If you're trying to record the swim as exercise, you should be able to type "swimming" into the search box and there are a few different stroke options to choose from.

Jen,

That makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Any tips on recording swim time? I swim 1/2 mile mostly front crawl in 25-30 min. Occasionally I throw other strokes in place of front crawl.

When you record your steps, that doesn't count towards your calories burned for the day. So you could track your total steps, and then whatever exercise you're doing, you record that separately to get the calories burned in your fitness tracker.

Does that help?

I recently bought a basic pedometer to track steps. I see how to track towards step goal but I don't know how to record this as a fitness activity. If some is general walking around vs a purposeful "walk for exercise" how do I record for fitness activity?

Also how can I record climbing flights of regular steps? I do this regularly at work in a hospital.
