Thanks, Jen. The thing is, I don't think it should be downloadable in the EU since it's an illegal app here. At the most, it might be seen in Google Playstore, but I don't think it should be downloadable. I'm not sure, though. So to be on the safe side, I've contacted Google to let them know about the situation. I'll let you know what they say.

I found the article that gave me the link to download the app in Playstore: It's the big red button at the bottom that says "try our community feed." This is an article telling people about the community feed, which I found on the internet - not logged into SparkPeople site.

I hope that helps!

I don't think a new member could use it b/c our system is doing a check to see if they are an EU user. That's why you aren't able to log in.

Thanks for the additional info. I'll pass it along to our tech folks.

The article was on the internet - not an email.

So is it illegal for Google to have the app in their Google Playstore? I would think so since the app doesn't comply with EU privacy laws. What do you think?

Yes, I didn't find it searching for SparkPeople, but it suggested similar searches, including calorie counter, and the app was right there, and I could download it.

Correct. Sorry about that.

Was the article in an email or just one you clicked on through the site?

Thanks for your reply coach Jen. I pressed a link in an article, which took me to Playstore to download the app. So the Sparkpeople Calorie Counter and Diet Tracker app is still not legal in the EU because of the Data Protection Laws?

Pookie, you said you found the app in Google Playstore. How did you find it?

Hi Tigerseyeheart,

Our tech folks are checking into how you would have been able to find the app, because nothing has changed on our end. EU members should still not be able to access it, which is why your username and password aren't working. Did you just do a search for "calorie counting" in the PlayStore and it came up?

The info at the bottom of SparkPeople pages has not changed- that's always been there.

Sorry to disappoint.

You might be out of luck in the future, but you should be ok for now because you're still in the EU, and all the EU is included. I've copied from the bottom of Spark pages what countries Sparkpeople is available with asterix:

I'm really hoping the absolute nightmare of my country stamping it's feet and leaving the EU doesn't mean I cannot access it.

Great that you found it! It wasn't there at all before, so I'm glad it's back. Now we just have to figure out how to access it. SP now complies with EU laws. See they have this on the bottom of all the SP pages now, saying they're registered in the EU (screenshot):

Hi. I'm thrilled to see the SP app is back in Europe. Thank you! I just downloaded it, but it says "oops incorrect username and or password." Do we need a different password than our online account? It was the same info before.
