Thanks guys that was really helpful! I also had a light bulb emoticon moment. Instead of making protein shakes I have also been adding the(vanilla) powder to things like yogurt or oatmeal. I made some pumpkin muffins for my preteens/teen breakfast and snuck some in there too and they LOVED it. I guess it also kinda helped that I added some semi sweet chocolate chips! lol

I've just added sardines as a midnight snack! (:

Sardines in water have fewer calories than in oil. Sardines in olive oil have more Omega-3. Avoid sardines in sunflower oil, and other oils that are high in Omega-6. : https://wellnessmama.com/14433/omega-6-vs-omega-3/

Some of my favorites:

Siggi's raspberry yogurt cup with 1T chocolate chips

Egg salad made with 3 egg whites and 1 egg yolk (mash the yolk with 1 T avocado oil mayo, yellow mustard, and lemon juice) stuffed in a bell pepper

Aldi Original flatbread topped with a little spaghetti sauce, turkey pepperoni, and a sprinkle of mozz, rolled and microwaved until cheese melts a bit.

Take life one day at a time - enjoy today before you worry about tomorrow.

As previously mentioned, if you can find Siggi's Icelandic skyr style yogurt, this is a good choice. These are not 'sweet' due to low added sugars, and they have some tasty flavors: orange & ginger, rhubarb (which I haven't been able to find), mixed berries, vanilla bean.

Life is too short to have a bad day.

Seapoint Edamame Beans... you can get single serve frozen microwave packs (100 calories, with fiber, and like 10 grams of protein... I thaw them enough so that I can eat them cold). You can also get them dried and lightly salted.

If you start adding in some extra protein with meals, it really helps. A bit of cottage cheese or some hemp seed w/ salads and greek yogurt really make a difference for me. emoticon

Personal favourites for a protein hit:

- plain Greek yogurt (non-fat if you prefer) or cottage cheese --- add some fruit / berries if you have room for some extra carbs
- salmon or tuna salad made with plain Greek yogurt or cottage cheese instead of mayo (the fish is higher fat - but all good stuff)
- sliced meats (I always cook extra chicken, beef roast, pork roast, etc. and freeze in slices --- great for a quick snack along with some pickled veggies like asparagus / sauerkraut / dill pickles)
- egg or egg white omelet (I most often use a mix of a single egg with 120-180g of egg white), topped with either fruit or veggies

The lowest in calories would be going with a straight egg-white omelet, but that is also the lowest in overall nutrition (lots of protein - not much of anything else).
