On this Day of the Dead my gratitude bows to those on the otherside:
-My paternal great grandparents who braved the trail to come to Colorado by covered wagon
-My maternal grand parents who found their way to Colorado from Switzerland and Italy
-My parents who were staunch in their divergent beliefs, modeling happy harmony and acceptance
-My former husband who supports me strongly from beyond the grave on many levels-All our former dogs
-The joy felt in thinking of departed who are still loved
emoticon There will be a fresh NOVEMBER 2019 Thread posted this afternoon and look forward to seeing the very alive a thriving posts from loyal friends and newcomers who are so welcome too emoticon

On this last day of October, I am grateful for:

-A slow, safe drive in to the office, as we had snow and black ice
-The Day of the Dead, which I like better than our Halloween - Remember, Honor, Celebrate
-Three solid nights of sleep
-Getting outside faucets checked for disconnection as temps were to be low 20s
-Remembering to move my buckets of mums into the garage, just in case
-Always, my health
-Joining my first Spark maintenance challenge to help me stay on track through the holidays!

This morning I'm grateful for:

-An excellent dentist I've been with for many years
-The old saying, "When in doubt, don't." (or at least take a long pause!)
-Roads not being slick on my drive in (temps hovering around freezing with light rain/sleet mix happening)
-The top of Beth's maple tree starting to turn its fall colors (hoping it doesn't lose all leaves before turning due to wintry mixes)
-The great pasta dish I made Sunday that I'll be eating all week
-A friend who will be cooking dinner for us Friday night

I am grateful for a busy work day that made the time pass swiftly.
For being on plan and getting in my exercise, despite a sore Achilles’ tendon.
That my “weekend” is here and I am off on Wednesday and Thursday thus avoiding the crazy retail rush of last minute Halloween shoppers. :)
Finally, I am grateful that my health is good, there is a roof over my head, my bills are paid and my life is filled with lots to be content about.

Being positive is a choice. My Mantra: “Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day." Each morning seek the positive and you will have a good day. Always remember, “Your only competition is YOU.”

This morning I'm grateful for:

-My magic winter coat, the weather tells me it's time
-Going back to my Greek yogurt/frozen blueberries/banana/cinnamon breakfast and wondering why I ever took such a long break from it
-My good health; I never want to take it for granted as I see so many around me struggling in various ways
-Having a really nice workout facility available to me for free at work, especially as winter weather starts
-Another cooking demo this afternoon, put on by the chefs in our cafeteria downstairs
-Receiving news today that they're looking at putting a standing work station on our floor!!! Yay, yay, yay!
-Working for a really good company that treats their employees well (next month will be 15 years)

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Listening to the "Music for Cats" CD dear friend sent the kitty girls; quite interesting, put together after scientific research and I enjoyed it a lot myself; it seemed to be calming for all four of us!
-Going to see the movie "Judy," the story of Judy Garland, that's been on my list for awhile; Renee Zellweger gave an amazing performance
-Feeling so comfortable going to movies, restaurants and other places alone
-My comfortable bed and heating pad, where I hope to go to sleep a bit early

I am grateful that I am no longer sick and that I have been cleared to resume my “intentional” exercise. Also glad for the return to on plan behavior.

I am grateful that the management at my part-time job was willing to change my schedule to one I feel is more beneficial for me.

I am grateful to wake up every morning because God has grated me one more day to appreciate all that is good in my life and to be able to work on those things that I can approve upon.

Being positive is a choice. My Mantra: “Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day." Each morning seek the positive and you will have a good day. Always remember, “Your only competition is YOU.”

This morning I'm grateful for:

-The beauty of a misty morning fog
-Rosie's silky fur as she rubs against my leg, urging me to get her breakfast
-Another gorgeous Saturday in fall, loving it when it happens on a weekend so I can get full enjoyment of the outside
-Choosing to have my LONG walk yesterday at the zoo with a friend, walking, boat ride, sky tram, got 15,000+ steps in yesterday, says my FitBit
-My membership at the Arboretum, where I hope to go spend another part of the afternoon today "forest bathing" (thanks for the reminder of the term GBoomer)
-Clearing the deck last night after dark using the deck light (it was so nice outside, I just wanted to continue doing outside stuff)

This morning I'm grateful for:

-Lovely lunch with retired co-worker yesterday, al fresco, in the beautiful fall weather
-Favorite white pizza for dinner with a friend, large cloves of roasted garlic, spinach & pine nuts, personal-sized for portion control & served with a salad
-Waking to a light rain, but with lack of sunshine, slept an hour later - wow!
-Catching up with dear friend this morning, confirming our Thanksgiving plans, plus plans to do something before to celebrate my birthday
-The Linda Ronstadt documentary - "The Sound of My Voice" - so well done and rave reviews (for good reason)
-Extra weekend time with the kitty girls!

My appreciations today include:
-David calling right before my leaving for Darshan, having quality chat ending with him saying he would call back as he wanted to talk more (maintaining and growing this relationship of more than 45 years even though we now only talk every few months)
-Finding the lady checking me in for Darshan was a long lost friend, (last seen at her wedding), she declared was delighted to see me she had been trying to find me since "forever"
-Peaceful warm and welcoming Darshan greetings and venue space
-Feeling dynamic charge of energy when and after receiving Darshan unlike any before (made my heart beat as fast as if 10 flights of stairs had been raced up)
-Utilizing breathing techniques learned in meditation./yoga training to calm myself
-Afternoon with R, sucessfully turning his mood to joyful and then celebrating with wonderful dinner date
