In addition to more toning for the muscles you'd like to shape, please know that losing weight unevenly is completely normal! It may all even out in due time, but you may want to consider incorporating more upper body strength exercises as well.

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

If you want to build a booty, add some real lower body strength training 2-3 times a week, not just walking with ankle weights (which as others have noted is not a good idea anyway). Fitness Blender has a whole set of free videos to help you learn how to do this (and 2 separate paid programs that use the free videos), but I'm sure there are lots of others out there. Check YouTube or the SparkPeople videos and articles for some ideas on how to get started.

Get rid of weights, hill walking is a great way to get toned butt. And squats. They also help the bottom line.

The worries of a 22 yr old.. emoticon emoticon Your conditioning your whole body with all that walking, if you want your rump to remain "Kardashian" walking up very steep hills and other Glute exercises may help! Good Job with the fitness routine! emoticon

Congratulations, you are totally normal.
No one loses weight proportionally. We lose in different areas at different times.

And, yeah... ankle weights are a serious injury waiting to happen.

Walking with ankle weights is not a great idea. The knee joint is designed to be compressed, not stretched, but slowing the momentum of the weight with every step stretches the knee ligaments and tendons, and it's not good for them - there is a reason "The Rack" was a medieval torture device.

If you do want to increase the intensity of your walking, increase your speed, or add some hills to your route. If you have maxxed out your speed and live in a flat area, you can safely carry extra weight in a weight vest or backpack close to your center of gravity.

It is safe to use ankle weights for the slow and controlled movements of strength training eg. leg raises.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Most women would love toned legs and less fat... why are you freaking out?

Please help. I have always been hour glass (I'm 22) and never been a big exerciser but am a size 10 UK. Recently I have been walking 5-6k daily with ankle weights and doing small exercises with said weights on my arms too and a small bit of stomach work at home whilst trying to eat heathily. However my legs are now extremely toned and my bum has shrunk completely (it was mostly fat) and my body shape has now changed from hour glass since age 12 to top heavy. I still have a small waist etc. But this is something thats really freaking me out!
