Hi Izzy,
I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have shared with you. Guess I was in my 'black hole' longer than I thought. Dr. Service has increased one of my meds and it seems to be helping.

I am so sorry it has been so long.

I went through a period of time when I didn't care about anything. Mostly I just slept and ate. But I did manage to get a little laundry done and make dinner most nights.

I have decided I need to start doing something...anything. I am a total couch potato and that has to end. So, I went and joined our local Community Center. They have so much to offer. A huge pool, sauna, hot tub, work out area, walking track and a senior area where they play cards, bingo, go on day trips etc. And the nice thing is there is no cost to me. My insurance pays for it. Its called Silver Sneakers. A lot of insurance companies offer it. When the girls go back to school, in about two weeks, I plan I on using the facilities. I won't take Richard.
He has gotten where all he wants to do is sleep or watch TV. His memory is getting worse and he gets more 'ugly' with the girls. We are having a social worker coming out soon to see what our options are about him going somewhere, Twice now he has scared Mark cause he would ask him where the kids were and he said he didn't have a clue. They were at a friends house. Another time they were with me. And Richard didn't have a clue where we had gone. We can't leave him alone with the girls.

Anyway, that's all that is going on here.

I had climbed back up to 196 and I said 'oh no you don't". So, I tried to be more careful, though I am not doing really well yet, but I have the scales down to 192. I am thankful for that, I am anxious to get back under 190 again. When I start going to the gym a couple of times a week and swimming, it should show a difference. I want to walk too. Build up my endurance.

Your knee should be doing well by now, right???
I hope all is going well with you. You haven't forgotten about my have you ???
I thought about you often this last month but just couldn't get me to do anything about anything. I am afraid that included you too. I'm sorry.

I know about the eating myself crazy....lol

I am glad you can walk some without help. You will get a little stronger each day.
I'm sure you will get back to work soon. Staying home can drive a sane person
insane. Don't know what my excuse is....haha I am starting to do a little bit outside the house and not taking hubby with me, Feels pretty good. Think I will start adding a little more time out.

Things are normal around here. Same ol' same ol', ye know???!!! Except Elena has started her flute lessons last week. Teacher says she is doing very well. No one else signed up during her time slot so she has one on one with the teacher. I am really pleased with that.

Weather has been great. Today was a day you could just get lost in. About 78 degrees, partly sunny with a nice breeze. Kids played in pool today so I sat out and watched them. Boo Boo with computer. Must shut down....later my friend.

Thanks for all your prayers and keeping me in mind. I am recovering slowly and still have to use a walker. Wednesday will be a week sense the surgery on my knee and I do ok during the day, but night it hurts like crazy. I have been off my diet eating whatever is available and mostly bad. It will be a while before I will be walking normally. I am glad to hear you are doing ok and keep staying focused, you be below the 190's before you know it.

Hi Izzy

Hopes this finds you feeling well, with little or no discomfort. I have thought about
you a lot and are keeping you in my prayers.

So, are you walking around the block or a mile yet???? Hopefully soon.

I am doing pretty good. Still having a problem getting me under control, but I am working on it. I have gained 4 lbs, am up to 192, and I seem to be stuck there.

I hope the saying that it doesn't matter how many times you fall as long as you get back up again and keep going forward. Cause I sure seem to fall a lot.

I havn't been doing much. Have been so terribly tired all the time. Went to my heart doctor. I have 'breaks' in my heart beats; my heart beat has gone as high as 250's. That is way too high. The doctor is to call me and see what they want to do about it.

Well, its late and I need to hit the hay. Gotta take hubby to doctor Wednesday.. He had blood work done and his glucose reading was 214. Way to high. He may be diabetic.I hope not. He is limited in what he can have, must keep the salt as low as possible and if I have to limit his sugar and carbs....well, that would be really rough. Will have to wait and see.

Great to hear from you and thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I am doing better and can move the knee a little. I did have a great July 4th and ate way to much. I am glad yours was good as well. I am going to try and get back on track tomorrow, I would like to have some pizza before. LOL I hope that things go well with your heart and they can get it right. Well back to bed more rest. check with you later.

Hi Izzy,

Glad to hear your surgery went well. The soreness and stiffness won't last too long. Glad they got the arthritis. That can really hurt, I know....

Hope you had a good July 4th. I did. Had a BBQ and just hung out. Later in the evening we had s'mores outside over a nice fire, Mark put off some fireworks and the girls had their sparklers. It was just a very nice peaceful time.

Went in for my pacemaker checkup. Seems sometimes I get a break in my heart beat and it goes up into the middle and upper two hundreds. Doctor will call me when he figures out what to do about it. I may have to have a new pacemaker that monitors both high and low heart beats. The one I have now only monitors the low beats before it kicks in. I am absolutely exhausted most of the time and they tell me the heart beating to high causes that exhaustion. We shall see.....

So, how was your 4th???? Did you eat what you wanted??? I pretty much did.. I remembered what you said about life being too short. Only being diabetic I was a 'little bit' careful...LOL

Well, I won't keep you. Your rest is really important right now. Write when you feel better. You are kept in my prayers.

Good Morning Lynn
How are things going? I hope that you are doing well. I had my knee surgery yesterday and I am recovering fairly well. My pain is down some what and I my leg is stiff of course. I have to keep it elevated until Saturday and keep pressure off. I hope this surgery works. Dr. said I had a bad tare and a lot of Arthritis in which he removed as much as he could. Well I guess time will tell. Ok back to sleeping, just wanted to check in.

Good morning Lynn
Sorry that I have been so busy getting ready for surgery next Wednesday. Its hopefully a simple surgery. But there will be some stiffness and swelling so I will need to take it easy for a few days. My sister on the next day has to have a pace maker implanted. Her heart beat is very low(33 beats per minute) they said she stopped breathing a lot while sleeping during the night. I hope I am able to go to be with her during surgery. They can not put her t sleep, they will numb the area. Boy! It seems that everything happens at one time.
Well my dear, Its July 4th weekend coming up and that mean wonderful outings. I am going to try and eat healthy, but I am not skipping all the good foods. Life is to short not to enjoy. Have a great day.

Hi Izzy,

Glad you are doing ok. I understand not doing so good with the meals tho. I too am having a bit of a problem. I got a few groceries today so I have a few good choices, but I need to buy more. This weekend I hope.

Sorry to hear you did not do as well as you had hoped with that doctor supervised diet. I went to a doctor, oh my goodness, 50 years ago and he put me on pills and vitamin B12 shots. The pills were 'uppers' but I did lose 25 lbs in a little bit of time. Gained it all back when I got pregnant with my first child and was never able
to get it off again. Been struggling all these years with my weight. I have not been under 200 lbs. since 1971. But I did reach 312 lbs in 2003. Now I am struggling to get down to 165. But, I am sure gonna try to make it there. I have about 26 lbs to lose yet. Sure does look like a lot to me.......But I will do it.....may take me a little bit more time than I would like, but I am sure gonna try.

I went for a walk outside today. After dinner. It had sure gotten chilly once 6pm comes around. There was a breeze that made it feel cold. But it was nice to go for a walk., even tho it was for only for 15 minutes. I feel refreshed.

I was not as good as I should have been with my menu today. A little too many carbs. But tomorrow will be better, I do have better food choices in the house now.

Well, American's Got Talent is on, and I am a fan so I must go for now. Have a good night and will talk to you soon.

I am doing ok but not great when it comes to my meals. I still need to get back on track totally. Its hard when you fall off plan, but I can do this. The plan is very strict and cost me and my husband almost $4000.00. Never again! I could kick myself for agreeing to it. but together we have lost 65 pounds. My husband 40, me 25. So not a total loss. I am glad you are doing better and watching those carbs. Keep it up and you will be fine.

Hi Izzy,
Hope you had a nice weekend. It is now about 9pm on Sunday.

Yesterday Z and Mark and the girls went strawberry picking. They brought home 60 pounds of berries., We sure have a lot of jam.....it tastes really good. She uses less sugar than they say to, but I still have to be very careful. Cannot eat it
every day.

Menu for today:

Breakfast
eggs 2
1 sl toast
coffee w/cream

Lunch
4'' sub
1/2 small sweet potato
16 grapes

Dinner:
1/2 c fried rice - homemade
1 tomato, sliced
banana

Snacks:
None

I am trying to cut back on the bread, but it is hard....did not realize how much I do eat it. But I will get there. I did not get groceries yet. Was not feeling well on Friday or Saturday but plan on going tomorrow. You should see a difference in what I eat.

It has been crazy, weather wise, for the last couple of weeks. For a few days it is really nice, upper 70's, low 80's...just beautiful, then it turns cold with lots and lots of rain. This morning it was 55....which is really cold to me,...They just resurfaced
our street and now it is without anything to trip me up so I can start going for a walk outside If the weather ever permits it. I would look mighty silly walking outside in June with a winter coat on don't you think???? LOL

So, how is your weight loss program going???? Have you started back on it yet?? Sounds like it was working for you. I am going to try to get some SlimFast tomorrow, at least the shakes for a few days and see how it goes.

How is work treating you??? Busy I bet. Are you ready for your knee surgery yet.
As ready as anyone can get. My prayers are with you always.

Hope you are eating properly so you don't feel like 'crap' anymore. I certainly can associate with that. Being diabetic if I don't stay on track, which I have not been doing very well, then I feel like crap too. Not a good feeling. Self-inflicted so there is no sympathy for me huh.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and having you tell me of all the positive things that are happening for you.

Good Evening Izzy,
I feel like I could float away. I got enough water today...just hope I don't spend all night in the bathroom.....but, if it helps lose the weight it will be worth it.

You're right....my weaknesses are sweets and bread, any kind of bread. And a lot of times I crave salt, like chips. I really did not realize I had so many carbs yesterday. I look at lower calories rather than carbs. I can see that has to change. The problem I am having right now is no extra money for non-carb foods. I am going to have to try to get creative. Hopefully the money situation will get better and grocery shopping will be productive. I have to be careful too because of me being diabetic.

I wish I was better structured, under someones supervision. I really need it. See, I know what to do, its just doing it. There is a big gap between the two of them.

I am thinking about going on the Slim Fast program for a month to retrain my brain
about food. Have a shake for breakfast and lunch and one of their snacks in the
afternoon and a 'real' dinner...protein, veggie and fruit. If that is all I allow me to
eat and I know it is, well, maybe it will help me. What do you think???? Is it worth
the try???

Can you tell me anything about your program??? I am really interested.

Menu for today:

Breakfast:
Egg Beaters
1 sl light toast

Lunch:
chicken thigh
sweet potato
banana

Dinner:
Pizza (Friday is pizza night at our house)

Snacks:
popcorn

I know its not too good, but like I said, our cupboards are really bare. I go grocery
shopping tomorrow so I can get some cottage cheese and yogurt and fruit. Then
things will look a little better.

I really need encouragement to walk on the treadmill. Since I fell I am really afraid
of walking outside. I could not get up by myself if I fell....it actually would take two
people to get me up.

There is no good reason for me to not walk on the treadmill. It is right on the other
side of the wall my computer is on. I can listen to music or watch something on my Netflex. OK, buddy....you help me with the carbs....what can you do to help with the treadmill.....HELP......

My short term goal is to get down in the 170's. I am not going to put me on a time
to reach that cause it is too frustrating when I don't reach my goal. So, I will concentrate on losing a pound at a time, adding the treadmill and drinking all my water. That should be enough for now don't you agree???

Long term goal....weigh between 150-160.....TBD as I get closer.

Well, as usual, I look forward to hearing from you and getting your input. I hope all is going well with you.

So, lets drink, drink, drink, (which we do) exercise...questionable.....and cut out the bread and sweets as much as possible.

Sounds like you have a good start, I drink 1/2 my body weight in oz. a day so that's about 98 oz. a day=12-13(8oz.) glasses. I need to get back on track with NO, SWEETS, NO BREAD! This is where I fall short and I see that it is your DOWN FALL as well. You are eating to many carbs. Look at breakfast:
Cream of wheat cereal(carbs) Toast(carbs)sweet potato(carbs) brownie(carbs =Sweets) some carbs turn to SUGAR. You are living on carbs, while there are good carbs there are BAD ones. The sweet potato is a good carb and your body needs good carbs. But bread and brownies, NO!
I think if you research the good and bad carbs would help you a lot. Now diet soda is a killer. It has been proven that diet drinks make you fatter and are very bad for you. You would be better off drinking a real soda ONCE in a while.
Lynn we both need to make much needed improvements and I am on a doctor supervised program and I have learned a lot. I have become bored with my choices because they are so STRICT. But the truth is I still want the BAD foods and I am still refusing to take his advise. when I started the program and followed his advise, I lost a POUND a day! Yep. I know of course that a pound a day is not long term sustainable or healthy. But my body was getting rid of all the bad build up of sugar, cholesterol, chemicals. I THINK I NEED to start that program all over AGAIN. I felt great, now I have been eating like my old self and I fell like CRAP!
We both need to eat healthy and add in some exercises and we will reach those goals. I am in! I will for the next 21 days do much better. Thanks I needed an eye opener.

Good Evening Izzy,

I have spent the last few days doing a lot of soul searching about my weight loss, or lack thereof. I sat in front of the mirror and had a really long talk to me. I would like to share some of this with you if I may. Use what you can to help you and cast aside what doesn't work.

I am responsible for me. No one else, just me. I am to eat to live, not live to eat. That has been part of the problem. I let food control me and it has a tight hold. I know it can be broken but only with a lot of hard work. I have just been coasting along for a while now, letting things fall as they will. All that does is frustrates me and sends me running to the snack box. Saying I will do better sounds good but is not so easy to do. If it was I would weigh 120 lbs.

So, I am going back to square one and starting again. I am going to make some good habits. They say it takes 21 consistent days for something to become a habit. For my first 21 days, I have decided to start with water. I will. and I mean will, drink 10 glasses of water a day. (8 oz glasses). I will document it so I am sure I am getting enough. In 21 days I will start a new good habit to go with this one.

I need to track. Sometimes it is a pain in the hinney, but it does work. It has been proven. I need to not be lazy...make it a habit while I am making my drinking water a habit too. Don't want to get overwhelmed.

Its not always easy to do what we know to do. That's why we need each other. To know I am not the lone ranger, but there is someone in my corner struggling as I am. Together, one day at a time, we can meet our goals. We need to do a little searching to determine exactly what our goals are. Short range and long term. Maybe we should make a list of those goals. And be realistic. We want to succeed not be overwhelmed.

I am going to again post what I eat each day. It helped, (*stepping on my toes*) about eating too many carbs, but I needed to hear it and I am trying to do better. And I think I am.

Izzy, I need you and I hope you need me. Lets not just send custie notes to each other. Lets let our hair down and really get to the core of this getting healthy thing. The weight loss thing is an added bonus....boy what a bonus huh.

It is almost July, well about a week away. Lets try the 21 day habit, drinking water, now so by the middle of July we can start really tracking faithfully. What do you think?

Well, I hope you will chew on this for a bit and let me know what you think.

Menu for today:

Breakfast:
Cream of wheat cereal
1 cup milk
1 sl light toast

Lunch:
Quesedilla - Taco Bell
Diet Soda

Dinner:
2 oz grilled pork chop

Great to hear from you as well and congratulations on your 8 pound loss. I am down about 6 but I can and will do better. Things have been busy and trying to finish up my class before knee surgery(July 5th). I would like to have lose ends tided up before then in case I need to be off my feed for a few days. I have been eating off plan for the last 3 days and I feel bloated. Well, back on track tomorrow. Lynn we need to really get excited about losing again. I need a BIG Push. Well I hope you will have a great week.

Glad to hear from you. Computer is down again so I am back to typing with one finger. Not as easy as one might think. emoticon

Am glad to hear of your weight loss. You go girl! I am so proud of you and your success.

I had gotten back up to 194 this last few weeks. I was in my dark place where I don't care about anything. My sugar, blood, weight...nothing. My sugar went up and so did my weight. I am happy to report that I am now out of that place. My sugar is under control and I have lost 8 pounds bringing me down to 186.2 Now I can. Concentrate on losing "new weight".

Glad your vacation went well and I hope you got lots of rest.
So, what did you bring me??? Isn't that what comes out of young'ens mouths the minute you see them????????LOL

All has been pretty quiet here. Don't have to keep girls entertained to much. Just have to hollar *POOL* and all is well.

Well, this one finger typing is wearing me out. Think I will go read for awhile.

Great to hear from you and I am proud of you getting back in control of your health.
I have lost 6 pounds sense Saturday and I hope that it keeps going. I have been so busy and working so hard. I am so tired and achy. I feel like I could stay in bed for a month. Well take care.

Have really been trying to eat better, am watching the carbs more so I can get my sugar under control. I am the only one who can do it. I went through a period of time that I just didn't care about me, my diet or my sugar. But, that has passed and I think I am back on the caring wagon. I'm glad you are in my corner cheering me on, as I am in yours....come on girl....we can do this.... emoticon

Well, today was pretty uneventful. Took the girls to an all childrens playground today. They love it there. There is so much for them to do. All I have to do is take a snack and water bottles and sit and watch them have a good time. Oh, and pick up a few 'rays' while I am at it...

We had a terrible storm Sunday am. Had to cancel church cause it was so bad. It was our Minnesota Hurricane almost a tornado too. The wind was breaking the limbs off the neighbors tree, thank God we were spared this time. It was really weird how when the storm passed there was no sign that there was a storm except for the tree limbs and all the branches laying around.

Well, I hope all is going well with you..How is work treating you? Bet you are staying busy huh. Sure wish I could get one of your manicures. My nails are a mess and I certainly pass the 'old folks age'....I guess 69 counts, doesn't it????

Glad that you got your computer back and working. I am back from vacation and I gained 4 pounds, now as you said 2 weeks to get off another 10. We can do this and we know how. It won't be easy but we can do it. Sounds like you have been busy and that's a good thing. Lets concentrate on the task at hand and be positive.

Hi Izzy,

It is Sunday evening, and I was wondering if you were home from your vacation yet and how it was. I want all the details....since I couldn't go. LOL But really I would like to know how it was.

I finally have my computer up and running. It is so nice. Only thing is, I don't have a light close enough to really see the keyboard, but that can be fixed. I'm afraid that won't help my typing tho. I type by feel, and boy have I been 'feeling' wrong....

Well, I guess its time for us to get back on the wagon and get this next 10 pounds off huh. I have been slacking so much. Have not been tracking at all. I gained about 6 lbs. and that puts me just over 190 which I said I would never do again. And, I'm sorry to say, my sugar has not been in range either. No excuses for me tho. I should never have let myself go so badly. But, tomorrow is a new week and I still have 2 weeks left this month. I am going to try very hard to watch my sugar 100 percent to try to get it in a better range and lose 5 lbs. You with me???? I know you are.

My DIL bought herself a gazebo for her birthday. We put it on the deck, which is on the upper level. It has the skitter netting and every thing. It is really nice. Went out and had coffee the other morning. Enjoyed it so much.

The kids pool is up and they are really enjoying it. They are out there every day and we practically have to drag them out. Gives me some fresh air time cause I sit out there and watch them play.

Well, can't think of anything else to say....what did I say????? LOL
But, really the dryer did go off and I need to take care of the clothes.

So happy for you and that you have a new bedroom. Vacation is going great and I have eaten way to much. It will be so nice to get back to healthy eating and my routine. I think this has been good for me and resetting my thoughts about food. Sometimes you have to take a step back to be able to move forward and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for the good advise and prayers. Yesterday was a crappy day for eating. I was so up set that I ate terribly and today I( am paying for it. Looking at your menu I can't see how you are losing. So many carbs and fat! You have to cut back on breads and process foods and SO DO I! emoticon Well I was pretty upset with the news of surgery and my weigh in at Dr.T's office. 1 pound in a month from
last weigh in in office. I really feel like throwing in the towel sometimes, but I will NOT. I am taking a week off my plan starting next Saturday and just enjoy a week of not worrying about food or surgery. I am burned out. I hope We both do well this weekend. Be safe, have fun and take care.

Happy Friday to ya....its about 7pm and am waiting for the pizza to arrive so I thought I would take a few minutes to stop by and say say "HI". Hi....LOL

What a wonderful day this is today. Weather is perfect, warm and balmy...love it.
We don't really have any plans for this weekend I think. Probably a BBQ but we do that almost every weekend so that's not really special. Is supposed to rain on
and off for the next few days. Naturally.

Elena did really good getting her tonsils out. She can hardly talk today and has some pain of course, but has meds to help with that. She wants to go play but she still needs a couple of days to recuperate.

I hope the surgery for your knee takes care of the whole problem for you. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. HE is able....

When you are tempted to 'overdo' this weekend just remember your vacation is only a little ways away and you need to look your best. Besides,....you have to answer to me and I am a hard master.....

I am glad the scales are coming down now. I also have been able to lose a couple of pounds. Makes us feel good huh.

I hope that things are going well for you. I got my results from the MRI yesterday and it was a Torn meniscus. I have to have surgery, but not for repair but to clean out under the knee cap. The doctor said I may need a knee replacement within the next 10 years and that the surgery my help with avoiding it. Lets hope so.
How have things been going for you? Well, its another holiday weekend and that means food. I will try to be good and watch the calories. We leave for the beach within the next 10 days. Oh, boy. Can't wait. Well hope to hear from you soon.

Where were you today??? MIssed not hearing from you.

I had a pretty much uneventful day, as usual. Took granddaughter to her doctor's
appointment for her pre-op. She is all ready to go on Thursday. Then I went to
the grocery store and walked, reached and bent over for an hour and a half. I guess that constitutes exercise, right??? And of course, there was that never ending laundry. I overdid some things today with my wrist and am I ever feeling it
tonight. I guess I have to realize it is not quite healed yet. So, the bandage is back on and I am trying to not use my hand so much.

Menu for today:

Breakfast:
1/2 c cereal
1/2 c milk
one egg
1/2 cup coffee w/cream

Lunch:
Ham and cheese sandwich before going grocery shopping...it was not DQ, I am so proud of me.....
Mandarin orange cup

Dinner:
Taco w/soft flour tortilla, 1 oz hamburg, 2 T. cheese, tomato and a little sour cream
2 mini donettes. (had a sweet tooth!!!)

Snacks:
4 cups popcorn - only 160 calories, and I love the stuff....

Bedtime snack, yea, I needed one....
veggie straws....130 calories

Total calories for day: 1,219

My carbs were actually a little down today. I am glad for that. I just need to get this silly sugar under control.

Good evening Izzy,
Hope you had a great day. Mine was pretty good. Took hubby to his therapy. I did not exercise today. I only had about 3.5 hrs of sleep last night and was absolutely pooped all day.

I did not walk on treadmill today, but I did take my dog for a walk when I went to the bus stop to get the girls. It was a beautiful day and Sparkle enjoyed the walk as much as I did.

My menu for today:

Breakfast:
cottage cheese and peach cup
1/2 c coffee w/cream

Snack:
Granola bar

Lunch:
1 1/2 c veggie soup
cutie orange

Snack:
5 Ritz crackers w/.5 oz cheese

Dinner:
1 cup noodles w/butter and parm. cheese
fruit cup

Total Calories: 924....carbs in range....

I always eat less when I count calories. Need to bring them up to at least 1,000 per day. I am very aware of how many carbs I am taking in. Most of them today
were from fruit. I am also watching my sugar. It has been going up. I am hoping that by watching my carbs will help bring my sugar down to normal ranges.

So, what did you eat on Monday? Am anxious to hear....

My granddaughter gets her tonsils out on Thursday and has her pre-op physical tomorrow. I am taking her to doctor cause mom can't get off from work. Gotta hit the grocery store in the morning and get some laundry done before we go at 3:55 to doctor. So, Tuesday will be a busy day for me.

Oh yea, today is my weigh-in day. I weigh 187.6 today. Good starting place huh.
I am going to try to lose 7.7 lbs to get down to 180 in three weeks. What is your goal???? We will do it...

Good to hear from you and congrats on committing to the treadmill. I see you are still eating to many carbs and guess what? So did I! WE must cut back on the carbs and add more exercise. We will e heading to the beach in 3 weeks and I am trying hard to lose a few more pounds before then. I just have to really work hard to get it done. Today is work day at the retirement home and it makes me so sad looking at the elderly and wishing I could make them feel better. It is just a constant reminder of what's in store. That's why I like try and stay busy and keep moving and exercising. Please lets post every day to keep each other accountable,
I need to have a strong buddy to keep me on track. I weighed this morning and had gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks. It stops here! Today I will recommit to my goals and I will over come this set back. Hi Izzy,

OK...is time to get really serious so we can look good for most of the summer anyway. My daughter is coming to visit later this summer and I remember you have plans and want to look great. Lets do this together.

We will, and I mean WE, will track our meals, everything that goes into our mouths
gets tracked and reported to each other, including calories. We should also report
what exercise we were able to do each day.

Sunday is my free day. I watch what I eat, but I will start writing it down for you to
see but not count calories that day.

I am a little scared to walk outside, after the fall in the grass and the unevenness of the sidewalk so I use that for an excuse. But not more, I have a treadmill that
sits in the living room just calling out my name and I can even hang on so I don't have to worry about balance issues. So, excuses, be gone.....I will gain control over the excuses.

Meals for today:

Breakfast:
2 eggs
2 sl toast
cutie orange

Lunch:
Hot dog in bun
1/4 c potato salad
2 oz sweet potato

Dinner:
2 oz fish
2 oz sweet potato
1/2 c broccoli - yummmm
yogurt cup

Snacks:
none

Let me know about the results from the MRI on your knee. I hope all is well.

So, how was your weekend? How is work treating you? I didn't do anything this weekend except for a little laundry, of course. My DIL has been doing a lot of the
cooking cause my hand has been so sore still. It feels pretty good then I go and
use it and the pain comes back again. Be glad when the pain stays gone.

We can do 10 to 15 lbs in 60 days but that tells me you are going to the beach in July not June....today is May 21.....when are you going to the beach???? Wish I
was going. Love the smell and sound of the ocean but with the meds I am taking
I can't stay in the sun very long. And there isn't a beach around here....LOL

Well, I am reading a really good book so I think I will go stick my nose back in it

Glad to hear that your hand was not broke and that the weight is starting to come off again. The heart monitor said I am ok, and I had and MRI on my knee. I won't know anything until Thursday. My weight has been up and down, mostly up. I will start weighting my food and being more careful Tomorrow. I want to lose 10 to 15 pounds in the next 60 days. I will be going to the beach in June, It will be hard to stick to a diet. I hope I can do good and not go over board with the eating.
Lets both try to keep each other on track and stay accountable for our actions. Well good luck and stay in touch.

Hi Izzy,
Sorry I have been MIA but this goofy hand has not let me do anything. It was not
broken, thank God, I could not have handled being in a cast for several weeks. It
is just badly sprained. It has been 2 weeks today and while I still have a lot of pain I can use it some. Should be better in a couple more weeks the doctor tells
me. So, I am back to doing light laundry and cooking. Feels good.

So, how did your trip go to the doctor's??? Does the heart monitor help you feel a
little less stressed. I know I would be if my heart was buzzing. Prayers go up for
you.

I hope you had a great Mothers Day. Its nice to have all the family together for special days. I certainly am hoping you get along with the in-laws. I don't have
'my' in-laws anymore but I sure do get along with DIL's parents. They come up here a couple of times a year and stay with us. It is really special.

I am starting to lose a little weight again. I am at 188.5 and hope to be at 175 by
the 4th of July. Gotta quit going to DQ so often. My sugar has not been under
control; I can't imagine why not.....shame on me.... Doc changed my diabetics medicine as mine was not working very well. I gotta stick to the program as these pills cost me $80 a month. I better be successful huh. If I stay watching my sugar like I should I will lose weight then I can justify the expensive meds.

Well, Sparkle (my dog) is hungry, so am I, so I better go feed him. I also have a load of laundry to go into the dryer and another to go into the washer yet today.
It is now 5pm So my day is not close to being over yet.

I hope you are doing good with your weight loss goals. We will get there. I know
we will. I am determined...again...gotta stay that way.... Lets make a goal to lose 3-4 lbs by the 1st of June. That's doable.

Well, this is not getting the poor doggie feed. He looks like he hasn't eaten in days so I will go for now.

Hope you are doing well, I have barely survived the project emoticon
My body aches and my right knee is so much pain. I have a joint bursa and not sure of what else. It could be a torn ACL. I have an appointment with a specialist on the 18th. I could not bend my knee yesterday, and was in soooo much pain. emoticon It feels a little better today.
I am glad that your balance is better and you will soon get your room. I have not done so well as far as losing weight, I am at a plateau. My diet while working on the project has been ok, but not great. I am up and down on the scale. Today I am recommitting myself to my goals. I have 26.6 pounds to go and I would love to lose another 10 pounds this month. We will be headed to the beach in June and It would be great to be down another size. I am a size 14 and hope to be in a 12 soon. I need to get more exercise and do some toning. Well the weekend is here and next weekend is Mother's Day. That means this week will be another busy and hard one. Cleaning, preparing for a yard sale next Saturday. Have a great weekend and stay in touch. Hi SHOAPIE emoticon Congrats on your 10 pounds gone.

Hell-o my friend,

Have you survived your project???? I sure hope so. Sounds like a lot of work, but it will pay off when you can stand back and look at the finished project . And to know that you did it.....good for you....

Our project at fixing the 'family room' into our bedroom is kinda on hold for a little
while. Not too long though. My son who has been staying with us for almost a year now, went to Michigan for a vacation. He met up with a gal who was his 3rd.
grade girlfriend....on facebook and have been talking almost nonstop. He saw her
in person again after 40 years, and they really hit it off. So, he is moving to Mich.
on Friday this week. Which means his room gets empty, so it will be a little easier
putting up the drywall on the other side of the wall. Hopefully by mid summer we
can be moved over there. It will be like an efficiency apartment. It will seem so good to be able to move around and not run into anyone.....

I gained weight for the month of April. I think about 4 lbs. I am so ashamed of myself. I have been pretty good so far this month, but I am still not
tracking my food and I know I need to if I want to lose weight. The weather is getting nicer so
I can go for walks. Went for a little walk tonight after I sat on my glidder for about
an half an hour. It was so incredible peaceful out. It was about 7pm so it was
getting a little cooler (and it wasn't THAT warm out !!!) but it still felt great.

My balance is getting better. I am really BAD about not doing my exercises but I am doing much better. I hardly walk with my cane at all and it feels so good to not feel so wobbly.

Well, I got a really busy day tomorrow. Three appts. plus running to the grocery
store for a couple of things (a couple, right...LOL) So I think I will check the washer, of course huh, then hit the hay early.

Great to hear from you and glad to know every thing is alright. I Have been working my butt off, I built a closet in the spa area and decided to paint it a new color. emoticon What was I thinking? Every bone in my body is hurting. I have lifted sheet rock, 2x4 studs, paint and been up and down the letter from 5am until 8 or 9
sense Thursday. I still have doors to hang and size, plus paint the trim. Now after all that is done, I have to move all the furniture back in, mop floors, etc. It all has to be finished by Sunday night, I have to work on Monday and I have a class to teach on Tuesday. I am so tired, I walked over 1398 steps each day.
Well its great to hear from you and I hope you are having a great weekend.

Hi Izzy,
Its Saturday and last Tuesday I wrote you a long newsy post and was just finishing it up when my computer froze. I tried everything to make it come back on
but to no success. My DIL said I may have burned it up. Oh no, I thought.....
So I been doing everything except tossing the thing out the window trying to get it
to come back to me, to no avail. My finances are done on line too so I was really
getting nervous. But today, by gosh, I tried again, and it came on. I did my finances and now I can write to you.

So, how have you been? How is work treating you? How are the scales doing?

Things are going well. I have been going to cardio therapy with Richard. Working
out is ok, but it sure makes my knees hurt. My balance therapy seems to be helping somewhat so far. I am encouraged.

My son starts pastoring the new church on May 7. We are all excited. Love to listen to Mark preach and for others to hear him is wonderful.

My scales are bouncing around again. I have til Monday before I have to weigh myself for the month of April. I had hoped to lose about 4 lbs last month, but I have been bad enough days I may have missed that goal. My own fault. I really got to get a grip. Walked down to the bus stop yesterday to get the girls. It was still a little cool for me, but it was sunny. Pretty soon I will be able to walk. I am
a little less wobbly so I am not quite as nervous about walking outside.


DIL is finishing the downstairs. She replaced our carpet with a wood floor last November and has been working a little at a time. She has the floor done, except for a little bit of trim. The room dividing the boys room from the family room is up and she is 'mudding' the seams. It looks 'undone' but it is a beautiful site. After it
gets all finished and she drywalls the boys side of the wall, and her project is completely finished Richard and I get the 'family room' for our bedroom. It is nice
and big, has a wet bar and glass sliding door leading out to a covered patio. It will
be like having a studio apt. Our room is really really small. This will be SO nice.
I can hardly wait.

My Elena, 10, is joining the band. She is going to play the flute. She came home
so excited the other night after open house, and all she had with her was the music stand.....good thing she didn't choose the drums....haha I love to listen to
music being learned. My ears went thru a lot when the was learning the recorder.

I found a lot of cookbooks while I was cleaning and was looking thru them. They are mostly light cooking and also easy books....I am so excited about pouring over
them and finding some new recipes to try. Only problem with my bunch is they like what they like. They are not real receptive to trying new things. I hate to spend time cooking something and have them all turn their noses up at it. But they may just have to learn to like new things. Or go hungry...see how tough I can
be....LOL

Today is my free day so I am not going to write what I ate. I am not particularly proud of what went in my mouth today, or for several days as that goes.

Well, I hear Zulmita working away in the family room. Think I will go see if I can
help her.

Glad to hear your balance is better. It seems we all are so busy with life's little challenges. This month, as far as weight loss; Has been a big disappointment.
I don't understand why I can't break this weight loss plateau. Well I have tried everything from eating off plan to shock my body back into weight loss to fasting.
I get so frustrated that I could scream. I hope that I can lose at least 3 to 5 pounds before end of month. I started back walking yesterday and went for a short walk. I have to start out slowly because of my knee. Oh if I could just get my knees and feet back to normal, you don't appreciate something until it gone.
Well, girl friend. I tried the apple fast diet that the doctor put me on for a day. I made it to 1:00 and had to eat something else. I ate a total of 6 apples through out the day. It made me feel so sick and I still feel crappie and bloated. I won't try it again. Well I hope your day is a good one.

Good Evening Izzy,

Hope you had a great day. Mine wasn't too bad. With all the therapy running around we have to do, I managed to do 4 loads of laundry today. I am still behind
about 3 loads I hope to get done tomorrow, after Richard's therapy.

I am doing quite good at therapy. My balance is still quite not there yet, but there
is improvement. I need to walk daily, but going outside makes me nervous. I am
still quite wobbly and walking on the sidewalk does not appeal to me. We have a
community center about a mile from here with a walking track. I think I will try to
make me 30 minutes a day to go there and walk. It would help my balance, plus
I am working on taking longer steps and walking heel then toe. And it should help
me lose a little weight too. My silver lining in my cloud....haha

I'm glad you have your taxes done. That can be such a chore and frustrating too.

I also threw caution to the wind on Easter. But you know what, nothing I ate that
I shouldn't have really didn't taste that good. Serves me right. But, its a new week so we can pick ourselves up and start again this week. Won't be long and
we will be starting a new month. About a week and a half. I am aiming at a 3 lb.
loss by the 1st of May. I can do it if I stay committed.

Well, its nearly 10 pm and I have therapy with Richard tomorrow so I better go.
Will talk to you tomorrow. Have a great morning.

I am finally through with taxes! emoticon
I did poorly on Easter, I ate totally off my plan and paid for it. I was sick all day Monday and trying to work. I just felt so full and bloated. I do feel much better today and I start my fast. No food except granny smith apples and water starting at noon. According to the plan I should lose 1 to 3 pounds over night, that would be great. It would undo the damage from Easter binge.
I am recommitting myself totally to the program and Hope to see that scale start moving again. I weighed this morning and it was 198.4 so hopefully tomorrow will be 195 emoticon
Congrats on your weight loss last week, way to go. I noticed that you are still consuming to many carbs(leave the bread alone) just this one change will make a big difference. WE can reach our goals and be proud of our accomplishments and it will be the best learning journey ever. Well I have a class to teach and I want to get a walk in the morning. I hope your day will be full of good and positive things, take care.

Hi Izzy,
Happy Easter. Hope you didn't eat too many eggs!!!
The girls and a friend of theirs colored eggs yesterday. They had a great time. Got some cute pic and a small video. And to think I started doing this when the
oldest (10) was still in a highchair. Talk about traditions huh.

Our next project is to make sugar cookies and frosting them with pretty pastel colors to celebrate spring and then put sprinkles on them. The girls are excited about that too.

Hope you are winding down on getting your taxes done. The last day is pretty soon now isn't it?

I lost 1.5 pounds last week. I have moved my 'goal date' back to Labor Day. If I am a good girl I should be able to get there. It is getting warmer and warmer each
day so I should be able to walk outside a little. I have to watch my balance cause
it can get so wobbly when I walk. I don't want to have to pick myself up off the
sidewalk. Would not be a pretty site.....

Did not do too badly with my food intake today.

Breakfast:
boiled egg - of course
1/2 bowl cereal w/milk
coffee w/cream

Lunch:
ham
sweet potatoes
mac salad
Hawaiian roll
small pc apple pie
1/4 c ice cream

Dinner:
2 boiled eggs
corn souflette (spelling!!)
ice cream 1/4 c
Hawaiian roll

Snacks:
None

Did not track today, but actually I did not do too bad.

Got two weeks left this month. Hope to lose about 3 lbs. Would like to see a loss
of at least 4 lbs. a month, but sometimes I don't even make that. I'm afraid that is
my own fault. I really must do better. I want my size large shirts to get TOO big
for me.

Well, I have not read for a few days, or is it weeks, can't remember LOL.....so I
think I will curl up in bed with a good book for awhile.

Look forward to hearing from you soon and hear whats going on with you. I would
love a nice long 'chatty' post.

Hi Izzy,
Sorry I have been MIA for so long. Trying to get used to this having to go to therapy everyday, either hubby or me....its awful. Seems like I have no time even tho' the afternoons are mine. Can't get much laundry done in 3 hours actually. That's what I end up with after I get home, have lunch and relax for about 30 min. Then its hit the washer and is nonstop until time to make dinner. Can't really
do anymore laundry after dinner cause everyone is taking showers. So.....what can I say...

I am doing well. The therapy isn't making my head feel really funky anymore and
for that I am thankful.

My son was voted in as pastor of that little church I told you about. He had a meeting on Wednesday night with the board and he has to take come classes so he can be licensed Assembly Of God pastor. He has not problem with that. Our
first service over there is on May 7. We are so excited. It is little church with a
small congregation of mostly elderly people who are just as sweet as they can be.
Am anxious to see how God chooses to move.

So, what have you been up to....besides spring cleaning your closet, I am jealous,
and getting some tax work done? We did redo the girls room. They have an actual dresser now and it looks so cute in there. Gotta work on their closet Sat.
and take out clothes that are too small for the little one. I am so excited...Huh!!!

I gained .2 lbs. last week. I did not track one single meal....shame, shame, shame
on me huh....no excuses....But, the new week is just around the corner...for me its
tomorrow, Saturday....and I will do better. I have to. I only want to have 20 lbs to
lose not 27. I am getting closer and I don't want to blow it now.

I have done absolutely NOTHING to talk about that would be found interesting. I
guess I just like to jabber huh.,...

I am making sugar cooking for the girls to decorate with pastel frosting and then
sprinkles. Tomorrow at 2pm is Easter Egg coloring time. They have a friend coming over. It should be fun. I have done this for almost 10 years with the girls
now. I guess its one of those memories they will carry with them. It has its ad-
vantages living with the grandkids. Most of the time....LOL

Well girl, its your turn to talk my ear off.....

I do hope all is going well with you., Sorry I have not stayed in touch better. I will
try to pop in everyday to see how you are doing. Keep on with the weight loss.
We will be in the 80's soon. I will be 'back' in the 80's. emoticon

This morning I think the plateau is over. I weighed at 5am and I was 198.6 but and hour later is was 200. The doctor said that the first weigh in of the day would be the correct one. I hope so, we will see tomorrow.

Good Morning Lynn
I miss hearing from you, hope all is well. I have been working 12 to 16 hours a day spring cleaning and I am worn out! After all the energy I have used this week, I still have not lost anything but my MIND! Its down a pound, up a pound> I keep losing the same pound! I am so frustrated and want to binge and I did. emoticon
I am usually not this week, but I was so tired and hungry that I gave in. I had no energy and was so tired that I was nauseated. I had a Hardee's 5 piece chicken strip meal with a cup of coffee plus the apple pie emoticon . Boy it was so good and made me feel more energy and happy. Life is short and its meant to be enjoyed. I will get back on track this morning and hope this will shock my body back into losing. Nothing else is working. I talked with my doctor and its the same old same. Keep a detailed food journal and bring it in let me look at it. Then its eat more fat. Well I ate more FAT!
We all know our bodies better than anyone and mine is telling me that I am not consuming enough calories in a day and its shut down and holding on to every calorie because it thinks I am trying to starve it.
3oz. of meat, 2 servings of veggies(1 cup cook= 2 servings) or 2 raw, 1 cup of fruit and 2tbs. of fat(coconut oil or organic butter) plus 110 oz. water. I don't think that is any more than maybe 800 calories a day. I am going to count calories this week to see for my self.
The good news is that I have gone from 41" waste to a 39" and from 16" neck to 15" and down 2 sizes and a total loss of 19 pounds sense 2/19. Ok that's something. emoticon
I have a lot of work left to do today on cleaning out my closet and I have to get rid of all of the no longer wanted items. This is a BIG pain in my butt and stressful.

Good Morning Lynn
Glad to hear your doctor's visit went well and you are back exercising.
I have been busy SPRING cleaning, meanly my closet. I have been in there sense
Tuesday early morning working 12 hours a day. I still have not finished. I took everything out painted and redesigned it. I walked over 10,000 steps Tuesday and 9548 Wednesday. I have eat on plan and still did not lose anymore yet. emoticon Today I have a nail tech class to teach from10 to 4, then my grandson's soccer game at 4:30. When I get back, it will be going through clothes and purging unwanted items and hanging the rest. My Dear sweet Lord, I don't ever want to do this again. But I hope I can if needed to. I am so tired and aching I wish I could go back to bed. Well time to hop in the shower and get to work.

Hi Izzy,
I hope all is going well with you. I miss not hearing from you today.

My pacer check went absolutely wonderful. My heart rate is behaving well and I am doing great. I am so relieved about that.

Went to cardio rehab today and did the exercises again. Pushed my knees just a
little bit harder today. Trying to loosen them up a little bit. That would be a real
blessing for me. I walked my 500 steps on the machine, where I sit down....hahaha and I was proud of that. Even went 5 min on treadmill at 1 mph which is up from the .6 mph last time. Maybe I will even able to lose a pound or two while I am at it huh.

My menu:

Breakfast:
Boiled Egg
1 slice toast
1/2 banana
1/2 c coffee w/cream

Lunch:
Meatloaf
Mashed potatoes
Corn
water

Dinner:
Boiled egg
yogurt
1/2 c cottage cheese

Snack:
3 donut holes

Total Calories: 1,312 141 carbs / 58 fat / 64 protein

I am working to bring my carbs to under 150 per day, which is what they do recommend. Then I will lower it more. I am going to see my diabetic dietician to
learn how to better control the carbs. I am seriously going to do this....thanks for your support. You do not know how much I appreciate it.

Well, I gotta go clean the kitchen and fold a load of clothes so I better run for now.

Good evening Izzy,

I had free time and I chose not to drive myself crazy trying to get so much done. I
did manage to do quite a bit of laundry done tho. The rest of the work will be there tomorrow too. I will get to it. One good thing, Richard's rehab time has been changed from 1-2 to 11-12. I am so glad about that . Leaves the afternoons
free. Not that I ever have any real 'free' time huh...LOL

Thank you for your comments on my carb intake. I totally agree. I am trying to cut down on them but find it a little difficult. I think I will have to make it a project
for me to accomplish.

So, how did your spring cleaning go? I should downsize my closet, except I like
all my clothes. What a problem...

Menu for today:

Breakfast:
Cheerios w/milk

cutie

Snack:
popcorn 4 c

My sugar after dinner was 120...perfect for me. I have to be much more aware of
the carbs I eat. Dinner was good and it did not have hardly any carbs except for
the fruit cup. I am kinda proud of me.

Well, gotta be up early tomorrow and can't go back to bed after getting the girls
off to school. Have my pace maker checked at 10 and cardo therapy at 11 am.

I am glad you have some free time today. I see by your food post, you are consuming to many carbs. They turn to sugar in your body and spikes your insulin
levels, Then they are stored as fat. Limit yourself to one serving a day.

Yesterday was not to bad, I got home early and got some me time. Today is spring cleaning and man what a job. My closet is a mess and I need to purge all the close that I no longer wear or need. Its a big job and I want to down size and make my life simple. Well, guest I had better get to it. Have a wonderful day.

Hi,
Hope your long day wasn't too bad for you. I got only 2 loads of laundry done to-
day. Hubby had cardio ther. but I did not exercise this time. I just did not feel up
to it today. Tomorrow is a free day, can you believe it, so I can concentrate on, yep, laundry. And cleaning bathrooms, dusting, mopping kitchen and a few other
things I can't think of right now. What did I say about a 'free day' ??????

I hope you got a chance to rest after you got home. Remember to take some 'me'
time. OK?

I tracked today....WOW

Breakfast:

Calories: 1,118

Got a new scale today. It weighs in .2 .4 .6 etc. My old one only weighed half lbs.
I weighed me on the old one and the new one, they are the same. Now I can see
when I lose just a little bit. I think it will be more encouraging.

The only exercise I got today was walking around the grocery store for about 30
minutes. I just wasn't feeling good. I am ready to go to bed now....its after 9:30 and I have been trying to get to bed at 9pm. Seems to work better for me.

Well, I probably talked your ear off enough for now. You have a great day, and think about me over your morning coffee, when I can't even get my eyes open yet.

I a glad to hear that you are going to stay focused and really shoot for that goal of 179. You can do it! May is just around the corner and we must get busy. To day is may work day so I will be heading out the door soon. I really I am not wanting to go and wish I could just stay home. Oh well, I get over with and head home and relax.

Hi,
Man, you sure know how to make that brownie memory not so good....thanks I needed it. I must have a conscience and sometimes I just do not listen to it. But to tell the truth, it really wasn't worth the calories. I only ate about half my pork chop and Richard ate the test. The broccoli was yummy, now that I am allowed
my green veggies again. Even salad even tastes better...

I am so proud of your weight loss. Way to go.....Onederland is closer than you
think and you will be there very soon. Its easier to stay on track than it is to have
to cope with the feelings, both physically and emotionally, after 'cheating'. I know,
and there has not been anything that I have eaten that tasted that good. Think I
would learn by now huh. Its just that sometimes it sounds soooo good.

I am so proud of the steps you walked. I have a shoe pedometer but I don't wear
it very often. But I can guarantee that I am doing very well if I manage 1500 steps
a day. And that is if I had a 'walking a lot' day. I gotta work on getting a lot more
steps in.

Today for birthday dinner we had a BBQ. I had cheeseburger, 1/4 c potato salad
1/4 c corn pudding and a very small pc of cake.
For breakfast I had 2 sl toast w/p butter and 1/2 banana.

This week will be a good one for both of us, I am sure of that. We are both going
into it determined to do better and I will exercise more. I want to get down to 179
by May 1. That makes 8.5 lbs to lose this month. It is doable as long as I stick
with my program. I am keeping very good records of both mine and hubbies stats
and that keeps me focused on good health.

My son has started a church of his own. It has not grown very much in the past
few months. He keeps praying that God will show him what He wants him to do.
There may be an opportunity for him to take over a church that is only 3 blocks
from our house. Its a small church but that's ok. We started a church in St. Cloud
Florida when Mark was just a teenager. If it is God's will then.....I will keep you
posted.

I totally understand your back issues. I can't stand for a long time before my back
hurts really bad. I get really bad spasms too. I have meds I have to take when I
get one they hurt so bad.

Don't work too hard tomorrow....haha
But, do have a great day.

Good Morning Lynn
Sounds like a great meal, but the brownie with ice cream is 1598 calories to be exact, I looked it up. I hope that you are back to tracking and will do well this week. I am off the plateau and lost 3.3 pounds this past week. emoticon I will soon be in onder-land. I have only binged once sense starting program 2/19/17. I of course felt like crap mentally and physically afterwards. I got my new prescription for my thyroid and I am feeling better. Thank God. I had all my children and grand kids yesterday. I walked 14,199 steps which is close to 6 miles just around the house.

They had steak, baked potato, fried chicken, salad, fruit salad, rolls and for desert: cup cake and ice cream.
For me:
Chicken(no skin) salad with vinegar & oil and fruit. All left overs went home with the kids. So I am pretty proud of myself. Well I am no longer at a plateau.
I am hoping that this week will be a good one. My back is totally out today, when ever I am on my feet to long; I have spasms in my back. I hope it better by tomorrow, I have along day at work. Well enjoy your day.

Hi Izzy,
Well, its late for me....it is 8:30 pm....haha

Just got home from dinner at AppleBees and threw a load of towels in the washer,
and I am surprised why???? Dinner was great. Had a pork chop, only ate about
half of it, a baked potato and broccoli, it sure was nice to eat green veggies again.
Had to have a little dessert tho. So much for the banana huh....LOL But I only had a very small brownie w/1/2 scoop of ice cream. I think I had about 1,000 cal.
for dinner. And I had a small breakfast and lunch. Don't think I did too badly.

Tomorrow is hubby's BD and he wants a BBQ. Z makes killer burgers and has all
of us spoiled. I am going to make potato salad and we will have rice and beans (yuck) and corn pudding. I won't be eating too much of it. For various reasons.
But I will, maybe, have a 'tiny' piece of birthday cake. Trust me, my family will be
watching to see how much of it I eat. Then I will eat my banana LOL.

Decided to not go to the movies tonight. I had my balance therapy on Friday and
they told me I would feel a little bit bad. Boy they got that right. Be glad when my
head feels like it belongs to me again.

I wonder, why oh why, do we binge when we are angry and/or frustrated???? Or
any other negative feelings. Even worse yet we eat when we are happy or celebrating, anything, it doesn't matter. One thing I have learned over the years
is that if you are craving something, eat it until you are sick of it. It will end your
craving. Don't really know what works if you are just binging just because. Sorry I
can't be of any help there.

So I can not feel deprived totally, I have decided to make either Saturday or Sun.
my 'free' day. So if we have a BBQ on Sat. I can have some, but if Sat. is just kind of blah, then I can make Sun my free day. This month my weigh-in day is on
Saturday.

I am sorry to say I am 1.5 lbs heavier than I was on the 1st of March. But now that I have made up my mind, I expect this month to be better. It is getting nicer
outside so I can go for short walks. Cannot go too far because of my balance but
I should be able to get in some.

My menu for today, but I did not track it:

Breakfast:
4 Tbs. Egg Beaters
2 sl light toast
cutie

Lunch:
Tuna sand on light bread
Lettuce and tomato salad
Cucumber dressing
apple sauce

Dinner:
pork chop 1/2
baked potato w/butter and sour cream
broccoli
small brownie bite w/ice cream

Snacks:
soft pretzel
diet soda

Don't think I did too bad.
Tomorrow I start tracking again....or maybe I will wait until Monday....talk about
putting something off huh.....oh my.....

Well, believe it or not I did laundry a little while ago and I think it is ready for the
dryer. I hope so, I don't want to stay up until its done. Its towels and we kinda need them !!!

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday. And things will get better. A wise man once
said that 'if you look up (toward God) your problems will fall right off your shoulders'. I have found that to be true.

I am feeling pretty good, just a little fuzzy headed which they said would happen.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I am sorry you are feeling bad, hope you better by tomorrow. Todays was just a complete depressing day and I would dare bore you with the details. I have not been in the best mood and I had a little binge due to anger and frustration. I hope it is out of my system and I can move on. Good Morning Lynn
Sounds like you had a busy day. Its great you are exercising again, stick with it and you will do well. I had hope to be in onder-land today was one of my goals. I fell short by 2 pounds(today is my 61BD) and I am disappointed. I am at that plateau and I go up a few tens of a pound then down a few tens. I am just spinning my wheels and not getting any where. I think my thyroid medication needs changing sense I have lost 17 pounds. I tried to get an appointment but no openings with doctor for a month. emoticon
The children will be here Saturday evening to celebrate mine and my son's birthday. I will fix steak , salad and baked potatoes, I will be having chicken, steamed veggies and fruit. It makes me so MAD to have to eat such boring food when everyone else will eat great. I am so burned out on this program and can't wait for it to be over with(July). I know its for my own good, but it does not allow for normal eating choices. It is so restrictive and I can see anyone living this way for the rest of their life. The program will start adding some of my favorite foods back at the last month of program. Oh, I pray a can make it that long. Sometimes I feel like giving in and just eating a pizza. Life is short and its mint to be enjoyed, I am not enjoying this(well except the weight loss) I feel like I am being punished.
Ok, enough of my pity party. I will be fine after Saturday when the family dinner is over. I love being with my family but its angers me not to be able to eat a normal meal with them. I could have steak but I have alpha gal(no red meats) allergy. I will be tested again next week and hope after 4 years without red meat, it will be gone! I hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating your husband's birthday. Don't over do it and take care.

Good evening Izzy,
I am glad your brother went home from the hospital. He sounds like he does have
a lot of health issues. I understand your wanting to get healthy so you can avoid
those problems. I also understand plateaus are a part of the weight loss adventure, but who needs them ??? I too am struggling with a plateau right now
and I hate it.

I did get all the papers my daughter 'created' for me. They log everything, what I
ate, weight, sugar, blood pressure, pulse, INR, exercise, everything. And I plan
on being very truthful to these pages in the following weeks to see how I do.
I plan on buying a new scale soon. MIne is so old. I want one that weighs in the
tenths of pounds. I am also going to measure me and put it on my SP page for weight and measurements. I am so serious.....lets hope the momentum stays and
I do not burn out after a few days. I have done that before. But I have you to ans-
wer to and that should help.

I think you will be fine at the birthdays. I say that because my Husbands BD is on
Sunday. He wants chocolate cake, and of course, that happens to be my favorite.
But we are going out to eat on Saturday night and that will be my free night, so I
can't have cake on Sunday. I will think of you as I eat my banana.

Went to cardio rehab yesterday. I did it too. I felt really good when I left there,
but, I could hardly get out of bed this morning. Finally got up, and then I had to go
to the grocery store, which meant walking all of WalMart.. I must be a glutton for
punishment huh....LOL I have been making me stay up during the day and only
laying down for an hour a day. And by 8:30-9:00 I am so tired. It is nearly 9:30
now and I sure can feel it. Good thing I have a delete button I can use when I make mistakes. I sure use it a lot....haha

Well, I gotta get to bed. I am making so many mistakes and I can hardly see
straight. You have a great Friday and I will talk to you soon.

Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. My brother went home Tuesday and he has a lung disease and soon is going on Kidney dialysis plus he has diabetes.
This is why I am trying so hard to lose the weight and get healthy. I don't want to have all those problems later in life. I am hoping to start back to walking and do Piyo 3 times a week. emoticon emoticon emoticon

My weight has slowed down to a few tens of a pound per day. I know its normal to hit a plateau but I hate it. I like seeing those pounds disappear and feel my clothes fitting loser. I have lost about 17 pounds and a pant size, 3/4" off my neck, 1" on my thighs and 1" from my calf. This is great and I am thankful, but I want to see more results faster.
This weekend we will be celebrating birthdays and I am dreading it because I will want to eat cake. I must stay strong and pick a good fruit instead. emoticon

I hope all is well with you and that your husband is doing good. You have a great day and I look forward in hearing from you.

Its been a busy day and I have a lot on my plate. I just got a call from my sister that my brother is in the hospital and they think its his heart. He has a lot of medical problems. I hope that he will be ok, my sister said he did not look to good. I guess I will head over to the hospital in the morning. Sorry I am not in a writing mood tonight. Good afternoon young lady....you out celebrating your weight loss - no food of course???? I miss not hearing from you. (Is it your birthday yet??)

I am having a good, but busy, day. Doing laundry, but of course, cleaned the bathroom, swept bedroom, foyer and bathroom, cleaned out a cupboard in the bathroom we want for towels and I am fixin' to dust our room after I write to you. At least I don't have to cook today.

Hope you don't mind telling that lady who wanted to share her products with us that I didn't think you were interested. What you are doing is working beautifully and I am really proud of you. I would be happy is I lost 5 lbs a month. Hopefully after I start working out when my husband does and I continue tracking, the scales will start to like me a little bit. I would like to reach my goal this year....oh my goodness, I just did some calculating....I only have 28 lbs to lose to reach 160 which is my goal, may change it after I get there. Wow. I can do this. I really can.
If I only poked along at 1 lb a week I can be there in 7 months. But I plan on getting there faster than that.

Hi,
Thank you for your post and congrats on your weight loss thus far. Keep up the good work. Unfortunately I am not interested in your products. I have a lot of health issues and my doctor really limits me on what I can take. And, even tho' I can't speak for Izzly, I know she is on a program that is working for her.

Izzy, what can I say... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon got the idea????? LOL

I am so proud of you. I know there must be days when you wonder if it is all worth it or not. It absolutely is for you. Congrats !!!!!!!

I tracked and counted calories today, even tho' Fridays are my free night. I eat pretty much what I want only try to not go crazy. Kinda hard when Friday is pizza
night....Anyway, I had to start somewhere huh. I think I am going to change my calorie range from trying to stay at 1200 to between 1200-1350. SP gives my up
to 1550 but I really don't want that many.

Tuesday starts hubby's cardio rehab and I can go workout with him. I am looking
forward to starting to exercise. Hope I get into the habit of moving more and more.

My day went well. I did laundry all day, literally. Did 6 loads today and have 4 more to do tomorrow to get caught up, whatever that means...LOL Opened the
windows to get some fresh air but it sure was cold. Will be mighty glad when spring shows up. I miss the green leaves and green grass, and of course the warm weather.

Kids are spring break this next week so things should be a little crazy around here. Next week is when Richard and/or I have someplace we need to be every-day...good thing big brother is here to watch the girls.

Menu for today:

Ham, turkey and cheese sand on light bread

Hello Everyone....

Im new to the forum, but Im going through some of the same struggles as many of you. I would like to share some information. I have found a company that supplies all natural plant based products for all types of issues....weight loss...hair growth...pain relief...tightening & toning the skin....

I started at close to 240 lbs, and over a period of time I have lost close to 15-20 lbs....If you would like more information...I could SHARE it with you.....

Glad to hear things are going well with your meds. In reference to logging everything, you do know you can do all of that on SP. Just look under My Trackers,
It will do it all for you.
I am going to my doctor for my official 1st month weigh in, I am feeling bloated. I am hoping for a good results. I have not been losing as fast as in the beginning. He said about 8 pounds per month. I have lost 16.2 pounds by my scales, I should be excited. I am an over achiever and like being really on top emoticon

Good evening Izzy,
I hope your busy day was a good one. I seem to not have gotten much done today but sure did a lot of running around. Got groceries, finally...and went to see
my shrink (Bi-Polar Disorder) and it seems I am totally taken the best meds for me. I had a test done a few weeks ago to see what meds would work best for me.
I am taking the right ones. That is good to hear.

My daughter has my spread sheets finished and will be sending me a months worth by the end of the month. It will log just about everything. Weight, exercise,
sugar, BP, Heart Rate, total calories, INR and seems like I am forgetting something. I will have a great log so when I go see any of my doctors I will have a
log to show them. I also have a paper food sheet so if my sugar is not where is
should be I can look and see what I ate to find out what I need to change. I will be
counting calories and really watching my carbs. There will be a new me coming. What a great way to start spring huh....New beginnings.

Menu for Today:

Breakfast:
Cereal w/milk
cutie

Lunch:
DQ Lunch w/diet soda

Dinner:
pig in a blanket
mac and cheese

Snacks:
2 oreo cookies

Still not behaving very well. I just don't know what is wrong with me...now that we
actually have food in the house it should be easier to eat more healthy foods. We shall see huh.

Well, my doctor tells me I sleep too much but its almost 8:30 now and I am very tired. Tomorrow I have a ton of laundry to do and we have a nurse coming out sometime early afternoon so I really think I will call it a night. I actually did read for
awhile earlier but I finished my book and my phone was almost out of charge. I am an e-book girl.....so I guess sleep wins out now.

I hope you have a great night and a wonderful Friday. The girls spring break starts tomorrow so I will have my hands full. Making cooking, cooking from the girls cookbook (no cooking). The recipes are really cute and some of them sound
really good.
