Stay away from fried foods, fast foods and fake foods. Drink water, exercise and choose lean meat plus lots of veges.

IMO the more things you do to build & support a strong immune system, the better your body will be prepared when exposed to viruses, bacteria, and other "attacks" from within & without!

* stress can cause a LOT of harm to the body! -- learning to manage it in healthy, balanced ways can definitely boost your immunity
* adequate sleep -- the body restores itself during sleep; without healthy sleep, the body will wear down quicker
* adequate nutrition -- the more one-ingredient foods one can take in (without added chemicals), the more the body can be nourished with vitamins, minerals, and fiber
* regular movement of some sort! -- Move it, or lose it!

what's your definition of healthy ?

For what I think I need to do to stay healthy, I need to do the following each and every day for the rest of my life.

1) Eat wholesome foods that nourish my body, avoid highly processed foods, junk food, fast food.

2) Be mindful of my portion sizes; indulge, but don't over indulge.

3) Be active in some way each and every day

Probably is no ONE way....lots depends on your current health situation. For me, it was to lose weight and start to move.
Talk to your doctor and see what issues you might have (or not) and work from there.

Persistence is more important than perfection.

Don't assume your freedoms are assured.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

I have found that for me I have to pay attention to all components - physical, mental and spiritual (however you define that for yourself). So eating right and exercise for the physical, reading/talking/a job I love for my mental, and quiet times/reflection (prayer if you will) for my spiritual self. If I neglect any of these areas, the others seem to fall by the wayside.
