I quit 4 months ago. After trying every other way I took champix which helped me so much. It makes you feel really sick but for the first time in years it took that constant craving away. I was desperate and needed all the help I could get!
You can do it. Just take it one small goal at a time. And when you achieve that goal. Make another one and so on and so on. And before you know you are kicking goals left and right. Here's to you reaching your goals. And take it from a really heavy smoker (2pk day) and now smoke free for the past 7 years. I quit cold turkey with help from an awesome support system and lollipops. We are here for you!!

What it took for me after years of on and off again smoking was the heart doctor after I had my Stint put in the back of my heart stating that if I did not quit I would probably not live to see my 60th birthday! Right there and then I quit and it was relatively easy considering all the times I had tried before! Have been smoke free since then - - 67 now and was 57 at the time! So 10 years smoke free! However started at 16 so lots of years smoking! And yes it took one hell of a toll on my lungs as I have to take lots of breating medications to even be able to do that! But getting better. Now if I can only get my Weight and physical shape under control!
But that is another fight with an upward battle!

Quit cold turkey, after a few days the nicotine is out of your system. Then its kicking the habit, cinnamon gum helps a lot. I quit 12 years ago. and I was a very heavy smoker. Best thing I could have ever done. Wouldn't go back for a million dollars. Good luck. Keep it up.

I kicked every bad habit imaginable, so I will offer one bit of advice. Slay your dragons one at a time or they will gang up on you. Get rid of the nicotine addiction first (four or five months without *any*) and then concentrate on diet and exercise. Good luck in whatever route you choose.

Hi Everyone I am new to this forum ...I am 44 yrs old and my hubby and I are trying to quit smoking and lose weight no small job let me tell you ...he has done well he is smoke free for over 3 weeks and went cold turkey and vapes but with no nicotine . I took the live strong root where I wean myself off I am now down to 2 a day some days are better than others...the thing is when I do have that 2 I feel guilty and think something bad is going to happen...I have started working out 4 days a week even if it is 10 min on one day I vowed to do something each of those 4 days ...I don't believe how hard this is ...I need to lose about 10 pounds and my hubby 50 pounds but we are struggling lol ....we walk and do low impact cardio ...we are going to join a salsa dance class one day a week for 1 hr ...eating we need to improve on ...it is just frustrating I have quit before but am finding it more hard this time.
