Just remember you can also report the person who sent you that insulting message. You can copy/paste it into a SparkMail Message to Coach Jen.

Don't let the remark stick with you, try to shake it off. They don't know you or anything about how to help you.

BREATHE in a POSITIVE THOUGHT; release the feeling as you blow your breath out and send the rudeness on its way!

I try to remember the few times in my 6 almost 7 yrs on Sparks that unfortunately, everyone is at a different point along their journey. For some sadly they are also dealing with a mental/emotional health issue. Hence they can be as said below "Blunt" AKA RUDE.

I'm a leader on a team and YO!! Once I got the RUDEST remark!! Of course, it hurt, but I did approach the person to find out she MEANT IT! YO!!! But, yeah as said sometimes we have those who have "issues" that they think they are helpful and do not see the harm they may create.

I am SO GLAD you came here to ask how to remove it. You do NOT need to see that or in any way acknowledge it.

STAY focused as you no doubt do on how 99.999% of our comments are uplifting.

SPARK ON!

I DO NOT like the words "YOU CAN'T"!!! Where there's a WILL there's a WAY." It may NOT be the traditional way, but if we look for it, it'll be there. No matter where are on our journey we are HERE thus already an improvement.

ArchimedesII:

I suspect I have never encountered rude behavior because most of my interaction is with a small private group who became friends years ago through a defunct message board for people with more than 100 pounds to lose.

I also come to the Panic! message board to try to help as I remember how hard it was for me to lose that weight. I try to review my messages because I fear being too blunt.

I am pleased to learn members can report inappropriate comments, but I feel bad this member had to experience the fun of receiving a Spark Goodie only to find a nasty message attached.

Losing weight, changing lifelong habits, learning to take care of yourself are all hard, and people should be able to feel safe. I guess trolls are just a part of all public cyber communities.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

MERLINANDME,

As supportive as the Spark community is to most members, unfortunately it has it's share of trolls too. Ask member INDYGIRL. I consider her one of Spark's most inspirational members. She lost over 200+ pounds. but she receives a ton of criticism and rude comments from members.

Also, some members may offer some tough love or blunt replies to questions that could be taken the wrong way by the person asking. There are a lot of different people on Spark. Some will get along. Some wont.

We should all try to be polite and respectful, but it doesn't always happen. That's why there is the "report" button. A member can report a post that they consider inappropriate.

What the? Sparkpeople has been a safe place for me for years. There should be a place to report abusive comments.

I am so sorry that happened to you. Grrrrrrr

Please don't leave over someone's nastiness.

If you still need to remove your goodie,
Click on "Start" in the top left corner of the screen.
You'll now see your Start page.
Scroll down the page and click the "View My SparkPage" link, which is listed under the "My Community Quick Links" section.
You'll now see your SparkPage .
Click on the "Awards" tab near the top right corner of the screen.
On the left side of the page you will see the heading for "SparkGoodies."
Scroll to the bottom of the "SparkGoodies" section and click on "Manage My Goodies." and you can hit the delete link for anything you wish to remove.

Be well, Kelly

I am sorry someone was unpleasant/rude! I am not sure how to remove but you may want to post this on the technical board as well.
