I prefer free weights over machines, because it really allows a better range of motion, and more muscles activate. I have found that heavy resistance training TO FAILURE is the best course of action, where the failed rep is between 8 to 12 rep range.

i go to a super slow near home for personal sessions twice a week. it's a different approach and i really enjoy it as there's a much lower risk of injury (i have been injured in the past at the gym).

Healthy choices and actions have positive impacts, even if the scale doesn't move!

Depends on what you want out of the lifting session. I love drop sets-where you start with the heaviest weights-max out reps (usually 7-10), drop those grab lighter weights (repeat) and then lightest weights and just max that muscle out

Thank you for all your replies. I myself use free weights and do the pyramid system.

I usually do free weights, following one of the Fitness Blender workouts. Sometimes I follow the videos, sometimes I'll use the printable version to go at my own pace or if I'm going to be working out somewhere where I can't easily watch the videos.

I don't really love weight machines, but will use them if I have to (if I'm traveling, for example).

I take Body Pump classes, so I use free weights and follow along with the instructor.

I was wondering when it comes to lifting weights what some of you do. Machines; free weights and if so do you do a pyramid program or a 21 program or do you just lift
