If you love to bake, then do it, but bake healthful foods. My daughter is learning to bake and cook, so she does some baking but we don't do cakes or large batches. We bake whole wheat (or half) scones, pretzels, rolls etc. Scones are amazing for getting that sweet treat sensation without so much sweet. I have found recipes for whole wheat scones on SP that don't hurt calorie counts too much and even some other recipes aren't too bad. Add a just little bit of clotted cream or butter and raspberry preserves and it is so nice!
