Your first step would be to get a good evaluation by a doctor...and ask for a referral to a physical therapist. In just a session or two, they can give you exercises which will target the cause of your back pain... which you can then safely do at home.

Based on a recent experience of my own (and a referral from a good friend and my doctor) you might also check into acupuncture for pain relief....

The best idea is do to whatever is indicated for your particular problem.

It's really going to depend on what the problem is. Your best bet is to consult with your doctor/chiropractor.

We can't give you specific advice here, only generalized recommendations. If you have a medical issue, you really should talk with a qualified professional.

I started out just walking and building up strength. I would also clear anything more strenuous with dr/chiropracter...
Good luck!
