157.8

I love being in the 150's but I'm still aiming for 145. Kind of stalled and eating too much to move forward (and of the wrong foods). I need to stay on track. So close to where I won't to be. Looking back at this time last year I was at a real low in my life as far as feeling down about myself and just feeling miserable physically. I'm in a much better place now and I don't want to go back!

Finally a size 14.

Trying to get over 10000 steps at least 5 days a week.

Doing WATP on the days I can't get outside.

Still following WW freestyle and tapping into fit points some. I track my calories on fitbit and aim for a 500-750 calorie deficit. I try to only eat when hungry but I'm careful to not eat too little. Some days I'm just so hungry and other not so much. Learning to give my body just the fuel it needs.

On a plateau myself, but believe cutting out the added sugars and mindless snacking at least prevents me from gaining :).
Many approaches to counting calories....whatever works!
as for myself, I do them meal by meal because my short term memory is starting to go, and also so I can decide whether or not to have the evening 200 calories worth of popcorn (before 8pm)
In closing, thanks for journaling...inspiring

I just realized I don't write much when things are going well. I probably should write about why I think they're going well. Hard to do though because sometimes things just click. However, I think the fact that Weight Watchers' plan caused me to cut way back on sugar and that must have been a huge obstacle in my body turning lose of weight. That's the biggest change I've made; how much I've cut back on added sugar. I've also cut back on potatoes, pasta, butter and other fat which is okay to eat but in small quantities. When I'm hungry I eat. When I start feeling full, I quit eating. I make myself get up and move every hour of the day (thank you fit bit). I'm drinking more water which helps with keeping hunger and cravings at bay. I try to get in my 5+ freggies too. I use all my WW points LOL and fill in with free foods. I still count calories but only at the end of the day as a record so if I stop losing I can look back at what I might need to tweek. I'm also tracking steps and FB calories burned (keeping in mind it is only an estimate). Weight watchers has helped but I think if I decide to I could do just as well with calorie counting/fitbit tracking but keeping WW's healthy eating principles of course and I'm going to follow through to goal no matter what.

The above number is from Christmas morning. Can't believe I lost weight after a week of buffets, dinners out and totally surrounded by unimaginable amounts of tempting treats. I'm highly motivated (finally!). Supery Dupery excited to get to goal in 2018 which I actually feel is a possibility now.

Can't believe I'm losing this time of year! So happy and proud. Doing this online along with my mom and sister keeps me accountable and feeling supported. WW program keeps me structured and is definitely steering me towards healthier choices and away from those that make me fat and miserable.

WW Freestyle is going much better now that I'm more familiar with it but it's really forcing me to eat healthier just to get enough to eat. Points on the foods I "like" are very high so I don't get much of that and since I'm hungry I have to fill in with the healthy stuff.

So now I've started Weight Watchers Freestyle program online along with Mom and Marsha. Love that we'll be doing this together. You really don't get many points and the foods I like are HIGH in points. Going to take a while to figure this out and how to use the free foods in a satisfying way. Here's a "before" picture of the 3 of us from Thanksgiving weekend.

Only gained .6 since last weigh in so pretty good I think. It's time to start losing now though. would love to see 178 by the New Year. Although I want to lose more than that I know I feel great at that weight. Did pretty good yesterday only going over by a few and have more of a game plan today: oatmeal with honey and walnuts for breakfast, spinach salad/lentil soup for lunch, beans & a wee bit of cornbread for dinner and some raw veggies with cheese for snack.

Not the best over TG holiday spent with my parents, siblings and their families. But on the positive side I did eat mindfully (except last night at home I gave in to the feeling of travel stress and sadness at leaving everyone) and therefore probably way way way less than I would have if not caring. Also had a great time. Also, now getting back on track!

Feeling motivated.

Have settled on eating 1500 cal a day. This gives room for being 20% off in either direction and not eating to few but still not eating so many I'll gain.

Making much healthier choices so that I get the nutritional bang for my buck with the calories I do eat, but always room for improvement.

I take Red for long walks but I really need to do some strength training.

I weigh 11 pounds more than I did this time last year. Yikes! not a good trend!

Here I am again at my heaviest ever weight and going over my main reasons to lose right now!

1. I am uncomfortable at all times, and in pain at times, from my fat. Most of my weight is in my stomach an it's making it very hard to perform certain basic tasks. I have pain in my rib cage from the fat pushing on it and sometimes I can't breathe well because of the pressure on my lungs & diaphragm. My clothes are so tight and that adds to the discomfort. My bras barely fit and they are so expensive to buy but I will have to because they've become painful adding to the rib problem. Sometimes they feel bruised.
2. The end of my job is now imminent and I would hate to have to job hunt at this weight because I know I look awful and older than if I lost 20 pounds. I probably have a little time before I get the boot (hopefully) but I better start now if I don't want to job hunt in the terrible shape I'm in. I feel very crappy about myself.

I explored Intuitive Eating and decided NO WAY! I don't want to gain and I definitely want to lose at least 10 pounds due to the discomfort of a large stomach. Now I'm just trying to lose SLOWLY with my calories around 1700 a day and one day where I go as high as 2200 calories if I haven't gone over my calories during the previous 5 days. Probably will make this Saturdays. I'm eating a minimum of 5 freggies a day, between 25 and 30 grams of fiber and minimum of 75 grams protein. If I've met those requirements I allow myself whatever I want with the remaining calories. Fiber and protein are to be spread out over meals and snacks. I also put my scale away and won't look at it for one month. I aiming to lose 3 pounds per month. Hopefully the higher calorie limit and slow loss will prevent my body from fighting me on this weight loss and the high fiber will help with fullness so I don't binge. The protein will help with muscle loss prevention and the freggies with nutrition. The only truly off limit food is Trans Fats.

So I bailed on the BLC - binge shame

I've been binging reading on how to stop binging books and other diet related books or every type imaginable trying to figure this thing out.

Just completed week 3 and lost another 2 pounds. I now weigh 182. Can't wait to get in the 160's where I haven't been in at least 4 years maybe more. I definitely want to get in the 160's and maintain for a while and then I will try to go lower. If I can get down to about 165 and stay there all the next year I will be so happy!!!

Did great day before. Terrible yesterday. I noticed on binge days I eat around 2600 calories. If I binge every day I'll gain a pound a week (or more).

Started the experiencing God series group study. More of a commitment than i realized but I think what I'll be doing with Purple passion and the EG programs will compliment each other.

Gained a pound. Ugh. Ate more than ever the first week I tried to lose weight. My resolve is high in the morning to non existent in the late afternoon/evening. Some of the triggers I noted were
1) waiting (putting my stuff on hold waiting for Keith)
2) annoyance/frustration (with Keely)
3) hopeless (feeling like I'm hopeless when it comes to resisting the urge to eat)
4) too hungry / can't wait for dinner
5) boredom (when fish aren't biting)
6) Keith insists I keep all kinds of junk in the house and on the boat.
7) Keith picks the worst place to eat (Long John's, Lee's)

Sometimes I feel so helpless when it comes to resisting food. You'd think my reasons for losing weight would help motivate me:

1. My health. I have high blood pressure and cholesterol under control with drugs. Sure would like to not need them. I have heartburn and other aches and pangs I know are from extra weight. I carry my fat in my midsection and my organs are crying out for mercy! Sometime if I just twist at my waist a certain way my fat gets caught in my rib cage - sooooo painful.

2. I have so little energy and just a little exertion has me huffing and puffing. It's getting hot now and all this extra weight doesn't help me deal with the heat.

3. If I don't take some weight off I will be fatter than ever at my family reunion in July.

4. I feel terrible about myself because of my lack of control

Our garbage man is boomin' the rap at 8:00 am LOL - glad I'm not trying to sleep in.

Horrible yesterday - 1118+ cal over my max range and didn't get my water in. Had a dream I was swelling and imploring my husband to PLEASE take me to a hospital - probably from the saltiness and bloat feeling of it all. In my dream my hubby showed a surprising lack of urgency.

Trying to motivate myself today after the horrible failure of yesterday is really hard.

Spending time with SP in the morning to try and bump up my motivation.
Successful day 1 with a little over 1200 calories and lots of activity. Not a super stressful day, just my normal stressors and I managed to shake it off. Huge veggie omelet in the evening really helped me feel satisfied. A good walk with Red - some of the Red trail. Working up to the whole thing. Easily winded. Can't wait to get past that.

Today's exercise will be walking Red. We've both put on weight over the winter. Getting ready to head out now. Have a family reunion on 7/15, just a little over 8 weeks, and I don't want to weigh more than I did last year. I keep getting bigger and bigger in those photos every year!

Looks like I gave up 5 months ago when the holidays rolled in. I've gained 6 pounds, but in truth I lost and gained 8 pounds during that time and just didn't record it here. I'm more or less at my previous starting point in my never ending battle to try to convince myself that the food I love isn't worth the weight I gain and how crappy I feel - like a slug. Woke up this morning and saw that my hubby did a little shopping last night. There are a dozen donuts on the counter, a strawberry cake in the fridge, a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake and two 1/2 gallons of ice cream in the freezer. Sigh.

BTW, Jury duty wasn't that bad. I enjoyed learning a little more about the process and met some nice women to hang out with for lunch.

So I managed to gain another pound. I was down to 173 but now I'm at 178.4. You know, if I can just get a grip right now it's not that bad. But I will HATE myself if I wake up on New Years Day back where I started. At the rate I'm eating/gaining that could easily happen. So here I am to remind myself of that and tell myself to keep fighting the good fight. If I start today, right now, seriously, I could lose that 5 lbs and then some and be ahead of the weigh loss game come New Years. Now that would feel great! I need 3 white knuckle days in a row to get things rolling and I know and will do it! I work until 12:30 and I will take my JJ Tom Turkey and eat 1/2 for breakfast, 1/2 before I go grocery shopping after work, and water water water. I will take a walk with Red after I put away groceries and then I will snack on mini bells while I prepare dinner (spaghetti/salad). I will keep my calories to 1200 today. That will be a real white knuckler but I need the jump start. I can do this. I have to do this. Lord willing, and I know he wants me to have self control in this area, I can do this!

Wow - a week since I've written. Let's see, fishing, a long day at church, adjusting to time change, election stuff and eating, eating, eating lots of bad stuff!!!!! Gaining, gaining, gaining. It's like a runaway train. I have to start all over again with the white knuckling but this time of year is a bad time to do it. Tomorrow fishing, Saturday road trip to Branson, Sunday heading to Quincy ugh. I could have been 169 and instead I'm probably at 179. UGH!!!! So that's how crappy I'm doing!

It only 7:11 am and I've already eaten Cheetos and buttered toast.

2 or 3 oreos
chicken & waffles flavored potato chips
some other cookie I don't know what to call it
granola
two different dinners (instead of 1) - one with 1/2+ real sour cream
4 or 5 snickers fun size candy bars

I did take a nice long walk - 4 miles
I did throw out a pancake I was tempted to eat

Once again I will remind myself that I'm feeling the fat pile on already after 1 week of overeating! Stop! Now!

So, I've totally failed so far at getting back on track. I'm not depressed or feeling guilty about it though. Just know that I don't want to gain all the weight back I've lost and giving up is not an option. Even though I've gained a few pounds it's not to late to turn things around.

About 20 people showed up Friday night. So glad about that. I ate a lot, hot dog, chili, smore' and some of this giant cookie a guest brought, Saturday went fishin and ate a lot that day as usual and then yesterday pretty much over did it again. I definitely put on the feed bag these last three days. If I were to keep that up I'd be back at my start weight by the New Year - yikes! I'm trying to start a new log in streak of 63 days - the 63rd day being New Years. I want to be in the 160's by then and see how far into the 160's I can go. I've enjoyed the 170's but it's time to move on! I want to try to remember from my weekend binge that once I was full I really didn't enjoy the food as much. I want to experience hunger so I can enjoy my meal and if I just eat all day long I don't get that.

The stress of getting everything ready for company tonight has become an eating trigger. Today I will plan my eating and when I want to veer from plan I will just breath instead, have a moment of mindful meditation with my Lord, drink that water, and remind myself that the next meal is coming soon. I will not eat while company is here as I will be playing host - I will save calories for "that time" after they leave and I release all and want food! "typically"

I also am determined to lose some weight this holiday season rather than gain it. Starting today more that determined not to be a statistic!

Keely Bright and Dark is going to have her "days". I know this! I must learn to not have "her days" along with her. Be me - be there for her - but be me. I don't go through her "stuff" with her but beside her. I can't believe I'm going through this again with yet another child, and this one is a doozy! I wish I could be more like my husband in this regard. Men don't let their emotions get all wrapped up in the thing. They're so practical and seem to be able to "observe" what's happening without being emotionally involved.

Yesterday I just went all out eating whatever - why? I had a nice weight loss so I think I gave myself permission. And I felt like I could make up for it by being extra good the rest of the week, but will I? Why is it so easy to cheat and so hard not to? I always eat more when I work mornings and have the afternoons off. Thankfully that only occurs twice per week. I need a strategy for when I get home. I'm usually pretty hungry. I do eat breakfast but I get home around 1:00. I could plan my lunch for that day before I get home. Promise to only eat that followed by a nice hot cup of tea and then have a chore or task planned following that which will keep my hands busy. I don't know. Maybe I should just drive down the street to the department store and try on a few outfits after work - that should do it. Nothing like florescent lighting and dressing room mirrors to remind you of your goals.

I wrote an entry yesterday but I guess I forgot to save it. Trying to remember what I said. Oh well, that was yesterday, this is today. Feeling woosy this morning. Better take some Dramamine. I also forgot my allergy pill last night - probably why I'm having issues this morning. I have an appt for Keely to see a therapist this afternoon. Praying that goes well. Still slowly bumping up her Zoloft Rx and hoping to see improvements there. I sure hope she gets some relief, because that would give me some stress relief. Been doing good with my eating. The turtle is moving. Keith is having job stress and although he never talks about work, he was yesterday. Not a good sign. I think he'll be moving on soon and that means health coverage will change . . . sigh. Have people coming over Friday night so lots of cleaning to do. Praying I don't have a relapse of the dizzies. Praying I can enjoy the days in spite of all the busyness and the stressed out people I'm surrounded by.

So the morning after my last post I woke up with my world spinning, literally, and that's why I haven't written in a while. Things are almost back to normal. Just a little off kilter (tending to veer left). This off balance thing is making me less than enthusiastic (about anything). And naturally there's a lot going on. I've been mostly sticking to my calorie range except one night when I had McDonalds Big Mac and fries and a lot of other crap. I didn't log my calories that day. First time in a long while I didn't do it. I'm going to go get ready for church. Haven't been in 3 weeks. Wish I didn't have to go now. Feeling so blah! Going to go take some Dramamine though and get on with it.

Here I am, back home from Atlanta. While there enjoyed a pork roast my dad smoked - but I did not over eat so yay!, dinner with my parents and brother and sis in law, watching my dad's bluegrass band perform, and listening to him tell stories to my young niece who is recording them for posterity. Did well with eating while there and then after getting home from the airport went totally off program with 3 slices of pizza and a cookie. Hubby's idea on the way home. Took me off guard. Figured he would have already eaten since it was 9 pm. I smelled that pizza and lost all resistance. Oh well - fuel for my walk with Red. Poor baby, no one walks him when I'm gone. Thankfully it's a beautiful morning! I looked over a lot of recipes while on break - I really need to try some of them instead of just looking at them all the time.

Still having issues with keeping under 1550 although not binging. Just need to plan better so I get more fruits, veggies, salads, clear soups, Plain oatmeal and other more filling less calorie dense foods in. Plus drink my water! Heading to Mom and Dad's in the morning for 4 days. May or may not be a challenge. They eat pretty healthy. Should at least not gain. When I get back I'm going to start working out with my videos on the days I'm not hiking with Red.

What was I thinking when I brought home chocolate donut holes!

Feel pretty good today after a weekend of camping. I broke my log in streak but have a new goal of 10 pounds and 100 log in days in a row. Should weigh 165 by day 100 (January 17, 2017). I haven't be doing to well at consistently staying under 1500 calories. I really need to focus on that in particular in the next 100 days. Also would like to add some video workouts to my week - tae bo probably to start since I still have elbow issues, and my beach body lower body workout.

This morning I feel terrible - the result of too much of the bad stuff - ugh! Plus, I didn't get my chores done yesterday because of the binge (which sapped my energy) so I have to do them this morning instead of my walk. My husband has decided we are going camping this weekend - well that's a lot of work I have to do before I go to work at 12:30. He wants to leave when I get home at 5:30. I usually like to go camping but for some reason I'm not feeling it. Probably because I found out a friend's step daughter was killed in a car accident and I feel so bad for her. They're going out of state today to her SD's home so there's really nothing I can do for her so no reason not to go camping. I'm sure the binge guilt also has a lot to do with my crappy attitude this morning. Oh well - going to just start putting everything together and hope to get out of this slup. (Meant to type slump, but slup is a better sound word for how I feel).

Yesterday I really lost my focus. I was having one of those days where I felt discouragement coming from everywhere, which got me thinking negatively, which really stressed me out and I turned to food. I will be up against all that again today - this battle of the mind - but I've decided I'm not going to use food to deal. It just adds fuel to the fire of discouragement. Today I'm going to super encourage myself with lots of positive thoughts. The negativity I face daily at my job isn't going away so I just have to learn to create my own positive space while there - a protective positivity bubble that destroys negativity on contact. Pow!

Yesterday I stayed in my calorie range! Food was pretty salty though so need to watch that. I got rid of the two pounds I had gained - yippee! Now to make some progress. My turtle is moving so slow but going backwards is NA. I have a lot of challenges ahead - camping this weekend is one. Need to think about that. For some reason when ever I do anything out of the normal routine it's like a signal to eat "whatever". I mean - who wants to eat salad when they're camping?

Made homemade, from scratch, red beans. Was trying to make them taste like Popeye's. Hubby says I came close. Trying to overcome my fears in the kitchen.

Haven't written here in 3 days - here's the summary.

Cardinals finally got their act together but not in time. Better season next year!

Saturday I got skunked - no fishies for me. Meanwhile hubby, as usual, was killing it. Umph! Still a pretty day on the lake and we reminisced about finding Rendy there one year ago - even ran into the guy who helped us catch him (that was amazing - Keith has a great memory).

Sunday big deal with Keely - she's really stressing me and Keith out. Almost 20 and now she decides to act like a teenager. Also, never go shopping on Sunday - the store is out of everything!!!!

Eating - well, I indulged in some very salty, fatty, cuisine Saturday and Sunday. I'm introducing discipline back into my life starting now!

Realization - I complain a lot, not necessarily out loud, but in my head. Want to try to work on that.

I've been doing pretty well but last night I got into the pasta and didn't feel to well in the middle of the night. Lesson learned. Could have been all the Mrs. Dash I sprinkled on added to the discomfort. Hoping for a good day but tonight will be going to Applebee's - I know there are some light"ish" dishes - I'll stick to one of those. Time for my walk. I think they're doing me a lot of good and I know they are vital to my dog's health, physical and mental. This is prime walking weather and I'm thankful for it and plan to take advantage of it as much as possible. Read some very motivating articles this morning - it all help keep me focused!

Good advice for a healthy eating plan, an excerpt from "How to Separate Healthy Fact from Fiction, Discover Your Path to Health Without Confusion"
by Ellen G. Goldman :

"My Diet Plan

After thirty years of working in the nutrition and health trenches, here are my guidelines and advice based on my own diet plan.

emoticon Eat often and eat light. Never go more than four hours without food. This will keep your blood sugar on an even keel.

emoticon emoticon Aim for every meal and every snack to be a combination of protein, healthy fat and complex carbohydrates.

emoticon emoticon emoticon Load up on as many fruits and vegetables as you can--all day, every day.

emoticon As much as possible, steer clear of processed foods and those with added sugar.

emoticon When you purchase packaged foods, choose those with a smaller ingredient list. If you can’t pronounce the ingredient, there is a good chance you don’t want it in your body.

In general, when choosing packaged foods such as breakfast cereals, breads and snack bars, the higher the fiber and the lower the sugar, the better.

emoticon Unless you have a specific allergy or medical condition, no food is ever completely off limits. Occasional treats can help you avoid feelings of deprivation that often lead to bingeing.

emoticon Savor the experience of eating. Eat foods that make you feel good, both physically and emotionally, and steer clear of those that don’t!

Saw this on a new friends Spark page MKDBWNSUGAR and looked for the original writer who I think is "Jes" MADMANSMAMA87.

JES' TEN COMMANDMENTS OF SELF-LOVE

1. Accept yourself for who you are at this very moment. Appreciate the BEAUTY that makes you YOU:)

2. Be thankful for your blessings. You may not have everything you want but, you have ALL you need.

3. Make sure your worst enemy isn't dwelling in your own skin. Remember that you're always listening even if no one else can hear you!

4. Vow to take care of your body & work out daily! After all, it's the only place you have to live! Make it a happier, healthier place to reside in. YOU are your best investment.

5. Stay true to who you are & you will ALWAYS be happy! Gather all your crazy dreams, far fetched ambitions & big goals & build a life you love & are proud of!

6. Stop comparing yourself to who you're not! Girls compete with one another. Women EMPOWER each other.

7. Forgive yourself for every mistake, every heartbreak & every time you've fallen short. Self-forgiveness is a necessary & vital step to finding your inner peace.

8. Remember that you can't fix yourself by BREAKING someone else. ALWAYS choose kindness.

9. Focus your thoughts on what is good, what is admirable & what is positive. Never let your mind become consumed by negativity & hate. Never let your heart turn cold.

10. Say YES to adventure. Say YES to bliss. Say YES to the impossible. You never know when your heart will stop beating. Take the jump & free fall on the way down if you have to. Live with no regrets.

Last night at the Cards game I got to see my first Grand Slam! That was fun!!! I ate a bite of this and that when we got home from the game cause I was quite hungry. Should have just had a bowl of oatmeal or just the chicken and left it at that. It's so hard to track "a bite of this and that". I probably went a little over on my calorie range - well time to go walk and get rid of it!

The scale is still showing a good weight loss but I'm doubting it. I feel it partly from going off as certain prescription that causes weight gain and I've only been back on it a few days. If by next week I still have the same number showing up or lower I will go ahead and record it. I have actually stepped up my activity quite a lot and maybe my metabolism is better and resulting in weight loss. Hope so. Tonight I'm going to the baseball game. Food is so expensive not much Temptation there. If I do eat anything it will just be popcorn Maybe or a piece of the pretzel my husband will buy, believe me he doesn't share much of it LOL. Other than that my only foreseen food challenge today is the grocery store. Hopefully I can get out of there without buying something stupid like Nutella. Daughter finish off the Nutella and I'm not going to buy it anymore. It's something I just can't handle in my home.

Happy Monday morning to me! I had a good day Sunday and stayed in my calorie range - Saturday not so much. Actually did pretty good on the road considering what I had to choose from but when we got home (around 10 pm) I had a bit of a mini binge. Today I'm planning a nice long walk with Red and to eat good for me foods only (no Nutella and ice cream).I had a huge weight loss on the scale but I'm not going to record it cause it doesn't make sense to me and I was off my weight gain causing RX for 1 week but back on now. I will wait until my next Tues weigh-in to record - that should be a true weight. If I weren't on that RX I would be pounds lighter *sigh*.

You're welcome Rashellesky - Hope you're having a good day today.

I'm off on a quick road trip down south (to Arkansas) to visit Uncle Frank in rehab. Yesterday I did pretty good with my eating but probably 1 taco too many. Took my usual 3 mile walk with the pooch to the farm. Up and down lots of hills. These walks make me soooo hungry though. On today's road trip I'm hoping to stay in calorie range but it's tricky. Oh well, I'll be extra good tomorrow LOL. Yesterday I made a huge mostly egg white omelet with some portabellas I was gifted. Soooo good. Then ended the day with Taco Bell (hubby's request for dinner). Should have just had leftovers myself but I gave in to the urge. Don't know why I love it but I do. Had a carefully portioned dessert of ice cream and Nutella. My daughter was freaking out cause I hid the Nutella behind a few things so it wouldn't be so "in my face". She was so relieved when I showed her we still had some. Guess she though I had eaten it all.

Since my last entry, I've had 2 pretty good days. By pretty good I mean that I stayed in weight loss calorie range - barely. So hungry. Have been taking long walks so that's probably part of it. Have been dipping into the Nutella, but carefully weighing it. Had spaghetti squash with my Chili last night instead of the usual spaghetti noodles. I figure it's better to stay around 1500 calories than 2300-3000. Trying to keep it to 1200 somehow pushes me towards those even bigger numbers.

Another seriously bad day yesterday. I don't however feel guilty which is good. I just realize that I'm falling back into some bad eating patterns and I need to address that problem. I feel more analytical about it than emotional. I was too hungry when I got home and I had a late supper planned because I had to wait on my husband to clean the fish we were having for dinner. I immediately grabbed the first thing I saw (half a whopperito) and figured I'd eat it to tide me over. However, that just got me going on a snack binge. And then I still ate dinner. The whopperito was gross. What a waste of calories. I should have gone for the orange, a salad etc. Would have tasted better too and been good for me. Wouldn't feel so bloated and low energy this morning. Today I'm looking forward to eating well and taking care of my body.

A bit of a binge last night. On a 1-10 scale I'd give it a 6. I wasn't overly full just way over my calories. I gave myself permission to eat even though I knew my calories were maxed out. So tired of fighting the urge sometimes but today I feel better and know I can go on with a little more restraint for a while. I've given myself a goal of losing 5 pounds (171 pounds) by the time I go visit Mom and Dad again in just shy of 4 weeks.

Red did great on his walk to the farm - 2 miles.

I ate too many dumplings emoticon

Watching the master chef finale got to me - it was the salted caramel tart with the chocolate almond crust and dark chocolate stuff on top. I had one 1/2 cup serving of reduced fat ice cream with 1/2 tbsp of caramel sauce and that was all - so proud of my control here!

Yesterday I was successful - almost. A bite of garlic bread and 8 nilla wafers put me over.

Tried something new - roasted cauliflower and it was great!

Have an awesome dinner planned tonight and I'm saving room in my calorie budget for dumplings!

Daughter was in "crisis" mode yesterday but I didn't let it stress me out.

Started to get into the ice cream but decided it wasn't something I really wanted.

Did a good job resisting buying junk food (that would tempt me) at the store. Started to buy Nutella for my daughter (her fave) but in the end put it back cause I knew it would give me trouble. She's 20 and has a job. If she wants it she can go to the store and buy it herself.

So I lost some weight this week. Could have been more but I really didn't stay to the low end of my calorie range much (or even in it). Obviously my BMR is higher than what Spark is calculating. I went with sedentary but maybe I'm more active than I realize. If I'm going to make my New Year's goal I really need to lose 1 pound a week. I've been messing around with foods like cheetos & cheese crackers that I could do without.

Starting to like Mondays simply because the weekends are a bit stressful in the eating/dieting department and the weekdays are so much more manageable. So here's to a great Monday!

Yesterday I stayed in my calorie range - didn't make dumplings after all. I weighed myself this morning (midweek) and saw a new, lower number - yay! I'm motivated to keep up the trend so I can record it on my official weigh day. No big challenges coming up today so should be a good one - no excuses!

Got a little carried away yesterday with the beef. Other than that did okay. Just can't seem to eat low calorie enough to satisfy me and stay in calorie range let alone the lower end. Need to exercise but that will make me even hungrier. I keep very active but no "formal" exercise. Today I'm going to eat at my low end of 1200 calories. No special challenges so a good day to make the commitment. Also try to eat only healthy items (except dumplings - definitely going to eat a few dumplings.)
