They're about $300 a pair for the Elite 50 (other / fancier models can be much more), but you can find sales and get them for less than that. Make sure you find a listing that is selling them as a pair and not singly if you decide to buy them online.

The URL probably won't work because it has spaces in it, but here is the page to buy from PowerBlock: www.powerblock.com/Elite%2050%20Set.php

It's worth noting that they sell converter bars for the Urethane Series, if you think you might be interested in switching to a barbell in the future.

@SIDSTAR1991 - they're adjustable from 2.5 to 50 pounds each, with room to expand up to 90. (I have the PowerBlock Elite 50 set, but they have sets that go all the way to 125 each.)

squat: use a squat rack or power cage.
bench press: don't use clips so you dump the weight if you lift to failure. Or use a spotter.

I've injured my rotator cuff throwing a dumbbell when my arm gave out suddenly. Never had a BB injury.

How heavy do your adjustable dumbells go?

I work out at home, alone, and I use dumbbells for many of the reasons you mention. Also, adjustable dumbbells take up significantly less space than a barbell setup would.

As long as your dumbbells go up to a weight that challenges you, you can get a good workout from them.

Barbell if i fail yikes i dont know how to put the weight off lol.
I will look like a fool nd get injured. Dumbells while bench pressing seems i can put the weight down easily.

Squatting. How in the hell do i do that heavy alone lol

what's the difference between a barbell and a dumbbell that makes it less scary?

Im completely terrifies of barbell training. I also prefer working with dumbells. Im following my own modified routine from reddit. Will dumbells and calisthenics be enough for a buff physique. My dumbells go all the wai till 45 kg.
