I'm a mess! Work has been stressful. My youngest left home. I'm tired all the time. I've gained 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks. And I'm just not happy. I'm trying to get back on track. My husband and I have been walking together and I'm trying to eat healthier when I'm not stress eating. I'm trying to think of ways to feel better without eating.

I saw the physical therapist yesterday and told him I wasn't doing the strength exercise he recommended because it hurt. He told me if I didn't start doing it, the pain wouldn't get better. I went straight home and did ALL my physical therapy exercises! And, it didn't even hurt! Yay!

It's almost a month later and I'm still having trouble, but it's getting much better and I'm back to work full time now. Unfortunately, I still can't exercise, but I'm feeling better so my appetite is back and I'm gaining weight. I'm ready to get back on track and work to control my eating and begin exercising again as soon as possible. I need to concentrate on eating healthier foods and I need to stop eating after 8pm and try to get more sleep.

I have been suffering with sciatica since Sunday the 6th, or 12 days now. I've seen the physical therapist twice, the chiropractor twice, the doctor twice, and something feels different tonight. My back, hip and butt no longer hurt, but my left calf muscle is killing me. Is that normal? I can walk better and the pain isn't as sharp, but I feel a lot of pressure in my lower left leg. The heating pad seems to be helping a lot. I've lost 8 pounds since dealing with this issue. Pain is a great appetite suppressant.

I went to the doctor Monday morning and found that I have sciatica. I was off work all week due to the pain and the inability to sit and bend forward. I saw the physical therapist Wednesday and have been doing the recommended exercises. After getting very little sleep last night due to the pain, I finally sought the help of a chiropractor today. My hip was out about half an inch. I think it may have helped some. Anyone know how long it might take to feel better?

Well, I didn't do so well Friday night but I sure enjoyed myself. I had popcorn, soda and candy and enjoyed the time with my sons. Somehow I even lost another pound. Unfortunately, my poor choices caught up with me and I gained a bit, but I'm on my way back down.

Happy Friday! Today is the real test. I've been doing really well, but tonight I am taking a much needed evening out with my boys. We are going to do dinner and a movie. I'm hoping I will make smart choices and be happy with myself in the morning.

I did a wonderful job yesterday, ate in my calorie range, walked for 40 minutes...and stayed the same weight. I think I have hit a plateau. I'm starting a 28 day challenge to work on smart snacking. When I do struggle, it's usually because I'm not exercising and I'm snacking too much on junk food. Hopefully I'll start to see results soon.

It's Monday and I'm at 160.5. My goal for the week is to exercise at least 10 minutes every day and get back down to the 150s and stay there. I'm really hoping I can build some consistency and stop losing and gaining the same pound over and over again!

Two weeks have passed since last posting and I am down half a pound to 160.5. I was really excited to see 159.5 on the scale Friday March 30th, but that was the one and only day that I weighed less than 160. My goal for the week is to get back on track and get into the 150s and stay there!

I got back last night from a 9 day vacation and gained 1 pound. I was a little surprised. I got tons of exercise and I didn't eat a whole lot. Perhaps the increase is due to muscle? Regardless, it was an awesome vacation and I enjoyed it immensely!

Well, it has been one week since my last post. I had been doing really well and then somehow I gained 2 pounds yesterday? I'm still half a pound less than last week so that's something. I am going to concentrate on exercising daily this week and staying within my calorie range. I'm hoping my warm weather clothes will fit for my trip to Arizona on Saturday. I'm due for my monthly visitor this week too so that will be an added challenge. And, it's my birthday on Thursday!

Yay! I made it to the gym Friday after work and got in an hour of cardio! Saturday I was on my feet all day and got in over 10,000 steps. Unfortunately, yesterday I didn't do much of anything and ate way too much junk food. However, it is Monday and I am back on track. Hopefully I'll be able to motivate myself to do a strength training workout, jump rope or yoga if my back is hurting too much.

I don't know why it is so hard for me to follow through with my strength training plans. I guess I am just so tired after working all day and figuring out dinner that I can't bring myself to get up and do anything else. Here it is, Friday, and I haven't exercised all week. I spent the evening with my boys last night and my husband is performing a wedding tonight so I think I will go to the gym after work and get some exercise.

What a wonderful weekend! My son and I had a great time. We talked, we bonded, we enjoyed every minute. He has chosen a wonderful school, even though it is far from home and I am so excited about his future! Unfortunately, I gained 1.5 pounds since my last weigh in, but I think I did a pretty good job for eating every meal out for 3 days. We got quite a bit of exercise walking around airports and touring the school so that was good. I am back home now and back on track. I am going to jump rope and do strength exercises this evening after work.

I am down to 164, which I haven't been at since December. I am feeling more energetic, having less back pain, and am more hopeful about the future! emoticon I am excited to go on a bit of an adventure this weekend and go tour the college that my son was accepted to. I leave first thing in the morning so will be away from Sparks for a few days. Hopefully I can continue my healthy habits.

I did over 20 minutes of walking yesterday. Yay! My back is still hurting today, but I think it's improving a little each day. If I can keep exercising and shed a few pounds, I hope it will feel much better by Friday morning.

Oh definitely! I like the new week long challenges. I'm going to start the 10 minutes of exercise per day challenge again today because I hurt my back and haven't been exercising. However, I have noticed that it feels much better if I keep moving than when I sit around all day!

Overall, I had a very good weekend. Instead of gaining half a pound like the previous weekend, I lost half a pound. I also met my water goals and exercise goals every day! And the best part of all is that I FINALLY did strength training Friday evening! I'm still a little sore on this Monday morning, but I think I'm good to do my next strength session this evening. I definitely need it.

Yay! It's Friday! I'm down 2 pounds so far this week and hope to increase that number further over the weekend. I completed the water challenge and drank 8+ cups of water 6 out of 7 days. I am taking the same challenge over again to try for all 7 days and am also starting the 10+ minutes of exercise per day challenge. I need to get back to strength training and am going to do my best to do both!

I lost a total of 6 pounds in the first 4 days of returning to SparkPeople. Unfortunately, I gained 1.5 pounds on Saturday, but managed to maintain on Sunday. It is now Monday and I understand that I'm not likely to lose another 6 pounds, but I'm hoping to continue the downward trend and learn from the mistakes I made over the weekend.

Sadly, it is almost 6 months later and I have gained 16 pounds since my last post. Tuesday, January 16th, I believe I was at my heaviest ever, including during my pregnancies! I am getting back to SparkPeople and hoping to get healthy again.

Yay me!! I did my strength training day before yesterday, got in a good cardio workout yesterday, tracked and ate within my calorie range both days and stopped eating after dinner too! I lost 2 pounds in the last 2 days. I need to keep up the good work.

I STILL haven't done any strength training and I've only lost half a pound since my last post. It's time to get back to it and recommit! I am determined to do some strength training tonight after my hair appointment. I need to get back in the habit of tracking calories and not eating after dinner too.

My path hasn't been as smooth lately. Since my last post, I've lost 2.5 pounds (in 2.5 weeks). Overall, that's pretty good, but I struggled with the 4th of July holiday and dealing with that time of the month. Now that I'm back on track, I'm hoping to get more consistent and get back to strength training. I haven't done a strength session in over 2 weeks!

It is going good! I've lost 6.5 pounds in the last 9 days that I have been tracking everything. I've lost weight every day but 3 and my chart clearly shows that 1 day was because I had a hard time with portion control. 1 day I ate out with friends and there were few healthy options available and I ate dinner out and had a hard time with portion control. 1 day I didn't gain or lose after a bit of a binge. I'm feeling so much better and more confident. At the moment I'm feeling very strong like I could definitely continue living this healthier lifestyle. However, I know from experience that it is extremely important to keep vigilant about staying on track. I would really like this to be the last time I lose these pounds!

Hello SparkFriends! I have been a SparkPeople member for almost 10 years now and have reached goal weight a handful of times, but have never learned how to maintain my weight loss. I am hoping to change that by working harder on consistency. I am charting my weight, sleep, water intake, calorie intake, exercise, and trying to prevent late night eating.
