I count it if it is above and beyond what I do in regular cleaning!

I count it if it is above and beyond what I do daily/weekly.

Definitely! It can be strength or aerobic depending on the activity.

Personally, house cleaning is already accounted for in my activity level. Anything out of the ordinary, such as spring cleaning, I just consider bonus calories burned.
I do not consider it exercise.

My personal opinion is to proceed with caution using housework as exercise. If it's truly deep cleaning like prepping a house to sell or spring cleaning, then perhaps but is it's just your weekly upkeep, I wouldn't.

That type of maintenance cleaning is accounted for in your calorie range already. Moreover, your body probably has adjusted to it. So, I typically call cleaning as bonus activity because I am definitely not on the couch but it isn't exercise.

can you count cleaning house as exercise? I'm talking about on your hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor, cleaning kitchen cabitnets inside and out etc. Trying to lose weight and get my house cleaned. I'm also going to do other exercise too, like walking and weights. Just wondering if anyone counts heavy house cleaning as exercise. TIA
