I do, when a nap is called for! I usually really need one if I have zero energy and/or I'm in a lot of pain. Those are signals for me that I need to sleep, but I try to eat something first, in case I need more calories instead. If I don't eat enough, I get very sleepy.

I occasionally nap when I am really tired. Sometimes my naps interfere with my night sleep so I do not do it often and not for very long.

A short nap on our "napping couch" is wonderful. The couch isn't in a heavy traffic area, it's under a window onto a shady porch and it's peaceful and comfortable.

Same here.

For myself, a "nap" will be about two hours, though I don't count exactly when I go to sleep. Turns out a sleep cycle is 90 minutes long, although naps up to 20 minutes are beneficial.

http://soulspottv.com/blog/doctors-reveal-how-long-to-nap-for-maximum-productivity/

Monophasic sleep, which is considered "normal" isn't. Or rather, it started when electricity became commonplace. Biphasic sleep was more typical before then.

At this stage and time of my life, no. I do better if I don't nap these days. When I do fall asleep, like on the weekends after a long ride, I wake up groggy, and then have trouble falling asleep at the right time at night.

However, I used to nap almost daily when my babies were little and I was a stay-at-home-mom (I work outside of the house full-time now). Then, it was necessary. Between interrupted sleep at night and waking up early to squeeze in a workout, by the time my kids went down for a nap, I was ready for one, too.

I think naps can be a part of a healthy lifestyle, it just doesn't work for me anymore, and I'm at a point in my life where my nighttime sleep isn't being disturbed by littles, so as long as I'm disciplined about going to bed on time, I get enough sleep during the night.

Take life one day at a time - enjoy today before you worry about tomorrow.

I am not opposed. If I'm reclined and the mood strikes I'll close my eyes. On long road trips I'll pull into a parking lot and nap.

I nap on occasion if I'm sleepy and don't have a busy day. My wife naps daily; she's a long-distance runner and also takes meds that make her sleepy. She sometimes feels guilty about it, but it's obvious her body needs it. Our bodies are all different and you just need to do what's right for your own.

yes, related to the temperature being 88 , 24 hours a day for 10 days, hardly sleep at night so end up falling asleep 1 hour after I get up for 2 hours because of exhaustion. I wish the temperature would improve, in cooler weather I do not take naps.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

I would nap each day if I could. During my lunch breaks after I eat,I nap in my car. Friday naps are far and few between because of PAY DAY..gotta go to the bank AND try to eat. Not enough time for nap. Saturdays are a no- no. I have no lunch break so no nap. I catch myself wanting to fall asleep on the drive home.

I love these words by Winston Churchill and hope to live by them:
Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.

Well, since I asked, I guess I should answer. I take naps, not every day. If I do not feel up to parr, I take a nap. It could be because my breathing is bad due to hot weather, I did not get sleep the night before for what ever reason. Studies recently suggest naps during the afternoon, something about our bodies at a certain time need a reboot. Which I guess is better than a donut and a cup of coffee!

During the summer, my schedule is much more erratic and it can sometimes lead to me just crashing at some point in the day. I do enjoy those naps that end up on a lovely afternoon where the birds are singing and there is a little breeze. So relaxing!

Since retirement I’ve grown to love my naps.

Yes, I take naps. I have insomnia, not every night but off and on. I can go to sleep just fine, but then I'll wake up at some ridiculous hour like 2:30 am, and be unable to go back to sleep. It was horrible when I was still working. But now I'm retired, so I take a nap during the day.

Napping for me is extremely rare, just like Patti. Since I started my side hustle at the local dinner theater last fall, I have found myself taking a nap or even dozing for an hour on the couch in the afternoon more often.

This need is usually associated with a race of a longer distance (10k or 10 mile) with an early morning alarm (4 AM or 5 AM) and my theater shift is usually 3 to 3.5 hours. During that time, I am on my feet working hard to seat guests and provide other assistance until the show starts.

Only when I'm sick....

The exception was back when I worked full time (plus) and bus commuted for 45-60 min each way. Often I would let myself doze off to headphone music on my way home...destress time! And there were three stops before mine, so I never slept for long... or missed my own stop!
