We're looking into this and I'll let you know what we find.

Thanks!

I believe there may be an error in the cycling calories-burned calculation. Pretty consistently, at several speeds ranging from 10mph to 20mph, SP's calculation comes up roughly twice what Strava calculates. For example, I did a ride on Sunday over moderately hilly terrain on a road bike, averaging 16.6mph for a 2:22:20 ride that covered 39.2 miles. Strava estimated I burned 1500 calories, while SP came up with a whopping 3000.

Both systems know my weight and gender.

Based on how hungry I feel afterwards, and how doing 2 hours of 17mph of road cycling makes me feel, Strava's calculation feels much more realistic than SP's. For running/walking, SP's estimates line up reasonably well with other systems I've used and use, but for cycling, something seems really off.

Take life one day at a time - enjoy today before you worry about tomorrow.
