I’d recommend eating something small with some carbs for a little energy. A banana or granola bar are a few ideas.

that sounds good to me. what about before i go to the gym. should i take pre workout or protein since it'll be early morning?

If you're doing a split routine, then you might not need a 45 minute strength workout. You could probably do 30 minutes and hit all of your major muscle groups.

I'd recommend mixing the HIIT with a few sessions of steady state cardio for variety each week and also to give your body a break.

probably 4 as the fifth day would be for core and cardio.

How many days per week would you be following that program? HIIT is designed to be done just a couple of days per week because it's so intense. If you're doing a full-body strength routine, that would be good to do 2-3 days per week.

today I decided to do 15 minutes of high intensity cardio followed by a 45 minute weight session. would you recommend that going forward???

Honestly, the best workout for weight loss is the one you enjoy that challenges your body. If you don't like it, you won't stick with it long term. Almost any activity can be intensified to increase the calorie burn.

In general, I recommend a balance of cardio and strength training. The cardio should keep your heart rate in the cardio zone for at least 10 minutes at a time, and the strength training should fatigue your muscles in 1-3 sets, 8-12 repetitions per set for each exercise.

oh my diet is actually quite good. just looking for some advice on routines etc. read a lot about fasted cardio versus fasted weights, the do's and dont's. a lot of different opinions. unfortunately 6am is the only chance I get to do any exercise.

Actually the best workout for weight loss begins in the kitchen. Losing weight is actually more about proper nutrition at 80% and exercise 20%. You can't out exercise bad food choices.

Plus, not everyone is a morning person so laying an absolute that exercise at precisely 6 AM 5 days a week would potentially turn a lot of people off. If that works for you, that is great! I am glad you found a way to incorporate exercise into your day.
