Okay, you are all set. You might want to close the app and re-open it to be sure you pick up the updates.

Please note that your BMR in the calorie differential report may still look higher than what you calculate on other sites because we include a small multiplier to include daily activity. In the context of that report, adding that multiplier gives a more accurate reflection of the number of calories you're actually expending each day.

You can see the formula SparkPeople uses here:

I hope everything looks good to you now.

I’d be so grateful, thank you! If I could see how to do it I would.

Hi,

It is definitely the issue with your weight showing in kg that is causing the incorrect BMR. If you would like me to make the updates that are needed, I am happy to do that. Just let me know.

I’m not sure how to adjust my weigh-in in kg without making it seem that I’ve lost 80lbs. Also, it seems to me my settings are in lbs ... in my ‘current goal’ status, it says I’m set to lose 2 pounds per week, so I’m not sure this is the problem.

Hi,

Your account is set to use metric measurements so your weight is entered in kg instead of pounds. Is it possible you entered pounds into the kg field? That could amount for the higher BMR.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

I updated my weigh-in info, and suddenly my BMR sky-rocketed to over 3550, and that’s with a lightly active lifestyle. My BMR shouldn’t be more than 1500 according to what I’ve calculated based on my age, height, weight and gender. How do I get it down to where it ought to be?
