If you have a page open for anyone to view it, your status is public. Your activity feed includes your status, but can also include other things (photos, if you lost weight that week, etc). The status on your main page is public if your page is public. The other things posted to your feed (the tab labeled Feed on your page) will not be available for others to see if you have chosen to not have it show. Status is included in the feed, but is also on your main SparkPage, so that is why that is always public if you set a status.

Hi Coach Denise. As I understand it, when I uncheck the box "show My Activity Feed on my page" this means my activity feed is not shown on my page. My activity feed is my current status, so I thought my current status would not show because my activity feed is not publict. That is what I did. But even when I did that, I still had strangers posting on my current status/activity feed. So you're saying that there is no way to make "current status" private, so in other words no way to make my "activity feed" private?

Which on my normal page are included in the option to not show them. They are still followable posts, I know they are public, but I assume the option to not allow them to be shown is for the very reason I am upset, it allows idiots to track your every comment and use as fuel for upsetting or annoying you.

I'm sad and disheartened that it was the case, and that have had to make my page private, but with that I have no way to check what my page looks like online now, what a private profile looks like on the mobile version and if it is actually private.
I loved the new feed and the chance to meet like minded new people and I am missing it already.

TIGERSEYEHEART - on your friend feed setting page, there is the option to show your activity feed and has the following note: "When checked, only mutual friends will be able to see your Activity Feed when they view your SparkPage. However, your Current Status is always visible to everyone who visits your Page.)" So, your current status will always be visible to everyone who visits your page no matter what option you have set, but your actual activity/friend feed would either not show (if you haven't checked that option) OR would only show to your mutual friends if you did check that option. Can you give me an example of a post on your friend feed that a non-mutual friend commented on?

-POOKIE- - That was not the intention here and the team has already been looking into it. I do believe that the posts in that link are for mobile chat/community feed posts only, not for the message boards or teams. However, they are in fact looking into what change can and will be made there.

Actually I misunderstood what you said.... I mean my 'activity status' is set to private, but anyone viewing my Sparkpage (public) could see it. So I removed my activity status from my Sparkpage, so that it just shows up in my Friendsfeed (mutual friends should only see this). But strangers are commenting on my Friendsfeed. So it may be a similar issue to Pookie, in that it's a privacy issue with the Sparkpage, but it's not exactly the same problem. As I understand, Pookie is saying her whole Sparkpage is set to private, but it's public on the mobile version. I don't know if my problem is just with the mobile version and/or the website.

I hope that makes sense.

You're welcome. I don't think you're stupid or paranoid, and I don't think anyone suggested that. I wonder if this will still be a problem when we don't have the app in the EU. I like having a separate place to put more personal things. SP knows the value of that, since they created this feature.

Thanks TIGERSEYEHEART for supporting my point of view.

I won't be made to feel stupid or paranoid for a specific choice being undermined.

Just to add my voice to this.... My updates are also public when I have it set to private - only mutual friends. This is to say this is not just a problem with one user. It bothers me a lot too.

They will be looking into it, but unfortunately, they can't give me a timeline for it to be fixed. If you are worried about that in the meantime, you can turn your page offline and that link wouldn't be accessible to others.

Just because I can't see it, doesn't make it not exist, or stop not being a choice I have made. That link list is there regardless of where I am or not.

LUANN_IN_PA that is absolutely NOT the point here.

The point is I choose to make it private, and the point is that it is public for anybody viewing my page via the mobile site. They can do it. That is the problem. I can view my own when I want, I can do without manic idiot stalkers following me around ever again.

I am really peeved it's just sitting there public when it's a recorded choice of mine to make them not public.

"when they have time"... ok, well thanks?

I have sent a note for the tech team to take a look at this when they have time.

Can you use the regular website and NOT the mobile version?
That is what I do on my iPhone.

Where exactly on there are you seeing those as public?

I have this specifically turned off yet on this clunky mobile version we are being made to use they are public.
You stop the app due to privacy laws and then invade chosen privacy options via the mobile version.
