I alternate between a carnation instant breakfast packet in 1 glass of non fat milk, a banana, or some yogurt...I have never been able to eat breakfast and still find that if I eat anything heavier than these things I will get sick but I know that skipping breakfast doesn't work for me either so these are the things that work for me. Now I can eat "breakfast" for dinner, eggs, bacon, toast, and the like without a problem so I think it is definitely the time of day more than what the food is.

Your metabolism boosts in the morning after fasting through the night, that is where the term break fast or breakfast comes from. If you skip breakfast you tend to gain weight and mess up your metabolism, you actually slow it down. Eating a decent breakfast, medium lunch and medium dinner are much better for you and will increase your chances of losing weight.
