@REDRASPBERRY3,

I wear my heart rate monitor during strength training to track time during the workout.
After doing a set of reps, I can watch my heart rate return to a normal level, and so that is how I know I'm ready for my next set. I don't expect my calories to be accurate, I just like to see how hard my heart is working out.

I see the weight/strength training as an HIIT exercise but at a different level than that of cardio. For me though, it's just fun to watch my heart, but mostly to log the workout time.

Part of the logging is that the exercise is automatically entered into my calendar, so I know how I'm doing overall.

Here's your answer, but be forewarned that additional lifting is involved. You will need to pick up some Benjamins or a heavy piece of plastic to take one home:

It's not going to be accurate. Here's why:

Hope that helps,

Does anyone wear a heart rate monitor while lifting weights? Would this give an accurate calorie burn? What are your thoughts on this?
