Yup - 17 on the elliptical, 5 on the treadmill. It was a challenge. My son and I had to get up at 5:45 because we need to gym AND he had to be at school an hour early for jazz band.

I have been "Walking Away the Pounds" every morning. Does anyone have an opinion about the Leslie Sansone tapes? I thinks she is pretty motivating, and so far haven't gotten bored with them. Have others seen results from the tapes?

YES! First thing in the morning! I did 45 min on the elliptical but when I was done I still had energy so I went 15 min minutes longer. Then I went on the bike for 20 min.
I did my crunches and I stretched. I feel GREAT!
I want to drop the wgt so fast that part of me was telling me to stay and do more...BUT I know better than to over work my body. I learned my lesson in 2004 when I injured myself for overworking my knees and had to sit out for TWO months! It is extremely important to listen to your body. Remember there is always tomorrow and the next day and so on. This is a journey not a race!

That sounds great. Best Wishes in your transformation. Nutrition is going to be a major asset in your success. I have yo-yo'd for so many yrs and it doesn't work, I have also exercised with no change in eating habits...bad eating habits.
Your plan sounds well rounded. Keep us posted....

Hey, My routine for right now is, Cardio at least 3x week at the gym. I do the elipitical for 15 mins and the I do the treadmill, I run a min and walk a min for 15 mins. Hubby and I are going to join a 12 week program where we work with a trainer to learn what is the best and most effective routine for us. It also works with us to design a nutrition plan, so I am looking forward to that.
Good job on the exercise, love it when you start to see results.

I like Pilates. I think it's great for stretching and it can strengthen the core muscles quite nicely. But I wouldn't expect any dramatic transformations without diet modifications and additional forms of exercise (cardio, stength training).

Which DVD do you have? Some are better than others. I have Windsor Pilates which I like a lot, but I've heard that Stott and Romana Pilates are excellent, too.

Way to go RadiantRose !! Keep up the great work.
I made it to the gym today, I am trying to do something different everyday if possible. My regimen today was cardio and lower body. This is week 3 for me, since implementing exercise and this week I am noticing the change in my strength and endurance.
I like to hear what others are doing,
what is your routine?

Hello,

But that didn't stop me, No not today !!!!!
I did Tae Bo Yahooooo....and was able to complete the whole tape for the very first time. Need alittle more time to master those hi side and back kicks, when it was too much, I marched in place or did front kicks.....It's ok cuz I am on my way.
I feel sooo Good....
If I didn't post yesterday I spent 1.5 hours in the gym before my first class. I did upper and cardio....
I won't touch that scale !!!I won't I won't...
Thanks all....Please keep posting, You have no idea how motivating this is....
MissAuntBee hang in there, physical results or not you will feel great.
Thanks..

The closess to exercise I have done lately is moving my funiture around in my room & moving a piece of exercise equitement in to my room. To day I have not gotten the want to to exercise. Getting ready for my trip to California. Would be nice to tighten up some. Even if it doesn't show much.

Thank you! My basic plan is Tae Bo 4 times a week, pilates 2 times a week, try to walk every day (have to take the dog out anyway), and track my food intake daily to try to stay within my limits. I take Sundays off from exercising.

Taking it one step at a time.

Mariah, I am winding down with my class, too..my LAST CLASS forever I believe!! I cannot wait to be done. I'm turning in a group project tonight and then two more papers to write. I am really sick of doing homework. I work full time and have been going to school part time for about 3 years.

We are opposite about working out...I am much more comfortable and motivated doing it at home than going to a gym..basically if I joined a gym I would go for a short time and probably never go again. Much too inconvenient for me. I'm glad to hear you did get out today!! Good for you!

Taking it one step at a time.

My 5 day plan really suffered this week. I do 3 days weights, alternating upper and lower and cardio 5-6 days one day off. Due to holiday, studying for finals and guests I was only able to get 3 days in.
I did Tae bo two days and was able to get to the gym today. At one time I intimidated by the "Gym" but as I get stronger and fit I am actually more inspired by the gym. I find working out at home a struggle.

I worked out the entire week except for Saturday. We put up our Christmas tree Saturday so that was my work out...hauling boxes, going on the ladder, cleaning up afterwards, etc.

I had planned to, but I dropped the ball. I did, however, pick up my usual routine yesterday, and I sort of had a pre-emptive strike last weekend and the days leading up, and by that I mean I tried to just push the workouts a little bit longer. Also, live in lovely Wisconsin, and had to shovel twice already, so hopefully that will bail me out...... But congrats to you for doing it! I am jealous! That was my plan... Maybe I will stick to it better at Christmas time.

Thanks for the tip. This time of year is always full of food (parties, people bring in goodies at work, and just the holiday days). I didn't really think about the extra 10 minutes I could spare.

Taking it one step at a time.

Excellent!

Exercising is especially important during the holiday season, since most people tend to overindulge, be less active, and gain several pounds at this time.

Just another tip to help you stay on track during the holidays-- of course stick to your exercise routine, but if you can add about 10 intense minutes of exercise to your normal routine, that has been shown to prevent that holiday weight gain.

Keep it up!

Nicole

I woke up this morning (Thanksgiving) and did my normal workout routine. I'm wondering if any others did or will be doing the same today.

Taking it one step at a time.
