so i have not posted here for a while. I definitely need to lower my calorie and carb intake . calories by about 200 calories a day and carbs about 25 carbs a day. and bump up exercise

Gwynlee - I'd encourage you to try the keto - I just started back on it. We just have to be patient with ourselves, take it one step at a time. I ignore my own advise all the time until I realize I need to follow it too!!

There are a few KETO and low carb teams. Right now I'm in another program off SparkPeople and just starting my second full week. There is so much out on the Internet about KETO etc and after awhile it gets confusing. So that's why I like this program - it is doctor supervised telemedicine, working alongside with and in cooperation with your local primary care... and they just seem to help me put some of the confusing pieces together.

Hi again,,

You may like the 5% challenge that is here on spark. Each season a new challenge starts. We have 8 weeks to lose 5% of our weight. It is a boost to be in a team of people all trying for the same thing. Look for Winter 5% Challenge on the Spark Teams search.

I will try to figure out how to put a link in if you have no luck. There are hundreds doing the challenges, currently more than 600. Normally 40 in each team. MI am in the team, Determined Daisies.

See if you can find it and what you think. The Fall challenge has finished so no challenge just now. The next challenge starts on 6 January

You CAN do this. It will happen. o not lose your mojo.

I read recently that weightloss work has to occur in our heads first. My suggestion to you and to me...I am in much the same place!...that we start with some discipline. All we have to do when temptations occur is to say no thank you.

I am going to work on this one tomorrow.

I have not been getting more exercise than normal. I have been struggling with my food. I have been dizting around with this weight loss way too long. I don't need to go over how and why. bless me -- i just need to get this weight off. I am so sick of being fat it is not funny. know how long I have been carrying this excess weight? about 15 years. at least. Yes sure I have lost about 43 pounds and have kept it off but I have to lose at least another 90.

last entry was July 4 -- that was a very bad eating day for sure. I had 1800 calories. First I went to one friend's house, had chips and then chicken. and fruit. then went to another friends house and had chicken, pita, fruit, and more food than I can remember

I suppose it does not matter how I got fat. Short version was that I lived with both an undiagnosed (till age 40) brain injury and undiagnosed depression (again till age 40). emotionally I am better. But I used food, cigarettes and credit cards to mask my feelings. I don't need to do that any more. I have changed my life around. now it is time for this fat to get lost

I have really been trying hard to stay on track following the nutritionists advice. it is really hard. back when I first started trying to lose weight, a bad eating day was 2000 calories. then it was 1700 calories. now it is about 1400 or 1500 calories. I have gained about 12 pounds back. not good. I am frustrated

went to a nutritionist today --- I am doing about 50% of what she would recommend me to do. Now to tweak it. I need to stay about 1100 - 1200 calories per day, cut down on carbs, up protein, and get more exercise

went for a swim this morning then grocery shopping, taking a break from unpacking. I first found spark people about 10-1/2 people -- back in those days you had to pay a fee for using spark - yes you pay a fee for premium services now but back then there was no premium spark. I must say how frustrated I am that my weight is not going down.

since it has been a while I will update. I have been working for 1-1/2 years for a staffing agency called STAR Services -- they send people to work in group homes and day programs for people with disabilities. I was tracked into this position by vocational rehab people who felt this was a good job match -- and I was very resistant. I finally agreed to do this as I had been out of work for 1-1/2 years and that was getting depressing.

my weight has stayed about the same. I am frustrated with this. I want to lose. I am now at 217 -- my weigh in at WW this past Monday. Why am I disappointed? because I have been working on weight loss now for about 7 years and am only down about 35 pounds -- I find this very discouraging.

I would love some good ideas from others as to how to jump start this plateau!

I have been negletent in keeping this up. I am going to lose. I am sorely disappointed in my lack of progress losing weight. I have written about my history so many times it is tireing.

Food is not my friend. I used food to sooth my feelings.

I have to agree with you -- I am sick of this as well. up and down and up and down. I am officially 7 pounds less than when I got married -- YEAH!! Exercise is my forte -- I exercise 6 times a week. Food is my weakness. Last night we went out to eat and I know I ate more than I should have.

I am so happy for you girl. I gained weight. I am not feeling this BLC this round and should have not joined.... I have decided to join sparkguy challenge. It is not set up like the BLC. It is different. I am looking forward to my new beginning and am already thinking about goals. I am so tired of going back and forth with my weight I could scream!!!!! I really do not know why I lose mo mojo except I have been sick for about 2 weeks. If I ever stop exercising then it is hard to begin again. I have started. I am not looking back any more. No more head games or listening to the enemy within or without. day 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the both of us.

will I love sandwiches and carbs especially crackers, I try not to eat sweets. I get hocked up on sweets if I ever start eating them. Once I then I go cray cray and the craving do nor end. Next are potato chips which are no down fall.

I guess I never ate a lot of bread. have not eaten sandwiches for years. and I don't serve bread with dinner or any meals. Just one slice with breakfast when I have egg beaters. Carbs are my downfall. Cookies, pasta, and biscotti I just love and those calories and carbs add up

I need to reduce my carb intake --- I have bread down to one slice a day -- in the morning with my egg beaters. but I love things like Fiber one bars, pasta, and potatoes--all with carbs. I want to take my carbs down to a lower level

I am feeling pretty good right now. I have been eating cleaner for 3 days. part of my plan is to use freshly made juices and smoothie cut back on meat and bread. Fingers crossed. Still need to get moving.

congrats on your 3-4 pounds loss. As far as the ww message board...well you made the message board for your weight loss journey and yours alone. If the folks do not want to read it or did not like what you said then I say they can step off. People can be so mean. Tell them if they do not like what they see then close their eyes. ROFL. don't let them discourage you. I just saw Oprah speaking of ww very inspiring. I know she has struggled a long time with her weight. Go and conquer!
