Yes, similar, I guess but different. A good biscuit is light and flaky. We get scones here and they are a little drier (in a good way of course) and heavier. Grands are good but homemade is better. :)

Your biscuits look like our scones.

I think the OP is referring to Pillsbury Grands, which is refrigerated dough that comes in a tube. You break open the tube, which is half the fun, place each roll/biscuit on a tray and bake. Here's a link:

Fun fact: Pillsbury is based here in Minnesota!

I'm glad you're feeling more positive.

You don't have to give up the foods you love to be healthy or lose weight.

But eventually, you will need to learn portion control. What you don't want to do is starve yourself during the day to save calories for a candy bar later. You should be eating plenty of healthy food that nourishes your body each day, every day. If you're eating the right foods, you wont crave the Grands.

The Grand bar should be a once in a while treat.

Thanks for the positive encouragement! I looked at my Apple watch and actually looked at all I ate that day and figured I could justify eating some Grands and boy were they good.

KMGORM78,

The work is NOT gone !

I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for the day was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. that's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a change. Change takes time. So, stop beating yourself up because you at a Grand candy bar.

What GOOD things did you do during the day ? Did you drink 4-6 glasses of water ? Did you eat 3-4 servings of fresh fruit and veggies ? Did you take a 30 minute walk ?

as the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative".

If you beat yourself up every time you do something you don't think is healthy, like eat a candy bar, you will NEVER lose the weight. Learning to eat right takes time. And yes, a Grand bar can be a part of a healthy lifestyle.

What can you do today that will make your day a bit more healthy ?

It may help to remind yourself of the reasons why you want to lose weight and be healthier. Also tell yourself that if you want to reach those goals, you will have to learn to say no and just shrug and move on when you feel tempted.
See this situation as a good chance to train your 'resistance muscle' and to practice saying 'oh well' and just continueing on your path. (Judith Beck writes about this in her book 'The Diet Solution').

I've exercised like crazy and ate healthy and in great portions. Well my son wants grands. They are 180 calories. I love them so much. I have the habit of working so hard and losing control at night and eating what I shouldn't so all my hard work is gone.

When you want to succeed as much as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.
