I had chronic fatigue for over 2 years..so I know how difficult this can be. Try just a bit of movement maybe chair yoga? I found walks in the woods were helpful but sometimes need a push to get going.

There is also a Drug Free wellness company their products that help with pain, energy and more

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I am a exercise beginner. Last time I used the word exercise was in high school gym class! All a part of a healthier me though!

Peg, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to post about this trainer. I’ve tried 4 sessions and she’s going to be on my go to list for workouts.

I am developing more arthritis each year, and lately my right side shoulder, elbow, hip, and feet are sometimes too painful to workout. At any rate, as strong as I am, I can’t do the standard workouts at the recommended speeds anymore. I’ve been feeling physically like a failure for the first time ever even though I am slowing down the workouts. By slowing down, I am loosing tract of my reps. With this trainer, I can manage it without adjustments that confuse me, thanks to you!

I think that I'll always be a beginner! My favorite all over exercise is Lisa Whelchel's Everyday Body Workout which is compilation of 3 beginner workouts and I also like the Seated Core Exercise video.

I do coach Nicole's chair exercises because of limited mobility. I did one today because I've been sick for a week that has left me quite run down and weak. I'm trying to get my strength back.

Coach Nicole has some good, short strength videos. You can even find some seated strength routines, but all are about 10 minutes. Great instruction too.

I like Jessica Smith and Coach Nicole as well. If you like weight lifting, you can buy a set of resistance bands, like Bodylastics, and use them in your own home for a small investment.
https://smile.amazon.com/Bodylastics-Stackable-Resistance-Anti-Snap-Components/dp/B006NZZH18/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1516473061&sr=8-3&keywords=bodylastics+resistance+bands

Consistency is key. But moderation is up there.

Coach Nicole's total body workout with dumb bells is my go-to daily workout. Just adapt to how much space you have and how much energy you have. I break out in a sweat. All 3 parts run 42 min.

Thanks everyone for the helpful posts - I'd discovered some of these but got some more great ideas. You have each made it a great deal easier for me to find something for my goal of "10 minutes a day"

I'm with both of you. I can't get up from the floor, so it's chair exercises for me. I can do light cardio while standing. I love Coach Nicole's chair exercise series, but wish she'd do some more as have about memorized hers. I went to a physical therapist and do a lot of exercises for my back while lying in bed. They really help.

I love the chair exercise series. I have an autoimmune disease that sometimes makes my joints too sore for getting up and down for floor exercise. With the chair exercise videos I can do cardio, strength, and core exercises that get my heart pumping while being gentle on the joints.

Good ideas. Lowfatvegan - good for you. Recovering from a serious auto accident that took 2 years and a couple of hospital visit. If you can do, so can I. Just start slowly and be prudent. If you would still like an exercise buddy, I'd like to volunteer myself?

I also have chronic fatigue and chronic pain and one of my resolutions is daily exercise if you want to have an exercise buddy online I'm available.
I also like Nicole's chair videos here but like the variety found on YouTube. On YouTube you can find a lot of exercises when you search using the word 'senior' before the name of the exercise and it's slower paced, seated, or otherwise adjusted so they typically don't wipe me out. Ex; senior yoga, senior cardio, etc.

My favorites are regular Tai Chi Chuh and Qigong.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am thrilled to discover a number a good beginner workouts on YouTube -- I think my belief that they weren't there was from looking for truly beginner strength-training workouts. Jessica Smith's "walk and talk" video I tried was perfect for that day. Will look for the band workout. I think Coach Nicole is always worth checking out. And yes, I should check out the Bollywood moves! My energy is up this week, but... I've hurt my back. This is so difficult for an all-or-nothing gal. I'm really struggling with the "something is better than nothing" kind of mindset I need right now.

Coach Nicole does some great short workouts - the 10 min ones are easy to fit in the day, although some may need modifying if too fast for the current fitness level. I also had fun laughing at myself trying out the bollywood dance moves!

I like the low impact cardio workout that is available for members who have premium. Also, there is a band workout on SPARKPEOPLE TV that I really like too.

Thanks, Olga. Didn't think of YouTube for Leslie Sansone. I'm not too keen on yoga or Pilates, and lifting is fine with me; In fact, it seems to be something my body really likes as long as I don't overdo it. When I do manage to get myself to the gym, I do low weights, high reps on the machines and do very well with that. I also do very well at the pool, where I use the warm leisure (kiddy's) pool and just twist and stretch and do all those neat things you can do in water without the limitations of gravity. My body always appreciates it when I get off the computer and move it! I'm just looking for stuff I can (and will) do at home when dragging myself out in the dark winter just isn't going to cut it...

You can get Lesley Sansone and many other exercise videos on youtube. Also, if you search the Spark videos maybe some of the yoga or pilates videos would be good for you as there isn't a lot of jumping or lifting.

I'm dealing with chronic fatigue and cannot do my old workouts, especially if it means having to get out of the house to go to the gym or the pool. I'm also without a TV these days, so the Leslie Sansone and other DVDs I have aren't available to me these days. Some of the videos here on SP look pretty good, especially Coach Nicole's, which I plan to try. I'm looking at her chair videos, in particular. Anybody have others they like? I know I need to keep moving!
