My Sneakers!

I keep them in a very clear and open spot so that they remind me to lace up and get moving!

Hands down, my kitchen scale.

I agree with the freezer. I use my food processor for many healthy recipes. I’d like to have a steamer.

Baby carrots... something crunchy to occupy my mouth and take the edge off while I cook dinner. Replaced the glass(es) of wine 😬

Freezer is a good one! I rely heavily on mine for veggies and I do the same with fruits... they are great for dessert, especially bananas and strawberries.

Today I read about food and their preservative. Somehow it made sense to me.
It can be the cause of A) heartburn or indigestion, B) many trips to the bathroom or most often C) constipation.
Preservatives do what it says - preserve. Therefore harder to digest our food because they are conditioned to be preserved. This is why it's very important to chew our food very well before swallowing so our stomach can process it without hardship if at all if we don't chew enough
Just thought I'd share this bit of information with you all. I find it very intersting

My freezer is my best friend. I freeze all kinds of fruit - banana, pears, peaches - and love eating the frozen fruit instead of 'candy'.
I cook lots of beans and rice and quinoa at once and freeze the cooked stuff in portions so I can make quick meals with some steamed or stir-fried vegetables.

My dog is my favorite "tool." In the year and a half I've had her, playing and walking with her provides more motivation to move than any inanimate tracker I've used. :)

I pay attention to the fedback from my fitbit and I would never track my sleep or activity as well as it does.
YET - Keeping my food tracker every single day has the greatest impact on my weight loss journey. So I make sure I log every bite.

Ah yes, my fitbit died. Took me a while to decide on a new one but I miss the sleep insights and step reminders too much to wait anymore!

Hunting, fishing, gardening, and preserving tools. It’s a bit of an extensive list.

For me......

Primary Tools
1. Rules (regarding appropriate body maintenance: fuel, exercise, sleep, etc)
2. Firm Resolve (to adhere to my rules)
3. Love/Support (from God, family, and friends) MOST IMPORTANT

Secondary Tools
1 Comfortable shoes and workout clothes
2 Music
3 Basic cookware (stove, pot, microwave, blender)
4 Indoor cardio equipment (I shamefully admit I rarely run outdoors anymore)

What are your favorite tricks and tools for maintaining a healthy life style?

I've got some things that help me in the kitchen:

This olive oil sprayer is awesome! It doesn't clog, and a couple of spritzes is all I need for an entire pan of chopped veggies to roast or grill. It's much easier to coat the surface of a pan or a food without accidentally using too much. I weigh the bottle before I spray and then after to get the amount used. evooilsprayers.com/

Nutritional yeast: love, love, love this. So yummy on veggies, eggs, salads, and in things like eggplant "meat"balls. My family doesn't care for it but they don't notice when it's part of a recipe. It doesn't taste like cheese exactly but for me it's just as good (especially when paired with avocado)

Everything But the Bagel seasoning: my new favorite to go on anything savory including eggs, salads, meats, veggies, and in yogurt dip. Found in the spice aisle or alongside the bagels!

A good food scale - the quintessential must have. I do everything in grams... my scale does fractions for ounces (e.g. 5 1/2), which I hate, but not enough to buy a new one :)
