Yes - and I transfer the more important parts for me (Calories, Fats, Fibre) to a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is how I discovered exactly the lose/maintain/gain weight calories. I average the calories at each weigh-in, which might be monthly, or may be once in 3 months.

Yes, I've been tracking for 6 days. One of the interesting things I've noticed - I don't actually overeat with normal balanced meals, I'm not even close to be starving when I get my daily 1400-1600 kcal from it. That was honestly surprising, as it's nowhere close to the stereotype of hungry salad-chewing ladies with absent look on their pale faces emoticon

It really helps. A couple of times I stopped tracking with the nutrition tracker. I ended up gaining weight. I feel it is important to track everyday. That way you know exactly where your strengths are, and what you need to improve on. ie: keeping fats under control.

I track in a separate food journal just because I enjoy the interaction between pen and paper. I'm yet unable to guess my daily calories without tracking them. And without knowing how many calories I'm consuming, I almost always overeat. Overeating very healthy food is what brought me to a BMI of 39.9...yes...just a hairs' width less than morbid obesity. My goal is to reach a healthy BMI. I'm halfway there and never want to go back to being that heavy again. So yes...I'm tracking all my nutrition as if my life depended on it...because it truly does!

All things are possible.

Religiously. For me, the fluid intake is more important than the food, though I do make choices based on nutritional content.

I track everyday. It holds me accountable to myself and I make better choices since I know I will track.
I often enter what I am planning to eat...before I eat it. That helps me verify that I am staying in the calorie and nutrient range that I want to meet. It allows me to make a change in what I eat...before I have eaten it.

I track every day, but the old fashioned way in a physical notebook/journal. That way I can write down exactly what I'm eating and even things I may have tweeked to my liking. That way I can look through the past weeks and months to see what I was eating and I can keep the info indefinitely. I won't have to worry about losing the info if I lose my account or if the app changes or anything. Since I track that way, tracking here would be tracking twice, which is too much work. Plus I like to plan out what I will eat ahead of time, like for the next few days and add up the calories for that day, then when my schedule is busy and I don't know what I should eat for dinner or lunch that day or how the calorie count will add up, I just look in my book to see what I already planned and counted for that day and I know to eat that. :) I decide ahead of time what I will eat for each meal each day, otherwise, if I count calories as I go, I will end up having to eat just a piece of string cheese for dinner to fit my calorie allotment for the day. LOL

“Absolutely! In previous weight loss attempts, I've always lost at least a hundred pounds using the spark people tracker and exercise. It's when I would stop tracking and weighing myself on a weekly basis that I would fall off because all accountability went out the window and I'd end up gaining it all back plus some. So now I realize after reaching my goal, I'll need the tracker still to maintain. So far I'm down 93lbs. It may seem like a lot of work, but it's better than the alternative, which was almost death this past summer.”

Fantastic testimonial.

Many account the Spark method to SAD. NOT!

The learning curve is a bit steep, but not impossible.

I came here to track micros, for backpacking meals, after I had developed my own spreadsheets ( much, much, more difficult, but I treasure them ).

It’s only as serious as you make it.

I have to. Ten years ago I lost 70 pounds with the Spark tracker. I thought I had the hang of it so stopped doing it. Since then, I gained 50 pounds back. So I think I will always track.

I track daily. It has held myself accountable for what I am eating. Helps me recognize poor food choices and good food choices. I often put foods in the tracker before I put them in my mouth so I can change my mind if they are taking me outside my calorie/macro nutrient ranges.
It has helped me lose 36 lbs so far this year.
Studies have shown food tracking is the #1 success factor for losing weight. I believe it. emoticon

Hardly ever. It makes me obsess over everything I eat.
Besides, most of my meals are home cooked (I don't use recipes) and I cannot be bothered weighing everything then trying to figure out how much I've eaten.
