We did not go to the park yesterday. Well deserved wind warnings. It was blowing down street signs. So, I stepped onto the treadmill for the first time in I don't know how long.Oddly, this turned out to be very helpful.

While I was on the treadmill, I realized that my vivosmart was logging more calories burned than my treadmill. My treadmill calories burned always perfectly matched bodymedia armband. (This was years ago and boy oh boy do I miss my armband. Can't believe they discontinued them.) I'm estimating that the vivosmart is overestimating active calories burned by about 30%. My basic resting calories burn has always also been very low.

So, the vivosmart has me at 1903 total calories burned yesterday. I estimate that I really burned somewhere between 1686 and 1786. It could be a little higher, but as I recall my calorie burn was always low compared to others. This was even if they has a rest day and I had a killer day in the gym and was running around all day. As I got further into the diet/losing weight it would drop more, even with refeed days. And now that I am over 50, who knows. So, this is where I'll start.

So, yea. The treadmill was very helpful. I didn't remember any of this stuff until I hopped on and starting comparing the numbers. Now we fine tune the diet to what it should really be, not what i was hoping and wanting it to be based on skewed numbers. Funny what denial will do to you, lol.

I wake up this morning feeling really awesome. Feeling positive and clear headed. That's all I have to say about that really. I don't want to try to make it something it isn't. Like saying, "I have this." Everyday day is new and brings new and old challenges. Enjoy the moment and be in it. (I'm absolutely certain that this positive frame of mind has to do with following through on the whole gym thing. From getting it cleaned up to actually using it.)

Looking forward, I need to finish getting my room straight. I like to do yoga there. Can't do that unless I get it done. So, commitment to getting room done by next Thursday.

Mondays: gym & walk
Tuesdays: park (or walk around big block)
Wednesdays: gym & walk (pizza & movie w/ son day)
Thursdays: yoga & walk
Fridays: gym & walk
Saturdays: yoga & walk
Sundays: park (or walk around the big block)

Diet has not been great. Not going to punish myself over it. Punishing myself is what got me where I didn't want to be. Baby steps......

Yes! The gym is pretty much done. Just some dusting and sweeping left to do. So happy that the hubby helped me out with that. I feel better just knowing it is there and straightened up.

Didn't get to the park early enough to walk the trails, but got a good walk in anyways.

My first workout in, literally, years. Oh boy.....

Dec. 04, 2017

Squats: 3 @ 10/BW

HDL: 3 @ 10/50

OHP: 3 @ 10/25

KSquat: 3 @ 10/25

Push-up: 2 @ 10/13, 1 @ 30/13

BRO: 2 @ 10

Plank 1 @ 30

I don't log my walks daily. Just an end of the week total, not including walking throughout the day.

I was surprised at the effort it took me to actually get in the gym. Here I was thinking that if my gym was just cleaned out, I would just effortlessly go down and get to it. Ha! I'm sure that in a few weeks or so I will have the opposite problem and be back to looking for excuses to be in the gym. As long as i do't get derailed along the way, I should add. Anyways, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting and I feel pretty good about it, even if i am weakling. Baby steps.......

Tomorrow is park day.

Yesterday, it took me a while to figure out how to get my device in sync with SP. Finally got it done. It was a little wonky at first, but seems to be working fine this morning.

Was able to get a little bit more done in the room.

Today's task is to tackle my gym.

Sundays and Tuesdays we go to the park and walk the trails.

I've lost about 30 pounds in the past year or so. I need to lose another 30 or so, but it has not been going well. So, I decided to come here and see if this would help me. Today I start counting calories.

And lastly, I said, "If I want a rock in the middle of the hall, I'll have a rock in the middle of the hall. It's my house and I have stuff to do. I need it out of the way of where I am working. Stop rearranging my stuff." Go me!

Can't believe I forgot. Goal of 3 times a week working out. (Hopefully we can get that darn gym straight enough for that.)

weekly total miles walked outside: 12/5 (actual/goal)

Yesterday's step count was awful. Nutrition has been all over the place, in general. But, I was able to get the bedroom about 50% organized. That is a huge step in the right direction.

This weekend the goal is to get a bit more done in the bedroom and to get the gym somewhat organized. In the past, my gym has always been my one escape. The one place that I could could count on. But, since my daughter and her family moved in with us a couple of years ago, that safe space is all but gone, annihilated really. Why do I feel like I am the one impeding? Anyways......start where I am and take back my power .....and my gym!
