I have been helping her lose weight she has been extremely nice to me. Lol And having an exercise buddy really helps me be accountable.

I am going with my husband to the beach 3 weeks from tomorrow for 3 days. He says he likes going to the beach but I would never know it as he rarely even walks on the beach let alone takes his shoes off and puts his feet in the water. As for me I LOVE the beach!!! Not big on getting in the water farther than my knees (Jaws the movie did me in as kid many, many years ago. Lol). But walking up and down the shores collecting shells and rocks keeps me entertained. I also just like sitting and watching the waves go in and out clears my mind and mentally helps.

I need to lose another 20 pounds and I will finally be in ONEderland!!!! My goal at this time is to reach 180 and if I can stay focused and committed I know I will be there by the end of the year.

Well I have rambled on long enough my friend, have a wonderful day and I hope to hear from you soon.

I'm still walking--all of it indoors. I look forward to cooler weather so I can start walking outside again. I miss it. I am enjoying my Silver Sneakers class. I hope you had a good trip. Sounds like you stayed active.

Hi Nancy!
Today I end my visit in Utah and fly back to NC tonight. I have been walking lots but not sure how many miles. Was in Park City yesterday and lots of uphill walking. Its very hot here but no humidity. Sorry to hear you have been sick, hope your feeling better. Will catch up woth you tomorrow.

Debbie, if sweat worked to lose weight then I would be skinny. I'm mowing my grass again, just 30 minutes at a time,then rest and cool off. I'm getting ready to go back out again. I've been doing some Leslie Sansone, Jessica Smith, and others I found on You Tube. I found a Jane Fonda walking one but haven't tried it yet. I think I will try the bars at GNC you mentioned. That's a good fiber content, which I can always use. Yes, I enjoy posting here and willing to keep going. It helps with the motivation. emoticon

Hi Nancy!

This humidity is ridiculous!!!! Wish I could just sweat away the pounds as I would be to my goal weight in a few days!!! Lol

Been doing Leslie videos. Went to the library and checked out like 6 different ones. Been averaging 60 to 70 minutes a session. Some of them are really old and kind of funny to watch but they all work.

I buy OhYeah One Bars (GNC is where I get them). I am hooked on the almond bliss!!! It has 230 calories, 21 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar, 9 fiber and 3 net carbs. I will do a full bar for lunch or if I have really worked out hard. Or a half a bar if I am just needing something sweet (they are really, really good!) Quest Bars are good for you too but not addicting like the One Bars. They have lots of flavors like Maple Donut, Blueberry Cobbler, Cinnamon Roll etc.

I know this walking challenge is coming to an end soon but I hope we can keep talking as I really enjoying hearing from you.

Happy Thursday!!! Not really feeling it today. When I went to GNC for my protein bars the clerk convinced me to try their new fat burner pill. I only took a half a dose and I didn't like the way it made me feel yesterday so today I skipped it but think it is still in my system? So far I have only did 1.5 miles and it was a struggle. Stomach is kind of upset (feels nauseous). Sorry for sharing so much. LOL

Walking in front of a fan is my kind of a walk. Lol.
Going to the gym twice in a day is awesome!! Woo Hoo!!!
I did a walk and kick video for 30 minutes and a walk and jog video for another 30 minutes and then 15 minute mile belly blasting all with Leslie. Going to gym tomorrow.

A friend of mine uses Planet Fitness. It's a great deal. Sunday my daughter and I went to a museum to see a beautiful glass exhibit. Part of it was displayed outside in the forest so I walked quite a lot. By the end, however, I was dripping from the humidity. I walked this morning early before it heated up and will go to the gym tomorrow. Have a good week. 🌞

Well I have been busy, but not too busy to walk. I keep hearing this little voice saying what if you were like your sister and could not walk then you would have a good excuse but since YOU can walk get off your butt and do it!!!!!

Been doing 3 to 4 miles a day. Mainly inside as the humidity here is killing me!!! I went to the library today and rented a few Leslie Sansone videos that I had not seen or done before. Looking forward to trying them out in the morning.

Planet Fitness has screens in some of their machines but did not know what they were for. LOL I pay $10 a month.

Yes my trip is 2 weeks from Thursday and I am so ready. Just hope that I am not stuck in the hospital for a good part of the time.

Ceekay, yay! Leslie Sansone is great isn't she. Debbie your trip is coming up soon and I know you are looking forward to it. I did 3 miles today at the new fitness center at our community center. Their treadmills & elliptical have a screen where you can log into your Netflix or Hulu account and watch movies/tv shows. (I am easily impressed). The best thing is membership is $7/month for seniors. Have a good weekend. 👟👟👟

OK things are getting back down to normal. I have been walking one way or another. Yesterday I did 4 miles, today I only have 2 in, the humidity here today too much for me to go any more. Will try and do more in the house later.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going to finish my spring cleaning and get ready for my trip to Utah in less than 3 weeks!!!

Debbie, so sorry to hear about all your sister is going through and will say a prayer for her. Both of my sisters are gone now and I remember how much I hurt when they were suffering. So I hope you get plenty of rest and be kind to yourself. ❤️
We'll keep up our walking, whether it's 4 miles or at least one mile a day. (Yes, only one mile today). I want to get up early tomorrow and walk outside before it gets too hot.

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. I have been walking 4 miles a day as well. We have been having rain (more like heavy down pours and then its gone and its hotter and more humid than ever!). Plus I have a sister who was paralyzed in a car accident over 10 years ago. But she went to the hospital for what she thought was a bad UTI and it turned out she has MRSA. So been a scary weekend dealing with that, but the positive side is that it is not in her heart so she can hopefully get rid of it with what they are doing, (She has had a blood transfusion, a pic line for antibiotics and will be amputating her foot and ankle). Sorry did not need to tell you all that but guess I just needed to share it.

You are doing awesome with your walks!! Way to go!!!! Thank you Nancy for also being a friend. emoticon

I walked one mile yesterday then I had lunch with my elderly brother-in-law. He had a few errands lined up for me to drive him to. Our usual Wednesday routine. Today I did 4 miles this morning at the gym. Warm and humid out there. If I want to walk outside again I need to get an early start.

Where did yesterday go? I walked but nothing like I have been doing.

Today I got close to 4 miles in and just getting ready to do another 2 with Leslie. I have exactly 4 weeks till I board the plane to see my family it Utah which I have not seen in a year. Hopefully they will be able to see the 60 pounds I have lost. But either way I feel better and I am doing this for me!!!!

I truly believe we will always have obstacles that get in our way of exercise. The trick is to adapt and still do what we need to do. LOL

My day got all turned around today for numerous reasons. I have not even exercised all today but it is still early and I will. Right now I am spending some time with my granddaughter. But later when she goes home I will walk and exercise.

The handyman was here 2 days working on my back door. The door frame had to be replaced and a new storm door installed. He had to replace some siding trim. He was over an hour late both days would leave for 2 hr lunch. I can't get too irritated with him because he did great work, didn't go over the price we agreed on, and is a nice guy. It just tied me up for 2 days. Anyway, I got in one mile each day plus yard work and today is a new day. I think summer has arrived.

I did 4 miles today again. I think I am pushing so hard as I go to visit my family in Utah (who I have not seen in a year) in 5 weeks. I had originally set a goal which I am less than 10 pounds away. But since I have 5 weeks I think I should set my goal to lose at least another 5 or so pounds. Lol

I'm still walking, too. I did 4 miles Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday, & 4 today. Some was on a treadmill and some outside. I also found a Biggest Loser walking video on You Tube that I enjoyed. I like Leslie Sansone but I need variety to keep me motivated. I'll get a late start tomorrow as I have a handyman coming early to do some work.

Well I have missed a day or two here but not in my walking. I have done between 3 and 4 everyday. Today granddaughter graduated elementary school so I just went to the gym after the program. I got 2 miles in on the treadmill as well as some toning. But I plan to get back up to 3 tomorrow.

Just did one mile yesterday and today. Busy with housework today. Debbie, you're doing great. I'm going to try for more tomorrow. Just figured out how to stream some of the Spark videos on my tv. I could watch them on my iPad, but it's easier to see on tv. Where did everyone go? They may still be. Walking and just not posting.

Monday! Monday! Well so far I have done 3 miles......was very hard but oh so gratifying when I finished. Going to try and do another mile .....or 2?

Went to the gym and did some toning and then a few minutes of the treadmill, elliptical, stair master & a mile on bike. Overall I think I did pretty good.

But as I was sitting her tonight I felt guilty as I really had not tracked a mile walking. And that is the point of this challenge. So I went in and popped in Leslie and did a mile then I said well let's go for 2 (was sweating and huffing and puffing by the time it ended) but I said well you went 2 might as well as finish the video so I did the whole 3. And it was harder than the others or I was extra tired. But I did it and I am very proud of myself. Just hope I can walk in the morning, Ha! Ha!

Way to go Nancy, 4 miles is awesome!!! I did 3 miles (all at once with Leslie this morning. And let me tell you it kicked by behind!). Very proud that I made it thru (barely) but looking down on my pedometer and seeing 6,000 plus steps before lunch sure brightens my day. Now if I can just walk when I wake up in the morning.


Well I purchased a pool to let my grandkids swim so I am off to get wet. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I walked 4 miles yesterday! I might try that again next year. Ha Ha. No, I didn't do it all at once. Had to split it up.
Debbie, the class I found is at our Community Center. It's a Silver Sneaker exercise group and all I have to do is pay the center membership, which is super cheap. ($7 a month). Some of the senior centers have free exercise classes also. It's easier to work out with people in my age range. Have a good weekend.

Great going on the 2 miles. I wish I had a exercise class I could go to. I have looked around but have not found anything. Hope you enjoy your new class.

Well another day and another 2 miles. I did get 1 more mile in yesterday as well. I am just going to keep pushing and pretty soon I will be doing 3 or 4 miles without any problems.

Can you believe today is the last day of May? This month just flew by! The older I get the faster the times goes. I wish it would slow down like when we were kids. Seemed like to to forever for our birthdays or Christmas to get here. Ha! Ha!

You're right about how it gets easier the more you do it. I've noticed that if I have a lazy day or two, I have to work harder at it the next day. Remember that saying--use it or lose it!

Just got back from a 2 mile walk outside. I was headed to the gym when I realized the days are coming soon that it'll be too hot & humid to walk outside. I think when I go to the gym I'll still try to walk outside at least 10 minutes because it's good for the spirit. Also, I heard that just 10 minutes outside may give us plenty of vitamin D.

This weekend is starting off right! Just did 2 miles and some arm toning exercise. Getting ready to do another mile in the next hour.

I am staying home too Nancy. Need to pull some weeds and finish some mulch in my flower beds at the front of the house. But I am going to try and do a few fun things with my 10 year old granddaughter, perhaps take her to the move?

I live in northwest Arkansas in the Ozark mountains--so it's usually a little cooler than the rest of the state. I have errands to run today and yard work to finish before the storms start tomorrow. I plan to walk at least a mile. I'm not leaving town for the holiday weekend. I just made a trip 3 weeks ago to a family reunion and placed flowers at 3 cemeteries. I need to make a decoration for one more cemetery near me and will get together with my daughter who lives in a nearby town. Whatever your plans are for this weekend, I hope everyone stays safe and enjoys.

emoticon Great Job Nancy! You must live in the South like I do? I am in North Carolina and this morning it said the temp was 59 with 100% humidity! I am originally from Utah and have been here for 11 years and back home we complained if it ever got above 30% humidity.

Today was my best day yet of walking. I was really not feeling it this morning but I did 2 miles before 10:30 and just finished another mile. So far today that's 3 for me.

I think it hit home that I have 49 days until I go see my family in Utah. Have not seen them in a year and want to look better. Not to mention have more room on the plane. LOL

Happy Wednesday!!! Well I had plans for 3 miles today but due to the rain I only got 2 in. But we have been doing this for 50 days so are half way there.

Wow a spa, now that would make me want to go the gym more. Unfortunately Planet Fitness does not offer anything like that.

Nancy glad you get to go walking outdoors, enjoy the fresh air.

I went over to my daughter in laws and did my mile and toning exercises and also got to see 2 of my 3 grandchildren. What a plus!! Think I will do it again tomorrow. But right now I am getting ready for my second mile of the day. I have a goal of 3 miles today.

Where did the weekend go? I got my mile in at they gym today as well as did some strength training on the machines. Funny I think I enjoy my videos more than the gym but both are good.

Happy Friday! Just did a mile and my arm toning exercises! The tops of my shoulders are sore today.......of all places. LOL Guess all that arm exercising where I was lifting my arms up high did it. I swear you always lose weight in the places you need it the least first!! LOL

Happy Thursday! Since giving myself the little pep talk the other day I am refreshed and ready to do whatever is needed to get the rest of this weight off.

Since I love the Leslie Sansone videos I decided to try her app for a month (since the first month is free I only have pounds to lose) and she had a different walk video everyday except Sunday which she calls rest day. I got lucky and yesterday was only 10 minutes. But I did a 15 minute mile in the morning plus my arm toning and then did another 15 minute mile last night.

Today I have done a 15 minute mile and arm toning and getting ready to log on and see what Leslie has in store for me today.
