I had my IUD placed after my first child in 2007 and had it removed this year on January 9th. It worked well in regards to preventing me from getting pregnant. I had an irregular period but that was fine, as long as I didn't get pregnant. HOWEVER, the weight gain is no joke! I was always athletic, active, and weighed a solid 145 lbs. When the nurse weighed me before I went in the room to get my IUD taken out, I was 185 lbs!! This happened slowly but surely. Trying to lose weight has been a crazy struggle for me while I had my IUD. Not to mention my big stomach. I always had a flat stomach and small waist (genetics). It was crazy! The weight just didn't wanna come off!!
Since January ninth (still working out and eating right) I've lost 7 lbs so far. And my stomach is already on its way to getting back to normal. I know this doesn't happen to everyone but I'm not the only one saying that this thing made me gain a significant amount of weight. It did its job but I had to deal with years of stubborn weight loss.

I see everyone saying they gained weight but didn't try with diet or exercise. I have done both and not lost a thing! I count calories and do 90 mins of strength/toning exer per week and I run 14 miles! NADA. Had my Mirena removed and couldn't be happier. I expect the weight to start slowly coming off. I plan to weigh myself in 1 month. I am praying that was the culprit!

I know everyone has a different story, so I want to tell you mine.

I got mine put in 2 years ago after my second child was born. While I am not one of those that has lost her period, I don't have horrendous cramps anymore and I have a more regulated light period.
I love my Mirena.
I did gain weight the last two years, but I wasn't exercising at all and I couldn't keep myself from eating all day.
I joined Spark People 5 weeks ago and so far have lost 10 lbs and 3 inches. So I definitely can't blame the Mirena on my weight gain and it isn't hindering my weight loss.

Hello Ladies,

Allow me to share my Mirena story... I got my Mirena when I was 31 I am not just about to turn 35 in Feb, 2012. When I got my Mirena yes I weighed 180lbs so I was about 20lbs over weight...I could handle 20 lbs overweight that is easy to deal with not super hard to take off.

So since I have had my Mirena almost 4 years, I have acne, depression, hair loss, fatigue, and have gained about 60 lbs give or take a few depending on my water intake. I have done internet research and have found literally hundreds of women who have experienced massive weight gain and many other side effects because of Mirena.

While searching the internet I hopped onto Mirena's website to review the side effects; their website states (i copied and pasted):

Less than 5% of Mirena users may experience:

Vaginal discharge
Breast pain or tenderness
Nausea
Nervousness
Inflammation of cervix, vulva or vagina
Pelvic pain during your period
Back pain
Weight increase
Decreased sex drive
High blood pressure
Pain during intercourse
Anemia
Unusual hair growth or loss
Skin irritations (such as hives, rash, eczema or itching)
Feeling bloated
Swelling of hands and feet
Expulsion

Now yes I got the Mirena, I spoke with obgyn she said it was great, best thing since sliced bread, while I have not had a menstrual cycle in almost 4 yrs yeah I have found that to be the ONLY good thing about Mirena.

I have discussed with my doctor my weight gain each year and she just disregards it and tells me to exercise and eat better. Yeah 60 lbs in almost 4yrs is a heck of alot weight to gain. I do not sit around and bon bon's all day in front of the television.

Seeing how this has been something I have researched and have found many many women to be experiencing the same symptoms I am having my Mirena removed as soon as I can get an appointment with my ob/gyn...I cannot handle being this FAT ANYMORE! I JUST CAN NOT I CRY BECAUSE I AM FAT, I DO NOT DATE BECAUSE I AM FAT, I DO NOT HAVE SEX BECAUSE I AM FAT!

Sorry to have ranted for so long, just needed to get it off my chest (which went from 36-38 C to a 42DDD). Size 14 to a size 20-22...yeah I dont know what else to do other than have it removed and start an honest fight with my body! NO HORMONES, NO MEDICATION FOR DEPRESSION NO NOTHING! JUST ME AND MY BODY!

If I get pregnant then so be it, that is what my future holds for me. Would rather be healthy than fat.

Oh and I was yasmin before the Mirena and had to have my gall bladder removed because of the yasmin *****BEWARE OF THESE NEW DRUGS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO IMPROVE OUR LIVES****** I THINK OUR GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO KILL US LEGALLY!!!!

I am convinced that my IUD is impeding weight loss for me. As soon as I got it put in, I immediately stopped losing my baby weight. I had lost 34 of the 45 I gained and was only going to the gym 1 day a week and no diet change. Since I have put the IUD in (5 months ago) I have only last 3 lbs and am going to the gym 4 days a week and eating a very healthy diet. This is crazy....not to mention terrible cramps, mood change, and constant spotting. I scheduled to have it removed next week-can't wait! I am willing to bet I will lose the last 8 lbs no problem. I will post my results!

I just figured it's time for another update.

A month after I got the Mirena I was CONVINCED it was causing me to gain weight... and it likely was. I suspected that I gained nearly 10 pounds in that first month. Plus I was spotting all the time and felt disgusting... However it would be really foolish of me to blame everything on a hormonal birth control device and not accept the reality that I ate too much and, despite walking to and from work every day, was WAY too inactive.

I've found a happy balance since then where I only make it to the gym 2-4 times a week, and still probably eat more than I should, but really cutting back on high fat things (I need to lower my cholesterol), and having a couple of really good workouts a week at least have helped me lose over 20 pounds of fat now while gaining a significant amount of muscle. My energy levels are almost too high throughout the day, my libido is ridiculously active, I haven't had a real period in months, and only spot a little bit for a couple of days. And, after getting a Clarisonic face brush for Christmas, I have to say my skin has never felt or looked better in my life...

I know that every person will react differently to every method of hormonal birth control... but I really hope people won't read this board right after they get their own iud (the way I did) and then panic about having wasted their money and perhaps seek its removal right away. It takes time for your body to adjust, and if a convenient form of birth control is enough to get you to live a healthier lifestyle, then I'd say its worth it.

I love the Mirena, I can confidently say it has changed my life for the better... If I hadn't made the decision to live healthier because of it, this would likely not have been the case. But since it is the only thing that has motivated me to take real action, I am delighted with it and look forward to spending the next 5ish years with it!

I agree with u! I had mine removed 3 days ago and already, after not doing one thing different, I have lost 2 lbs. I am CONVINCED it did make me gain the weight. I just dont like that the doctors act like it's not a big deal, BECAUSE IT IS!,

I had my Mirena removed after 4 years of battling with my OBGYN. They kept insisting that it couldn't be causing me to gain weight, (or at least completely impede losing weight), a complete loss of sex drive, major mood swings and irritability. I fianlly insisted that it be removed or I would remove it myself. After 4 years of no period (the only good side effect) I had a rather light one for 3 days, then 25 days later I had a whammy of one. Ever since then, I've been right as rain, lost about 10 pounds without working too hard at it, sex drive near completely returned and while I am irritible at times, (who isn't) the mood swings have become so much better.

In my opinion, if it has enough hormones to stop your normal menstrual cycle, it has enough hormones to affect other aspects of your body.
Do what is right for YOU... not for anyone else.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is. Its how we deal with it that matters.

I have had Mirena for a little more than four months now and have had the worst experience. first off I have been one my period constantly this entire time with short 2 day breaks here and there. I cant even remember the last time I didn't have to carry a tampon around with me. I have had terrible spontaneous migranes, I am so incredibly irritable when I'm usually the happiest care free person amd my sex drive has been not all there. my acne is so bad all over my face, and somehow my back, chest and arms which I NEVER had.before. THE WORST PART BY FAR HAS BEEN THE WEIGHT GAIN! I am usually the person that says.you do not gain weight from nothing, but I have literally gained 16 pounds in 4 months by not changing a thing in my diet and exersize. I cannot stress.enough how much of a struggle this has been, I am only 4'11 so the weight looks so dramatic on me, my stomach.is extremely bloated and hard, almost looks like im pregnant! I workout 5 times a week, n I was a trainer so YES I know.what I'm doing, so I am absolutely convinced its the Mirena After reading these other posts. I am going to look into Paragard a little bit more, but I am getting this removed ASAP!

I never had a problem with Mirena IUD. My daughter is 7 and I have used it since she was 9 months old. As a matter of fact, I lost about 10-15 pounds after I got it. I never had problems with acne or sex drive. I have had short periods, but I have had more pms symptoms and mentrual cramps. I'm sorry most of you have had bad experiences. I'm glad it's worked for me because I can't take the pills at all.

This year I am on my second round of the Mirena IUD so I am on my 6th year with this birth control. While I believe all birth control affect all women differently, this one has worked the best for me. I do not have a period or spotting, no headaches, no mood swings, my female health has been an A+, no major weight gain. My sex drive has been insync with my husbands. My uterus tilted after the birth of my second child and I was on the pill. At the beginning of this year I was at my heaviest and I gained a total of about 20 pounds being on the Mirena (over a 6 year year period). After each of my pregnancies (3), I gained major weight (in total 85 pounds), I reached my heaviest weight of 235 this year from the combination of having kids and birth control. My youngest child had turned 6 this year and I knew now was the time to loose some weight. Over the spring/summer months I lost 20 pounds. I have easily kept it off too. I think you need to find what works best for your own body. I enjoyed reading the blog just in case my body decides not to like this birth control, I value what everyone has wrote but just needed to tell my story. Thanks for the info.

I've heard quite a few opinions concerning the Mirena, and I must give mine. Six months after I had my first child by cesarean, I had the Mirena inserted. I had been breastfeeding exclusively prior to this so I had no period, and I continued to not have one on the Mirena. However, I started feeling extremely fatigued, I broke out constantly on my face, arms and back, my sex drive went to zero, and I packed on over 50 pounds. I had the munchies, and an uncontrollable appetite, along with irritability. I had the Mirena removed about 2 weeks ago and had the Paragard put in. Since then, I've lost 7 pounds, I feel more energized, and the acne is drying up. Upon taking out the Mirena, however, the doctors found that since my uterine lining had thinned so much, that it actually tilted. The Mirena was trying to imbed in my uterus, thus causing all these problems that it supposedly couldn't possibly cause. I find that the Paragard is much better, I already feel better, and I hope to keep the weight loss up! I will never recommend the Mirena, and I hope that any person reads this chooses a different birth control method! As far as my uterus, I have to return every month to make sure as my uterus thickens, it straightens as well. Please don't let this happen to you!!!

My breast have gone from a 38C to a 42DD. On my wedding day 2-12-11 I was 235 Lbs. I had to work hard to get down to 215 I and now. I still need to loose at least another 50lbs to even begin to feel better about my weight!!! Any suggestions ladies?? Please help

Well, I've spent the last month going to the gym nearly every day, though I have to admit I don't have the best of diets (I may be veg, but I'm a sucker for dairy), and I am seeing some results. I have gained quite a bit of muscle in my lower body and I'm hoping this will help speed up the weight loss process. So, while I think Mirena has caused me to retain quite a bit of water weight and is impeding the process, I'd still say a pound a week is pretty good progress for eating too much for half of the week.

As for the other side effects, my sex drive has returned (and then some), my skin is looking great, and for now it looks like I've stopped the constant light bleeding I was experiencing the past few weeks. That being said, now that the hormones are leveling out my only real issue is in regard to mood. I have lots of energy, but I am an incredibly irritable person for most of the week, lately. This is no different from how I was on the pill, though.

So for those researching the Mirena, I absolutely love it so far. I had my doubts, but I think if I am willing to work hard enough (and limit my carb and ice cream pig outs), I will lose whatever weight I want. Also, the more time I give it, the more things seem to settle down (side effect-wise) and work out better than I expected after reading some of the complaints here.

Well I've had mirena for roughly 3 years and I'm just now realizing the timeline of my weight gain after looking back. After having a child, i dropped back down very close to my pre-pregnancy weight, and about a month later is when i got the mirena iud. a couple months later i noticed that i was back to the weight i was a week before i gave birth! i was shocked, and even more shocked when i continued to gain weight, having changed nothing in my diet or exercise routine, which has been pretty much the same my whole life. so since getting mirena i've gained a grand total of 40 lbs! after doing a lot of research the last few days on mirena+weight gain and seeing how common it seems to be, i'm getting mine removed tomorrow!

I've had my Mirena for a little over 2 years now. When I first got it, I packed on 10 lbs in a month. I can't say that it was totally due to Mirena. I had a lot going on at home and I'm a stress eater. Since then I have packed on another 15 lbs which I am having an extremely hard time losing.

I noticed you posted this at the end of September. I know its only been a little over a month, but what changes have you noticed since you switched birth controls?
Have you lost any weight?
Have you continued to feel more energetic since you got off the mirena?

These are two of my major concerns with the Mirena. I got the Mirena put in a 1 year and 4 months ago and since then I have gained 30(!!!) lbs. And after reading your post, I am wondering if that is when I started feeling really tired all the time.

Like many who have posted on here, I have not changed my eating habits negatively. I have actually started eating healthier AND have been busting my butt in the gym these last two months and haven't seen any change! Before I got the Mirena put in, I could work out for 2 weeks and already see a decent change. Now, after busting my butt, I am seeing NOTHING.

All my weight gain went some to my butt (I don't really mind that), but mostly to my stomach. It is a *huge* difference from before I got it put in.

I am going to talk to my doctor this week about getting it taken out. I can't continue busting my butt and not seeing any results. I would honestly rather go back to taking the pill, or try the Nuva-Ring, and getting my period. I do *looooove* that fact that I haven't gotten my period in over a year now, but... I really need to get my body back.

My main problem with Mirena is the sex drive is gone. I have had it for over two years, but I don't want to go back on the pill and I do enjoy not have my period and the cramps that come with it. As for weigh gain, I didn't have that problem, however I got this put in after the birth of my 3rd and final baby, so I was ready to get fit and lose weight. I am trying to convince my husband to get a vasectomy, so that I can get the mirena out, work in progress.

I had mine inserted a few weeks ago. Apparently my weight fluctuated inexplicably to begin with (at a physical in mid August I was at 222, at the OBGYN late September I was 215--a change I hardly noticed) but in the few short weeks since this insertion I have felt incredibly bloated and gross. I'm a vegetarian and generally eat quite well (with the occasional pizza night or ice cream) and I have been working out 4-5 days a week, doing intense yoga on teh off days, and I ride my bike to work every day, yet somehow I have managed to skyrocket up to 230! And this change I *can* see and feel. I am confident it is mostly water weight, and mostly right on my belly, but that does not make it comforting.

Plus, while I tended to have relatively good skin and a very high sex drive before all these dumb hormones, I am now a breaking out like crazy, bleeding consistently, and haven't had a naughty thought or feeling in a week and a half.

If things do not "level out" in a few months, I may have to cut my losses and go back to the monthly "&h*t, I hope I'm not pregnant" panic attacks. In the mean time though, I'm going to hope it is just my imagination, see if reducing my sodium intake and increasing water helps, and cross my fingers.

I just started on the Mirena about a month ago and I have gained a few pounds, but I have to say I haven't been eating well or exercising like I should be, so it doesn't surprise me. I actually had the Paraguard removed and switched to Mirena because my periods were so gross and disgusting on Paraguard, I couldn't take it any longer. I heard that Mirena would remedy that and I didn't notice that weight gain was a side effect. I did lose about 30 lbs on Paraguard, but gained about 10 back over the summer. At this point, I'm not ready to point fingers at anyone but myself, as I was following a great diet and exercise routine and then fell off it. I hope that with some renewed will power, Mirena will work for me. I am going to give it at least 6 months, and if not, then maybe it's my hubby's turn to go to the doc!

I had the mirena placed over two years ago right after I got married. Before I had it inserted, I weighed 115. I am a health major, and have always been very active and eaten well for the most part. Shortly after getting the IUD I weighed 130. This was very distressing to me because I didn't feel I changed much about my diet. I was still exercising a lot and eating healthy. In the past if I gained a few pounds, I simply cut back on my serving sizes and cut out all sweets and I would lose weight quickly. I figured I was just eating too large of portions, so I cut back and cut out all sweets. I did this for months and didn't lose an ounce. I became concerned and discussed it with my doctor. She told me a lot of women gain weight after they get married because they become comfortable and aren't concerned about finding a mate. She also said women tend to eat larger portions after they get married because their spouse is eating larger portions. She did a blood test to make sure it wasn't a thyroid issue and it wasn't. I left feeling discouraged and set a new resolve to strictly monitor my calorie intake. I have never had a problem losing weight and nothing I was doing was helping. I again discussed this with my doctor and she said it was probably genetics and I needed to cut our all carbs and follow the South Beach diet. I did as she told me and followed the south beach diet strictly for 4 months. I did lose 5 pounds in that 4 months, but it was very difficult and I felt like I was starving all the time. I ate the same way before my IUD, as an experiment for a college class and I lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks going from 115 to 107. When I asked the doctor if it was possible that the IUD could cause weight gain and difficulty losing she said absolutely not. She said women always blame birth control for their weight gain when it's their poor eating habits and lack of exercise. After doing the south beach diet for 4 months and only losing 5 pounds, I decided to live with the weight gain and resume my normal eating habits which does include some baked goods, I quickly gained the 5 pounds back. I am still struggling to lose the weight, and have gained 5 additional pounds (which is most likely due to my newly aqcuired love for baking). I have always wondered if the IUD had something to do with it. My doctor told me the hormones don't go into the blood stream, so there's no way they could even affect me. I've tried to research it further, but have found it difficult. Of course the Mirena official site isn't at all helpful. I am having it removed next week because my husband and I want to get pregnant. my hope is after having it out I will be able to lose the 20 pounds I have gained before becoming pregnant. Having it removed will hopefully give me a better indication if it was the IUD that caused the weight gain, or if it is genetics, slowing metabolism, or marriage as my doctor claims.

Sounds like I have chosen weight gain over, terrible cramps and surgeries to remove the endometriosis that I have really bad. Also I have Interstitial cystitis, and the Merina helps a great deal with that too.
Yes I have gain about 20 lbs since it was put in a year ago but I chose that over all the pain I had before. If it were just for birth control then no way, but medically it can really help.

I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.

I also believe that my mirena IUD has caused a significant amount of weight gain for me. I had mine inserted in October of 2008 and I have noticed slow weight gain over the years. Yes I love that now I have virtually no period but the weight gain is horrible. I'm scheduled to have it out today. I have gained 30+ pounds plus I have been moody and having a lot of acne. I have enough problems with my weight but this is not making it better. Wish me luck...hopefully this will help me at least lose a pound.emoticon

I did feel some Mirena crash but it wasn't that bad. I felt super tired for two days and slept pretty good. I am on day 5 now and stopped bleeding and it wasn't too ad given that I had it replaced with a paraguard IUD. Already my waist is smaller and down 2 lbs. I suspect I would lose maybe 5 tops.....will keep posted. I just want to be able to lose.

Just got my mirena out and switched today with the paraguard. Didn't hurt at all just pressure. Slight period cramps and light bleeding. Afterwards I felt really sleepy from having it removed then I noticed overall I just felt more awake and my senses just seem more keen and less hormonal. I feel like a veil was removed from e:) I even smell better too how crazy is that. For two years my nose has been stuffed;). I am expecting to have a mirena crash here in a few days. Will keep you posted. I am pretty happy so far on the switch to non hormonal.

I suspect that my Mirena is contributing somewhat to my weight gain since I've gotten it. At first I thought it was because my daughter had weaned from nursing but I really don't think she'd been nursing enough to have gained that much.

I'm really considering getting it removed when I go in for my yearly checkup. I don't really want to do anything hormonal, at least for awhile, so I think I'll stick to charting for awhile.

I have had the Mirena IUD for over two years now and it haven't worked for me. I still have a heavy period every month for seven days as if I wasn't even on birth control at all. Over the past two years I have gained over 40 pounds since my second child's birth. I have good eating habits and I am very active. I just can't seem to get the weight off. The only time that I seem to loose a couple of pounds is if I get sick. I have to get rid of this Mirena.

To the previous poster. I had the paraguard for 3yrs. The insertion hurt like hell and my periods and pain were pretty rough for a few days. The next few months I was bleeding pretty heavy but I stuck through it. In no time it was like I never had it. I am getting the paraguard again any day now. My doctor had to order it and they are out here overseas.

If I would have known this info on Mirena it would have never been an option for me.

Mirena was a nightmare in every possible way. I have had no problems in the total of 10 years I've had copper other than slightly heavier bleeding and occasional cramping for the first month or so.

HOWEVER, you should look at the list of side effects before you consider it - don't just take my word or anyone else's on the web. That's how I walked down the nightmare road of Mirena... you have to see what's right for YOU.

Progress, not perfection.

I've had problems ever since I got Mirena, I'm 3 years out from having it removed and I've had uterine infections, possible fibroids. I had constant pain and they had to remove it...one doc suggested that because of my weight loss maybe it had gotten moved around causing problems. I didn't like how it affected me emotionally and I had horrible migraines. not trying to sound "worst case scenario" but I am not a fan.

Has anyone tried the copper IUD. I was thinking of using the Mirena, but I don't like the side effects I've read about. I know the copper is non-hormonal. Does it have any side effects other than extended periods?

I had had just recently gotten the Mirena put in the end of last month. I didn't know that it would make you gain weight rapidly. I have noticed that I have gained weight with 3 weeks. I have been craving more food, When I was on the pill and paraguard my body didn't react in this manner. I have always wanted to loose weight since I had my second child back in 2009. Since I just started it I will get back to you all on my challenge to the weight lost.

Sounds to me that it's the IUD. Either women are gaining with it or not losing. Not all there are those that it doesn't effect at all. I only wish I was because this BC is the greatest. Last month I had Pneumonia and was on strong antibiotics. I didn't lose weight with it but this month I had my first monthly and I ovulated. I also lost 4lbs right off doing the same workout eating regime. I talked to my doc yesterday while we were discussing switching my paraguard and he told me that the hormone was lessened in my system due to the Antibiotics. He said that probably shows me right there that this hormone is sensitive to me. Can't wait to get this switched so I can progress at a normal pattern at losing the rest.

Not everyone gains weight from it. I didn't but I do have an inability to lose. My ENDO was checking me for any reason as to why I am struggling using. He suggestion is it's the Mirena. I was scheduled to take it out 26 April but do to my job I was sent out of the country. Then when I came back no one in my clinic had appts or could place the Paraguard.

Tomorrow officially my mirena comes out and in two weeks my Paraguard will be placed. It had to be reordered since the clinic decided to place it in someone else. I am stationed overseas and the military has a different way of doing things:)

I am a second time Mirena user and it has been great for me. I have not gained any weight with it and it hasn't affected me emotionally. I also love having no periods! However I do know some ladies who have dealt with similar side effects, like moodiness and weight gain. I think all the Birth control methods have side effects that all affect us differently. I'm actually working right now to lose the weight I gained while on the BC Pill, and you are right, when people claim you wont put on weight with the pill, or Mirena, they haven't been there. I put on 20lbs within a few months of being on the pill when I was first married, plus I started getting 10 migraines a month. It was awful. A couple years into using one pill, I complained to my midwife about the weight gain and headaches, what does she do?! She switches me to a different brand and..I gain 20 more lbs, keep having terrible migraines all month, and this pill made me more moody. I have had two kids and lost all the baby weight within the first few months of having them, the weight I'm battling now is the weight from the horrible BC pills I was on. The good news: thanks to SP and am only 10lbs from weighing what I did before getting put on the pill.

Is it wrong to fight time, to turn it back or push it forward? Time was never mine.

I am having my Mirena taken out in the 14th. I have gained 20lbs in the 4 months I have had it in. I had no idea it has been linked to weight gain. I am getting mine out because for some unknown reason it has managed to come loose and is now embedded in the top of my uterus. I was planning on just having them put a new one in when they take the old one out since I was told the chances of it comming loose twice is somewhere around 1 in a trillion :) but now that I am reading about all the weight gain concerns I will have to consider my options.

I just had my IUD placed a week ago. So far so good. I am a little concerned with all this talk of weight gain. I have gained 14 pounds since quitting smoking and cant bear the thought of gaining any more! I have started actively working to get the 14 pounds off and have lost 2 so far. I will keep you posted of any huge unexplained gains/losses.

I am just going to say I had my Mirena in for 2 1/2 years and just recently got it out 5 weeks ago. I didn't have a period the whole time I had it in and come to find that I had gained 40lbs after having it placed, but in the last five weeks after having it removed I have already lost 12lbs and feeling much better without my hormones all over the place. Dont get me wrong it did its job on preventing baby #2 but im not sure that it was worth gaining enought weight as if I were have another baby. One of the warning signs on the web site was weight gain but they didnt say that much.

I've had the mirena for 3 and a half years now and I am now at my lowest weight that I have ever been. Before I got mine I had read about people gaining weight with it but I love mine! But hormones do crazy things!!

I got mirena less than a month ago, gained 20lbs in less than 2 weeks. 15 in 3 days. I'm miserable, bloated, and depressed. I'd lost 100lbs over the previous 18 mos and feel like an utter failure, even though I haven't "done" anything wrong. Called the dr and was given the party line "it's not supposed to cause weight gain." "Fabulous- tell that to my scale." 2/3rds of my new wardrobe doesn't fit now... My mood swings are epic, and I ache all over from the 20lbs of water weight (I am so puffy, it's hard to describe. even my tennis shoes are tight) that "magically" appeared. Office told me to give it 3 mos, if I don't "level out", we'll talk about removal. Ugh. I haven't even PAID for this thing yet!
