I am placing another vote for a tracker of some sort. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 as an activity tracker for daily wear. I use a Garmin Forerunner that has a GPS for running and walking outside. I am probably switching to a Garmin daily activity tracker because it has a GPS which is more accurate for calculating distance and such.

There are also trackers that do about what a pedometer does... count steps plus tell you how far you've gone based on stride length that are much cheaper and work pretty well. I have a high end Garmin watch but DW still has a Garmin Vivofit that works just fine and you can find them for around $40 refurbished. The other alternative is to just time your walk and plot the approximate distance on a map as mentioned and then just go to one of the many mph calculators you'll find online. Here's one:

Good luck and stick with the walking... it works!

Easiest way is to plot out your walk on a map. Spark used to have this feature, but I can no longer find it. MapMyRun.com is a free site that will let you plot out where you went, enter your time in and calculate your speed for you. Then you can enter that into Spark. There are also certain GPS enabled watches (Garmin) that will do this for you. So when I go on my runs, I hit a button on my Garmin to get signal, once it gets a signal I hit start, run where ever I want to, hit the stop button at the end and Garmin tells me how far I went and how fast I went and it will even show me on the map once I put it into Garmin Connect. These kinds of watches usually start at around $150, so consider that accordingly.

-google first. ask questions later.

Shared 74, go to the fitness tracker; type walking in the search bar. Click on the walking entry you want and follow the directions from there.
