Day 2 of back at it and I am down two pounds this morning. I did Zumba last night and kept my cals under 1500 which will be the goal for the next few months. This range allows me a lot of flexibility in my choices. I am also eating low fat and working out daily. I can do this!

Just keep going...

What a difference two weeks makes and not in a good way. I am back on it again after terrible eating for the last two weeks. I have gained back all of the weight I lost and am up to 186.6 this morning...eek! I went to the gym a few times but vacation had me eating terribly. Oh well. I need to refocus for my brother's upcoming wedding in six weeks.

Just keep going...

I’m 176.4 this morning! I’m doing Zumba today at 9 am and coming back to shower and head to the beach for a week. Woohoo, only 3.4 away from my goal! Wish me luck!

Just keep going...

I finally weighed in today and I am happy to report I am at 178. I am a few pounds over my goal of reaching 173 by tomorrow but I ate out yesterday, twice, so I know I am carrying around some extra water weight. Lunch was sushi and hot and sour soup and dinner was salad, bread, tiny bites of cake and a piece of fried appetizer plus a glass of wine. I did squeeze in a 30 minute walk with my daughter though. I am also still feeling motivated to continue. Usually around the three week mark I lose my resolve but I leave for the beach tomorrow and I am feeling good about it. I feel confident to stay on track!

Just keep going...

I have still gone without weighing myself since last week and it's working well for me to stay on track. I had a short walk yesterday because it was so super hot. Today I am going to do one of the Spark premium workouts for thirty minutes and hop on the treadmill. I have dinner out tomorrow with my coworkers but it's at a place where I can make some healthy choices. I leave for the beach in three days and I already looked up a gym that I can join for the week. I am really hoping to stay on track and not gain while away. My next event to look forward to is my brother's wedding in September. I am really hoping to be a size 8 for it. I want to look good for pictures and also because I will be seeing some people I haven't seen since highschool. More importantly I want to continue to feel as healthy as I already do. Enough rambling for today!

Just keep going...

I have taken a break from weighing myself, as sometimes it's very discouraging when I don't have immediate results. I have been staying on track, with zumba on Saturday and Body Shaping on Sunday. Tonight I also have zumba. I am proud to be in a place where I enjoy exercise not only for weightloss but also how good it is making me feel. I have been sleeping better and am in an all around better mood.

Diet wise, I am continuing to do well also. Yesterday I went to a winery with friends and I went well over budget calorie wise with a little cheese and crackers and bread and chocolate but my portions were controlled. For dinner I had two potato skins and two slices of margarita pizza, again not great choices but not nearly the quantity of junk that I used to eat regularly. I feel proud of my lifestyle lately and just keep focusing on progress not perfection.

The beach is coming up on Saturday and while I don't think I will be the weight that I had set for myself. I feel confident to stay on track while there, hoping to come back from vacation with a loss. Until next time...

Just keep going...

I am 180 again today and I feel badly that I haven't really lost any weight this week. I am active and eating around 1200 calories daily and also trying to watch my fat and salt. I am also trying to up my veggies. I succumbed to eating out twice yesterday at panera and chick fil-a and I made what I thought were good choices. Today I had 1.5 samosas and they were so good but that does it for treats for the day. I am meeting a friend out tomorrow for lunch and I am 8 days away from the beach. Smoothies, smoothies, smoothies for now.

Just keep going...

I woke up yesterday feeling discouraged because I felt like my weight was stalling but I am happy to report that I am down another pound to 180 as of yesterday. I stayed on track with a walk to Starbucks yesterday morning and a few hours at the pool chasing after my one-year-old. We ate out at a Mexican restaurant, which I love! I stayed within my calorie budget with veggie fajitas, just a few chips and salsa and a few bites of a tamale. I resisted the margarita.

I know I had a higher sodium day and in an effort not to discourage myself, I skipped weighing in the morning. I started the say off with a healthy green smoothie and will be getting Panera for lunch.

I do plan to weigh in tomorrow so I hope to be in the 170's! I have the beach in 9 days, eek!

Just keep going...

I'm down to 181 today and the weekend went well. I ate more fat and salt than usual for sure but I got in zumba on Saturday morning and a short walk to and from the pool on Sunday. Zumba is up again tonight.

I have been hearing a lot about intermittent fasting and am giving it a try this week to just see how it goes. Basically you just eat for a small period throughout the day. Last night I stopped eating by 8 pm and today I won't begin eating until 12 noon. So you have 8 hours in which to eat all your calories. I like experimenting with new tactics and with the beach less than 2 weeks away, I am hoping for some results! Wish me luck!

Just keep going...

Thanks, Cablescyberarm!

My husband came home early last night so I was able to go to Zumba instead of my long walk, which was great! I love the instructor and I really sweat, making the hour go by so fast!

I was on track with food yesterday even though I had a very, very small portion of hashbrown casserole and a very very small piece of carrot cake. I seem to do better with a little moderation than an all or nothing type of eating plan.

Great news is I am down to 181.4 so about 10 pounds down from my highest weight. I am really hoping to be under 173 before I leave for the beach in two weeks. Until next time!

Just keep going...

Hi everyone! I plan to use this journal for accountability and to keep track of my weight loss goals and efforts to exercise.

First a little about me: I am 33, full-time working mom of a 1 year old. I try my best to eat vegetarian/vegan and low fat. I try to work in lots of fruit and veg but often rely on a lot of processed foods. I also get in bad habits of eating out too much and consuming very large portions. I hope this journal will hold me accountable and keep me motivated. I am 183 pounds down from 191 two weeks ago, which was my highest weight ever. I desperately want to be in a size 8 dress and under 150 pounds for my brother's September wedding.

This Monday started my eating on the right track. I have had a bad cold/sinus infection this week so I have been eating a lot of soup. Breakfasts have been only fruit and I had a big salad last night. With all of the soup, I know my sodium intake has been sky high so today I brought roasted beets and a big salad for lunch. I leave for the beach on July 14 so I hope to be down another 10 pounds by then, especially since I think I am carrying a lot of water weight. I tend to lose weight very quickly when I watch my salt, fat and calorie intake.

As far as fitness, I have taken long walks for the past two nights. This has been great to keep away the evening munchies. Typically my workout routine is zumba twice per week and body shaping once per week. The added walks are a good addition and I am going to try for a walk and strength training tonight. The goal is to strength train twice per week, zumba twice per week and walk two hours total.

I look forward to updating this journal every two/three days. Wish me luck!

Just keep going...
