On this last day of March, I am grateful for:

-Lazy Sundays
-Being very kind and gentle with myself this weekend
-These three kitties, who love, Love, LOVE it when I get lazy!
-Heating pads
-Ice cream (a one scoop treat for me yesterday)
-Sprouts trip done and finding everything I wanted, so now I'm completely stocked up on my organic raw nuts and seeds (walnuts, almonds, pecans, cashews, sunflower and pumpkin), plus some cranberries (plan to make my own organic raw trek mix)

DAILY

These shriveled seeds we plant,
corn kernel, dried bean,
poke into loosened soil,
cover over with measured fingertips

These T-shirts we fold into
perfect white squares

These tortillas we slice and fry to crisp strips
This rich egg scrambled in a gray clay bowl

This bed whose covers I straighten
smoothing edges till blue quilt fits brown blanket
and nothing hangs out

This envelope I address
so the name balances like a cloud
in the center of sky

This page I type and retype
This table I dust till the scarred wood shines
This bundle of clothes I wash and hang and wash again
like flags we share, a country so close
no one needs to name it

The days are nouns: touch them
The hands are churches that worship the world

~ Naomi Shihab Nye ~

Today I'm grateful for:

-Sunshine, which also means driving with my sunroof open - win-win
-Reinstituting a crustless spinach onion quiche (SP recipe) that used to appear regularly in meal rotation
-Roasting asparagus and carrots (with dill) to go with the quiche - voila - 6 very healthy meals!
-The road crews are hitting the main boulevard I drive on; it needs it badly as it had/has potholes that could suck you down!
-The best dentist I could ask for; at my cleaning today (yay!), we talked about how I've been with him since the beginning

This morning I'm grateful for all of this, yet so much more:

-An excellent training session with my good friend; we're bartering my editing skills for her dissertation with her personal training to help restrengthen my knees
-Getting to try her inversion table and really liking it
-Biofreeze, it definitely helps when I work that knee!
-A quiet evening at home with the kitty girls, just what I needed
-Four male cardinals sitting in Beth's tree at the same time; these guys normally hang out in the back yard, so this was "interesting"
-Easy Sunday morning quiet time (waiting on the church bells)

Morning thankfulness~~

~ a short-but-sweet WhatsApp phone conversation with Adelaida this morning, now ONE WEEK away from her arrival!

~ confirmed a visit with director of El Zocalo Immigrant Resource Center, first my boss and now my friend, to introduce Adelaida to the important services of this organization

~ simple, tasty, healthy breakfast this morning

~ so fortunate to have a spiritual foundation and teacher role model to aid me in decision-making and getting through the day

~ though I was at first disappointed with the prediction of rain today, I'm looking at it as a "blessing in disguise" (yeah, right), allowing me to get more organizing and cleaning done

Blessed be,

This morning I'm grateful for:

-Long, hot showers ... aaaaaaah, what a luxury
-The return of the mourning doves who enjoy drinking from the water gardens, with the ever-present cardinals watching over as squirrels chase each other again
-Being able to handle the shock I got at my CPA's office (with government changing tax laws throughout the year on the fly, it's not a surprise and not fair, but at least I can pay the tax bill, unlike others out there getting hit hard
-My comfortable home
-Planning skills

My appreciations this morning include:
-My Faire ‘husband’ gifting me some of his magical crystals and being a dynamic part of successful show
-Handsome man returning for another shield after he could not stop thinking about it and sharing rich
conversation about his path (he just passed the bar) and the joy he shares with his lovely wife, who
we met the day before
-Bonding in unique and folded time sort of way reminding me of how quick and condensed time friendships can be made, like I experienced on long train rides
-A surprising me with a visit and on seeing her it felt like I was in a dream...so nice!!
-B “faire husband” helping me load my car and R unloading it when I got home
-Perfect timing for Asian delivery food that R ordered for us
-Sleep so sweet that I slept much longer than usual
-Showroom set up and all Faire gear stowed
