I can't offer professional advice about statins, but you could give them a bit of a try taking a supplement called Red Yeast Rice. It contains traces of what's in prescription statins. It may give you the small boost you need.

At 62, I take a statin. It hasn't slowed me down any. You could take it until you find solid evidence that you should not. It really helps to lower my Cholesterol and reduces my chances of another heart attack to near zero.

Thirst can be mistaken for hunger.
You cannot outrun the fork.
The journey never ends.
Exercise is medicine.
Move to Improve.

I am a 65 year old woman and my doctor just recommended that I start taking statins and I am reading conflicting info on whether I should take them or not based on my numbers so I am looking for opinions Thanks
