@MADAMES - You need to connect it through the SparkPeople app. On a new install of the app, when you go to the log screen, you will be prompted to connect Apple Health.

If you have been using the app already, you can do the following to connect Apple Health (the Apple Watch runs through Apple Health on your iPhone):

Open SP Mobile
Tap MySpark in bottom menu
Tap the Settings tab
Tap Connect Devices/Apps
Tap the “Settings” button under “Apple Health”
Follow the on-screen instructions to do the following:
Exit SP Mobile and open the Settings app.
Tap Privacy
Tap Health
Tap SparkPeople
To enable access, toggle any/all switches to ON (green). To disable access, toggle any/all switches to OFF (white).
Re-open SP Mobile and navigate to the Home screen
You should start to see data in the Exercise section of the Log screen within 5 minutes.

Hope that helps!

Coach Denise

I have been trying to connect my Apple watch to Spark People. I have disconnected my Fitbit, but I am not having any success. Is there a "help" page on Spark?

You should see a toggle option at that point. Can you try closing all apps, turn off your phone and then turn it back on and try again? Hopefully that will clear up the issue, but please let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks,

Coach Jen

UPDATE - 11/4/18 I spoke to soon. Now it's not working or updating again. Very frustrating to have to enter this information in by hand everyday. Will it ever be fixed ??

Today was the first day since I had the update that it allowed me to find Sparkpeople. I uninstalled Spark and reinstalled. If you haven't tried it lately, try again. It now seems to be finding it..... hopefully it will track it (better than it did before).

The only other thing I can suggest is what I told the previous poster below:

On the Log screen, in the Exercise section, there is a bar that shows steps and distance. Tapping this bar will send that day’s Apple Health data to SparkPeople. Note, it will take a few minutes for the data to be processed and visible on the Log screen. Refresh the screen after some time to see the data. (Easy way to refresh is to use the arrows at the top to go to the previous day and then back to current day.)

Hopefully that helps,

Coach Jen

It looks like Apple Health has synced steps to your account on past days, just none for today. Are you seeing the prior day info okay? Have you checked Apple Health to be sure it is showing steps for today? If you see steps on Apple Health, try logging into the SP app and make sure it's showing as today on the log screen.

I am having the same issue. Miles/steps do not sync to the spark people app from apple health. I have uninstalled the program, checked the privacy settings and all points to allowing data to be shared with spark people. I have tried to refresh, waited several minutes, turned phone off and on and still no luck getting the two to sync.

i am understanding that the sync button is only to sync the fit bit, and has nothing to do with apple health app. i do have the program up and running on my phone, i have tried several times to restart the program, but it seems reluctant to update. the program does grab my calories for the day entered from my computor, but will not update the calories burned from my phone app (sparks) to the calories burned on either, any ideas?

When you click the button to sync on our site, does a sync happen?

has anything been resolved on this issue or just work arounds. I have tried several times to sync and it does it when it feels like it. I do realize it is not instant, however, you would think that within the hour anyway. Is it possible somebody needs to have a closer look at a sync button for apple health as the fitbit.

I've had issues for over a year on getting it to continually sync. I basically stopped using Spark because it's a pain having the watch and having to manually keep track of it.
I kinda miss the basic fit bit days now.

I have version 4.23 My watch still does not sync correctly. When it does decide to work it will take me forever to go back and forth between the home and log buttons and the little re-send button. If it happens to sync it always goes to the day before. So all of my activity will go to yesterday's date on spark people. It synced yesterday in the morning after my workout and then I tried before bed to sync for the entire day and it did not work, so only my morning workout synced, but on the wrong day.

We released an update a few weeks ago, version 4.22. Is that the one you have?

We have an update to the app waiting for approval from Apple, and hopefully that will fix your issue. We are hoping that approval will happen this week.

Thanks for your patience!

Try going to the Log screen and allow access via the Apple Health popup that hopefully will come up for you there.

Ciao Jen,

I have uninstalled and re-installed several times... but because you asked, I thought that I would do it again.

I uninstalled the SparkPeople app, then I re-installed the SparkPeople app.

I logged in using my username and password.

SparkPeople opened to a page that wanted me to click on boxes that would allow notifications such as meal times, etc. I allowed all notifications access.

Then a push notification came up. It says: SparkPeople Would like to send you notifications. Notifications may include alerts, sounds, and icon badges. These can be configured in settings. Don't Allow or Allow.
I clicked on allow.

Then I followed the following steps:

1. Open SP Mobile
2. Tap MySpark in bottom menu
3. Tap the Settings tab
4. Tap Connect Devices/Apps
5. Tap the “Settings” button under “Apple Health”
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to do the following:
. a. Exit SP Mobile and open the Settings app.
. b. Tap Privacy
. c. Tap Health
. d. Tap SparkPeople
. e. To enable access, toggle any/all switches to ON (green). To disable access, toggle any/all switches to OFF (white).
7. Re-open SP Mobile and navigate to the Home screen
8. User should start to see data in the Exercise section of the Log screen within 5 minutes.

Now the problem happens here:------------------------

Tap the “Settings” button under “Apple Health”
Follow the on-screen instructions to do the following:
Exit SP Mobile and open the Settings app.
Tap Privacy
Tap Health
??????? Sparkpeople is still not here.??????????

Is there another way to allow access?

Thanks for your help!

Sincerely,
Shelley

I am having some serious issues trying to get my Apple Watch to connect with Sparkpeople Health.
I have followed all instructions on this forum only to find it is still not working.
When I go to settings (on my phone) and then go to Privacy, then click on Health Sparkpeople is not one of those apps that is on the list. I only have BP, CLOCK, MESSAGES but not Sparkpeople even though I have allowed Sparkpeople to access my apps.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Sparkpeople app several times, rebooted my phone a lot... and still can not get my Apple Watch Health to connect with Sparkpeople.
Is there anything that I am missing?
Please help!
Thank you
Sincerely
Shelley
