Well there you go, two sides to every story. I just post 'em, the research is up to you. That's why I called it a thought as opposed to a dictum. I just post 'em to provoke discussion and barely read them myself, so I get to learn with everyone else.

Having said that, what if you're right and these animal rights activists get their way? People stop eating meat and dairy products altogether so now there is no need for cattle. Isn't it ironic that their campaign will result in the extinction of the domestic cattle they set out to protect? Who the heck wants to raise a herd of cattle as pets, which is what they'd be with no commercial use?

Please research the sources!

This looks to be yet another dramatization from the vegan-supporting (fanatically against the use of any animal product) non-profit that has been touting itself as a "medical" group for decades. Their actual membership apparently has few medical doctors, and they have been known for attempting this type of scam for years.

Their usual approach is to produce a screaming headline like this, based on some "study" that wouldn't meet the requirements for publication in an actual reputable medical journal.

Keeping in mind that the purpose of this group is fanatical "animal rights activism", and that there are no reputable studies supporting their stance quickly available in the current public domain, my opinion is that this is a reprehensible piece of fear-mongering garbage.

Sir Terry Pratchett: "Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good."
