Those kinds of pieces would stay on the site b/c they are a blog or article. But if you see members being featured in the Motivational Member section, they should be active and not have their pages set to private.

This was a feature on my home page today. Yet, the article is from 2014 and I went to the members page....not active and hasn't been in quite time

I DO NOT like the words "YOU CAN'T"!!! Where there's a WILL there's a WAY." It may NOT be the traditional way, but if we look for it, it'll be there. No matter where are on our journey we are HERE thus already an improvement.
Just an observation, but I have noticed many times (including today) that the featured Motivational Member has a "private" spark page. It seems odd that Spark People would feature someone in the email that is sent out when you aren't even able to view their page. Perhaps requiring that the member;s page be public and available for viewing before featuring them should be considered.
