to add to what ARCHIMEDESII wrote, if your goal is weight loss, then any measurable loss over any stretch of time is a victory.

If it is 2 pounds in a week, great! If it is half a pound in a week, also great! If it is going to take you 2 years to reach your goal (or more), or 3 months, it doesn't matter. Don't let how long it takes you to reach you goal influence you to stop doing what you are doing.

All the best on your path!

Awesome !

Remember, set reasonable and attainable goals. I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither were you. If it took you years to pack on the weight, don't expect it to magically drop off the minute you decide you want to lose.

That's why you take baby steps, literally and figuratively.

That's a great goal! You have found a great place to help you find your goals: SparkPeople! You will learn a lot.

Hopefully, you have started or will start using the nutrition tracker soon. That can be the biggest and most helpful tool in getting healthy. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ASK!!!!! Really! Many of us, including myself, love to help.

Making healthy changes can also be a touch overwhelming and even frustrating. When you get there, don't be afraid to ask for help or for support. As I said, we love to help. We want you to be successful.
