Day 8 was a no go

Day 9 of 270 did a bit better.

Actually, RC, I eat a low carb diet so that's not what trigger's the 4:00 want to binge. I think it's fatigue and a desire to plop down with a bag of something and eat until I don't want anymore. It's like I'm too tired to care or discipline myself. It's my struggle almost every day. I actually do best if I eat next to nothing...800 cals or so.

Once you start with wheat/fat/sugar/crunchy combos it is hard to stop - it hits the pleasure centres of the brain like a drug!

Day 7 of 270. Today went well. Good ride!

Day 6 went great until after dinner when I had too much cinnamon toast with too much butter and sugar.

I haven't figured out why some days I can eat everything in sight and it's a real struggle not to and other days, like today I feel full all the time and have no appetite.

Doing the best I can.

Day 5 of 270

Today was a good day. Stayed in my calories. Didn't work out or ride but clean a couple of stalls. I put that down as 10 minutes so I'd get some credit for it.

Feeling inspired!

Yay! I met all my goals today...calories, exercise and food choices!!!!

I still get a bedtime snack which will be canned peaches, rinsed and drained.

Day 2 of 270. My exercise saved my diet today...sort of. Rode really intensely and then emptied out our camper which is being traded in on a new one.

Went over on lunch. I really need to prepare better. I know what to do, the morning just got away from me and then I came home hot, tired and sore. And late. Not a good combination.

But, I didn't give up. I tracked my food and estimated my exercise. Netted out to 1400 calories which is over by about 200.

More fine tuning tomorrow.

Day 1 of 270 is in the books. This is going to be hard sometimes. I know that. I will prepare for that. It will also be easy most days. I can do this.

I really need to do this. 71 years old, still riding and showing western dressage. A lot of creaks and groans but I get the job done and not too shabby, either. Just returned from a 3 day show last Sunday where I rode 3 tests each day. It was a big challenge to me and my horse. Next big challenge is mid-September with another 3 day show one weekend and a 2 day show the following weekend. Been a long time since I managed 2 shows on consecutive weekends!!!

It sure would be a lot easier if I lost 50, 70 or 80 pounds. The vet says I'm not too heavy for my horse but I feel that since I work to bring out HIS best the least I can do for him is work to be MY best.

I need to stop giving in to temptation!!! I know how to plan meals, nutrition, count calories, carbs, fats. Just need to keep it all together.
