I'm very sorry that you've been dealing with two recent deaths. You take things one day at a time. You mention that you eat healthy, are you logging your food choices ? How are you measuring your portions ? If you're just estimating your portion sizes or not reading nutrition labels, you may be eating more than you think.

Also, this is not meant as a criticism, but how do you know you're eating healthy ? Many people say they eat right, but once they start logging and tracking their food choices, they find that some of their choices aren't always the healthiest.

I would suggest taking things slowly. you could talk to your doctor and ask for a referral to a dietitian. Because you are struggling with depression, working with a dietitian could help you get back on track.

If you aren't ready to talk to your doctor or go to a dietitian, I suggest tracking your food choices. Start small. each day for one week, you track breakfast and a snack. the next week, you track breakfast, lunch and a snack. the week after that, you track all your meals. Tracking your food will help you learn where you may need to make adjustments.

If I were to go back in time and give myself one piece of advice that would help me lose weight and be healthy, it would be to eat 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies each and every day. If you're not eating 6-9 servings, then try this. Set a goal to eat 2-3 servings each day for one week. You keep doing that until you feel comfortable. it may take a few weeks before you're ready to try 3-4 servings each day.

Setting simple daily goals helps a person ease into a healthier set of habits.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you for your loss. I know how it feels to lose people you love. I am going to suggest something very simple. That helped me. Journal, your feelings. Its your feelings, hurts, and heartache. This is private, for you only. I had to do something as I was drowning, eventually, the sun will shine again. You will know when your healing. Hope this helps.
