i went through 3 wks of physical therapy. then i started back on the treadmill. i start at a speed i felt okay and started increasing the speed as my body could stand. i'm back to 60% where i was. the last bit will be the hardest.
Have you been cleared by your doctor(s) to start exercising again? If so, you may want to check into getting a referral to a physical therapist that can work directly with you to give you proper exercises that won't cause any issues like strained muscles.
I know it can be frustrating, especially getting back to it after various health issues/surgeries, but it does take time to build back up to your fitness prior to those things. What types of exercises are you currently doing? Are you taking it easier than you did prior to the surgeries or are you trying to do too much too soon?

I am having a very tough year. I had two surgeries (bi-lateral mastectomy and a reconstruction surgery) I'm trying to get back into working out yet it appears that I am straining muscles very easily. Does anyone have some motivation for me? Very frustrated with 1-step forward, 3-steps backwards progress.
