New batteries needed in scales. New neighbours have moved in across the road...nice...Hamish and Lena with little Eli

Got down to 113.4 but have been eating chocolates, biscuits since then. Even baked today!

113.8 today.

I started doing the keto PROPERLY on Sunday. When I weighed Sunday morning those choclates etc had found a home 115.7. Yesterday morning was 115.5 today 113.8 or 9. So ALL WATER NO DOUBT BUT i MADE IT UNDER 114. Hope it is even more b 30 April

Here I am back from Whananaki rally. And slimmer again. Ate like a pig yesterday but was doing well while away. Partly because nauseous from pain Friday through to Sunday. Big improvement now but I am being careful not to strain the injury for a few more days. Sprained neck Dr says, from tripping over th couch and landing against the bookshelf...all 117+kg of me.

116.5 this morning. Will continue being better now!

GOAL; 3% LOST FROM 1 MARCH TO 31 MARCH = 3.5 KILOGRAMS= 114.4

Reading Dr Steve Gundry's book. It complicates things by having 3 phases to go through!.

The rallies put me off my stride. I have been eating sweet treats and feeling I deserve every one of them every day. Got to get back onto keto and planning to eat

116.5. The fb keto dieters ideas are much better than other keto I have been on. Using benefibre to keep me "moving".

Feel a hundre times better without the carbs and not hungry.

8 weeks to get down to 112.1 5.9 to lose to make it.

117.6 today

Very low calories yesterday about 800. Had bad cramp behind knee twice last night from eating not enough. Drank 6 glasses of water through the night to combat.

Today will be opposite. I started out well yog and fruit with nuts and cinnamon, had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch then late this afternoon I had chocolate. And a pork shoulder chop and pudding tonight. So gone ove rthe calories today.

Ate over 2500 calories today. Tomorrow will be a challenge. Will eat lots of fruit and vegetables. We have cherries, apricots, kiwifruit, nectarines and it is so yummy to have the fruit.

No weigh in until family leave,

Had lovely talk today with daughter in law, Hilary who is about equal with me in weight loss. She is doing well.

Hoping to lose more before Monday which is MY Personal challenge day weighin. The Determined Daisies intervening weighin is Saturday. I am going to invite Gwynn who also keeps a journal to join the 5% challenge group.

Margarite has started WW and this week lost 4.7kg. Makes a tryer spit tacks!
AnywayI have to be careful if I am to lose the pound week average and more.

Been reading a good diet book by 2 doctors. Good advice. Trying hard is not the way to do it. Form habits that become automatic even the meals. walk 30 minutes a day and do strength exs. flexibility and stretching.
Now to make me do it!

They use the analogy of a gps for stopping the wrong behaviour for success. Perform a UTurn etc to get us back on the road to success.

No weigh in today. Had enough to do!

Not feeling at all good healthwise and hoping the worst is over tomorrow. 65 years old and period pain! All swollen and sore around the abdomen and back, can hardly walk. Thought I had it all sorted after specialist 2015/16 but it has come back. Wonder if less exercise (echoes in myears are disconcerting!) and quite stressed last 2 months since having to provide the Christmas for caravan club and Andrea's adverse behaviour towards me when telling me she is pregnant also have been hard to take lying down, which I feel I must.

Wrote a blog asking for support. I think I can focus on eating correctly to lose weight again. Dreading going to Nelson and Taupo at the height of summer. The heat kills me. UNable to cool down. There is no pool at the camp in Taupo. Only hot pools.
Deleted the blog. Obviously the message did not appear to ask for help.

Anyway it is up to me to get focussed and determined to succeed. Nobody else can do it for me.

STOP giving in to temptations in eating. It is temporary taste and soon only a memory. Eat the right food and lose this weight.

Aiming for 600 to 1kg a week. Have to stop mucking around.

Today got my intake down better. Though had pudding. peaches ricies and icecream.
Nice meatballs for tea 150g and purple potatoes cauliflower and carrot

Just as well there is no biscuits left is all I can say!

And I can get out to the garden every day.

Another disruptive caravan rally. Gained all the weight up to 119.8. Unbelieveable that I keep going up and down.

Eating bulk of biscuits which I should not have bought.

Back down to 118.6 feel better with less eaten. All vegetables yesterday. Except for gingetnut biscuits and condensed milk.

Improve every day. That is my goal

118 today or 117.9 depending on your preference!

Yesterday I went all low carb but ate chocolate buttons after tea carbs over 100. Still was starving tho.
Today been watching utube for the other end of the scale ... high carb and vegetable diet. To heal your body.

So maybe you can heal by going either way? I need the bulk of some fibre rich food and the easing through of the carbs anyway I now think.

So lets eat starches and vegetable and fruit and see if my sugar readings are ok.

Another wierd thing! A spark motivator wrote a blog on exactly my subject that I had written a ffew days before. She called it the will-power muscle instead of success muscle thats the only difference. She even talked about the neural pathways which I had deleted in my blog.

Weird.!!!

I have trouble with believing I will stay tuned in. Today I watched an advertisement which said to do carb cycles to boost metabolism and fat days to get body burning fat. Said I can eat over 2k calories and lose weight. It really is about what I have been coming to in thinking. One or other by themselves and I always go into starvation mode and gain on low diets. Producing leptin, the hungry hormone that stores fat and makes us hungry to combat the low intake we have been having..The guy said exactly that.

So carb cycling and HIIT exercising will bring results.

Days of high fat and low carbs, days of moderate carbs, days of high carbs and care with carbs to keep the intake at or below

2187 calories,
carbs at 145g,
proteins 265g and
fats at 61g

3 days a week, 15 minutes of HIIT To get the programme needed to pay US$57

119.3 today. Wow I need to get on top of this.

Actually I think I am getting there again. Okay I had 6 cadbury favourites but still inside the allowed calories today.

Today 1/2 c porridge, 1/2 c yog, 1/2 cup blueberries, 6 almondand cinnamon and small kiwi f and a cupof tea.

wrap pizza 420 cal

steamed gurnard on rice with sauces and all the chocolates approx 1500 calories

119.1 Talk about out of control.

I did get the rented room emptied by 31 and all cleaned up. That was a great thing. Built my confidence in myself getting jobs done. Need to sort the junk room fall out now. Took 2 ute loads and carloads out of the rented room. One car loaded with boxes went to Sherryn Comries lot now called Dyslexia Plus in Whangarei.

The more I worry about the coming summer the more I eat.
Pain in right side below the waist including ankle knee and flesh. Pinching nerve I suppose. I need to move mpore so getting off computer!

Today I will discipline myself correctly so that love of taste and eating biscuits do not rule!

The fatty globs on my knees are getting more fragile I think. Got exceptionally cold 2 nights running and they are still quite purple. Legs ache, mind me, my lower back aches too after hefting a great basketful of frozen meat while looking through the freezer

118.4 today but I have taken an oath to myself to go onto the diabetic nutrition food.

Obviously I cannot use the ketogenic ones. Terrible results from constipation. Whole gut felt stretched and ready to drop out. May be the cheese, but something made my stomach carry on with pains and a dragging feeling days after the keto. Couldn;t figure why. Still feels unwell.

So today 1200 calories 140 carbs and a couple of cups of tea to go

118.3 today.
2 days without bread and starches. Miss them at times but I am feeling quite good. It is easier to move. I wonder why. No weight lost. Getting constipated in spite of eating a kiwifruit each day.
So - I am feeling more energy too. I managed to walk down to letterbox ok that IS the easy part, and back up the hill, the hard aprt, after tea which would usually be almost impossible with inability to get enough air into lungs and even shoulder or chest pain, but no pain and made it fairly easily.

Yesterday had 3 eggs and 2 rashers of Henderson Valley bacon and coconut oil for late breakfast and apart from 2 luncheon rounds did not eat until teatime oh and squares of dark chocolate. Tea was rump steak and salad with pumpkin and silver beet.

Today had kiwi fr, rockmelomnadnyog with walnuts for break
had more walnuts later then 65 g ham and 25 g cheese with mayo 1 T and salad veg
mince stew and pumpkin for tea followed by 3 sets of viatweat and cheese about 1230 each day

No weighing today. Quick wash hair, get dressed and eat 2 toast off to whg. Roger's pre op for hip replacement.
Met Andrea. Had untasty lunch at Savouens.
Went to Bunnings and then to pick up my new unnamed cymbidium orchids originally for 3 S per but put in extra 10 as good size and pots etc

So ate a little much but that will help loss tomorrow. Zig zag

End of day 1 on new renewal.and I ate chocolate in too large an amount but generally not too bad. But will not lose on the calories I ate - around 1750

Yes I am still choosing to rein it in and ***discipline*** myself for the future good. How could it take so long for me to win over the pull of sugar? Actually I haven;t heard from Margarite for a few days.

What does that tell me?

I need to learn how to guide myself through the feelings resulting from conversations where I am the strong one all the time.

It is automatic to console myself with food when I get off the phone.

No weigh in today. Testing whether it helps to not focus on the scale. Have had 1100 calories already and will have no meat for tea tonight. Just been reading and realise that we are making choices all day long whether to stay on track or make it worse. So I am choosing to get on track and make choices that help me.
On another note, Poppas place had gone unconditional this afternoon. Settlement date is 10 October 2017. Then we,ll see! Have to get the tax done . let's do it tonight.

117.5 again. I have made plan for tomorrow and printed it out.

I received my first pension payment on 22 Aug. WOOHOO, I am OLD NOW!

I will be tested in more than one way. Going to have drivers medical and renew licence I hope before lunch. Then after lunch, go over to Whangarei and pick up new specs, visit Placemakers to see their kitchens, see if I can get the Auto roller door man to come and fix Poppa's garage door, then visit daughter and meet new puppy.

Yes It will be a challenging day. Will have a good mixed breakfast, take a salad for lunch ( about 130 calories) and 1 oz almonds for snack, Hope it works out.

YES I was nearly 3 kgs more than birthday morning.

Currently 117.5+ kg

Still trying to settle into the weight loss groove after the fuss and excitement. I am flitting all around and not steady.

Have been trying to do a semi to ketogenic plan so the insulin will reduce, but i keep eating carbs and gaining.

Like today. The scales went up again. Disappointing. I had three days of toast for breakfast, with peanut butter and yog and fruit. And bread i day and a wrap the other. Have run out of eggs and greens.

So back up above 116 emoticon

It has been a miserable day anyway. I do not know where my relationship with my daughter is headed.
Today I only ate 600+ calories. Probably wreck everythong. The butter makes your pants fall off guy says that fasting is how insulin resistant fat belly people lose their fat. and eating fat

So weighed in today at 116.5

Was eating rubbish in the middle of thos week then Samala told me of a friend doing the ketogenic diet.

I looked up online for information to see how it differes from Atkins and to see how safe it should be.

Eat a lot more greens than atkins and hoping it will be okay. Found keto team here and may join it. Looks like there are 2 people on there who will be really experienced and share tips.

So I am starving and eating a lot less calories as I cannot see how to build them up. Low carbs, 4-6 oz protein and fats at every meal, full fat.

Today, Saturday is my turnaround day. I have enjoyed sunshine and was going fine and had a fall trying to climb out of the garden after picking parsley and NZ spinach. Have ricked my back neck and have a powerful headache too.

Anyway, I have kept eating too many carbs until today.
Weighin is 117.4 which is great considering the food I have been eating. I had to eat to start losing again...all the starving wasn't working...stayed the same. However eating large amounts esp carbs for 5 days was over the top!

So after tomorrow (going to Jeff and Judy's 60thbirthday lunch and then to Andrea's) I hope to start losing again.

Was learning again about the ole of leptin and how within 7 days of starting a diet it reduces by up to half and stalls the weight loss. It is a fat burning hormone but it also protects body from starving.
So the theory is diet for a week. Then have a day with 1000 calories more then diet, but increase the carbs each day to reduce the depletion of leptin.
I can also drink quality green tea, use Apple cider vinegar and see what happens.

HAAAA! Hope I can lose again. Want to exercise more and lose 6kg by end of September. Have booked the Tapawera school reunion. Would be nice to have more agility and balance by then.

emoticon Been reading and watching about how to control insulin so I can lose weight. Found very basic charts that list the insulin values of foods. Not exactly like GI. If ANY INSULIN is present in blood you WILL NOT BURN FAT AND LOSE WEIGHT, BUT WILL STORE FAT.

Back up to 117.2

but I felt really skinny after the toilet later. May have eaten too much flour products tonight. Was still well within the range. But up to `1400 calories today.
Roger is having the wite low fibre food and I let myself get sucked in.Had garlic bread and 2 pikelets.
Been reading about whole foods plant based diet. Im looking for ways to get the weight loss moving faster. One idea is that you eat less than 15 % fat as the fst molecules in the muscle cells are what stops the insulin receptors from working. So less fat means the mitochondria can start burning the fat molecules very slowly. Once there are two molecules left, the insulin receptors can start working again. The mitochondria like having a choice

116.9 today. Only 200g less than last Saturday. But I got into the 116s


It took three or four weighings on the scale this morning to persuade the 117s to go. Unbelievable when you see the low intake of food again this week. Nearly every day in the 1200s or less. 2 days under 1100.
I might have to break out and gain, before I can lose again. We'll see. Keep trying first with more exercise.

The cold is definitely disappearing now. Not much coughing after I got rid of morning phlegm.
The last two nights have had about 7 hours maybe less or more sleep. Fantastic waking up feeling rested. Less grumpy. Yiche mentioned that getting more sleep would help cold get better. I think it might also need sleep time to lose weight, not just for ghrelin and leptin and overeating, but for time repairing and processing.

Anyway I have touched into the 116s and now I want MORE. This week I will up the exercise as much as I can. I want to lose the 5% in the Daisy challenge.

Today is 117.4 so climbing down again.

I am aiming for 116.5 this week can I get down there or even further? Would be great if I could lose 1kg week.As soon as I can get back to exercise 120 plus minutes and sleep it could happen.

Can't believe the days lost to the horrible cold! have been really sick and still have bad coughs and blocked ear. In fact after a week my nose still stings and gets dry. So there iss till inflammation. Been a wobbly week where my appetite was the only good thing. It disappeared.
So I got up to 119, something then I climbed back down. The cold struck and got me first to 118.6 again. them 117.6 then 117.1. Of course the down changed, Even though I ate less tan 1000cal So now I am 117.6 Hope it will go down again. soon.

Cannot exercise cannot breathe or stay at it too long. Been having exhaustion problems

Well. Halfway through the first DDsummer challenge. Been up and down.Been away from home more often soit is hard to keep on point.

118.8 again today, but it will rise as I had 2 days of large calories

20.6 lbs gone!

Got below 119...118.8 today at last!!!

Feel really great about that.

Measurements. The fat is mostly going from abdomen which is good. Also my face feels slimmer and my neck too. I can feel the hard sinew and muscle in neck.

Yes. I was right, Did not make it. However 1 July, tomorrow, is beginning of the Determined Daisies Summer 5 % challenge.

Drinking water and exercising daily. this is the extra push I need\.
