Thank you Merle for the detailed explanation.
I try to stay up on tech for obvious reasons. I wonder if other members know this information?

It just seems that with all the changes day to day on privacy, the internet, and tech, that more and more of our information is being shared across multiple platforms without our knowledge or consent - and let's not forget "hacking" which is definitely beyond our control. For example, look at Google who was recently fined $5 BILLION for collecting and selling information without users consent. I'm of the mind now, that we can never be too careful with protecting ourselves and our personal information.

We've had our personal information stolen through no fault of our own THREE TIMES NOW. So I'm sure based on the information I just put here, you understand my concern.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in helping me through this issue.

Hello,

You are very welcome.

I have to reply to your comment by saying SparkPeople is definitely NOT doing anything with your private data! We do not share, sell or otherwise profit from private member data.

Your yellow flag description refers to what could possibly happen on an unsecured page IF that page actually has any private data. There is no private data being used on the pages we are discussing so I see no reason for concern. If you were entering a credit card number, I would be concerned about a yellow flag on a site; but, that is not the case when you are just selecting dates on a food calendar. But, if you really are concerned about it, I can only recommend that you avoid using that feature at this time. Our tech team will take a look at it when they can.
Sorry I do not have a better answer for you at this time.

Supposedly, the yellow flag means other people can SEE and READ "our data". THAT'S A PRIVACY AND MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN for ALL of us!

As far as I could tell, that was it. Seems to me, they could take an hour to SAFEGUARD AND SECURE OUR PRIVATE DATA - unless, of course, they're selling it, or profiting from it in some way - which does not make us happy!.

Thank you for all your help, Merle.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the update and for your research! I will let our tech team know about it. However, I would not expect them to have time to look into this for quite a while. They have some large projects and, with limited resources, have to prioritize new projects. I understand about the yellow padlock; but, there is no personal data on that page so I do not believe there is any reason to be concerned about that (e.g., no credit card info, location, etc.).

Thanks again for your research. I am very glad you identified the add-on causing the issue; at least we know what it is now.

Hope you are having a good day.

Hi Merle,

Still not working, and I am researching and trying the add-ons. I can turn them off as necessary when I need to copy, but I can't believe I'm the only one having problems with this. I appreciate you help and assistance. Thank you.

It's taken awhile, but I think I have found the cause. It is the HTTPS Everywhere add-on in Firefox. When all else is disabled, and it is enabled the "arrows" to move forward or backward on the calendar disappear. I also receive a message that your website is NOT SECURE. Also the "padlock" in my browser bar is yellow with a yellow flag. It appears there is something "insecure" about this calendar image, and it says data may be transported.
Does this help you at all on your end?

Here's a good link about it.

Hi Sharon,

I hope this is working better for you now. If you are still having the issue: You mentioned disabling the add-ons one-by-one. The best way is to disable all the add-ons at the same time and see if things work better for you then. If that works, then you can add them back on one at a time to try to identify the problem causer. If you have installed a search bar (like Bing or anything else), than can sometimes cause issues.

I've been troubleshooting the last couple of days on and off, but have yet to discover the source. Have disabled add-ons one by one, and no change. Run in safe mode. I honestly don't know what to do. That seems to be the only issue.

I also use Firefox, but I have not had that issue.

Hi Merle,

I'm using Firefox as my browser. I have my computer set to automatically clear Firefox cache upon exiting the program.

Up at the top of the calendar window when I go to the date I have the food I want to copy to today - in small gray print it says "Copy Meal to Another Day" in small gray font, but nothing happens if I click on that. In fact, I can't click on it. The" little hand cursor " does not appear to give that option. However, if I go across a bit to the "X" to close, the little hand appears. So there is no way to copy foods from one day to another. The "arrows are missing to the right and left of the month at the top.

I haven't tried another browser. I've used Firefox for years, and have only had infrequent issues, such as this one. I'll see what I can do about trying IE to see if it makes a difference. Thank you.

Hi Sharon,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with that. I tested it out using Google Chrome and Firefox and all those functions worked properly for me. What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies if that helps? If you try a different browser, does it work there?

The last few days when trying to "copy foods" from one day to another - specifically something from the last week last month into this week in a new month there is no arrow on the calendar fo advance to the next month, or go back to the precious month. Als when clicked on the "copy foods button" it would give the drop down menu for the meal, but there was no calendar that displayed to specify the date to copy it to - so it is not functioning as it should. Also cannot go forward or backward from the current month.
Please fix with arrows on the current month's calendar display to make it easier to go forward or backward as need be so we can easily copy foods as necessary into our nutrition tracker. Thank you/
